So this place is generally fine - I agree with the other posters that the staff is pretty helpful. One of them even called me once to let me know I had left something out. So kudos for that. The reason I am giving it two stars is because the inside units are listed (and were sold to me) as "climate controlled" and they most definitely are NOT. They have AC in the summer, yes. But I was there the other day and it was absolutely freezing inside the buildings. It was actually colder inside the buildings than it was outside. I say this because I had been storing things that I did not want exposed to extreme temperatures, mostly some delicate paper stuff. I also had some paint in there that froze and either subsequently exploded, or froze and is now non-useable. Beyond that, the temperatures going up and down are bad news for keeping moisture with paper goods - so books, etc are screwed for mold. I was fortunate that I ended up taking out a lot of electronic stuff I had in there - if I hadnt that would be gone too. I wish I had known this before I went with this location. I have been a Public Storage customer for years in other locations, and this is the first time something like this has happened. I am really unhappy about this and thought others should be aware in case have or want to store anything that may be delicate or not subjected to extreme temperatures. The units are definitely NOT climate controlled.

I had rented space at other PS properties in Texas and had no issues so with the move-in special I reserved a unit online. When I arrived to sign the paperwork and pay, I was informed I HAD to put a lock on the unit (despite the fact that it would be EMPTY until I moved my stuff in, and I already had several high quality padlocks of the required type in said storage)before I could rent it, and I was required to buy insurance from PS to rent a space. After a delay while I made a hurried trip to Menards to spend an additional $12 plus the $11 for a months insurance, I was out nearly $25 I had not expected to spend. This will be the only and last month Public Storage gets any of my business. These types of requirements MUST be presented when reserving a space online, not used as a "gotcha" when you arrive and are pressured into forking out more money. Hopefully I can get my money back from Menards for the padlock I have to use for 1 day. The above was 11 months ago. My rent has gone up from $76 total to $88 total including the insurance they make you pay to have the tiny 5x8 unit. The light in the elevator well STILL is not fixed which makes things very difficult at night.

Linda was friendly & efficient. Service was good, and the facility was clean & convenient. Temperature controlled? I guess. Wear a jacket. Only a second floor storage unit was available for me at the time, which involved use of a clunky freight elevator and a longish walk to the unit itself. That was easy enough for me and my helpers. The floors were smooth and the place had a couple of wheely dollies available for use. When I signed up to rent a unit I was charged $20 for a lock. I hadnt figured Id need a lot immediately as I wasnt going to put things in the unit for a couple of days, and I already had a lock at my home for when I would need it. I was told I could use my lock and not be charged, but I couldnt leave the unit unlocked whether I had stuff in it or not. This required an extra round trip to my home to get my lock. There is a Home Depot next door if one wants to buy a different lock than the one PublicStorage wants to sell you. Just have it available when you sign the papers. Storage units are expensive to rent. Weigh that cost, and the convenience of having a space to put your stuff, versus the value of the stuff you want to store.

My wife and I are moving to the Twin Cities from about 250 miles away and began storing some of our belongings at this location over a year ago. It would appear that manager Nikole lives there since Ive not come to the office yet that she has not been there with helpful information offered in a friendly manner. It took only a couple stops in the office before she knew my name and circumstances. It was wonderful to be able to stop at a business place in this big new city and find someone that knows me and acts as though we are friends. Nikole is great. When we moved out today Linda was also there and offered unsolicited help in a manner just as friendly as Nikole. You have good employees there. I understand that Nikole is moving to a new Public Storage location. If you can get someone as good as she is at her current spot you and your customers will be fortunate.

This facility is conveniently located right off the freeway and brightly lit during all hours of the day. The management is wonderful to work with and tailored the unit that best matched my needs. Linda is is extremely friendly, helpful, professional and a delight to work with addressing all questions that have risen with general curiosity. Shes prompt with communication and has exceeded my expectations with going above and beyond to ensure excellent service and clean & safe facilities are being delivered. Id HIGHLY recommend this business to anyone seeking the most secure protection of valuable assets. Jennifer was also another name that deserves a mentionable as she was swift with initially getting me settled into the unit and super personable and knowledgeable.

Thank you Nickole! She was so professional and smooth with her "shpiel". She was not just perfect with her customer service, but was extremely insightful and knowledgeable with all my questions and concerns. With a great manager like her, this company has an illustrious future. Although, I will say it appeared that Nickole was under staffed this particular afternoon, their were two others waiting behind me, which only proved her great CS by easing the waiting customers with politeness and tranquility. Nevertheless, this location needs extra man power, at least from what I saw. Anyhow, with great customer service and good prices, this experience was hassle free and quite pleasant. Thanks again Nickole and Public Storage Richfield!

I had a great experience at this location. Linda was outstanding! Her customer service skills are definitely above and beyond expectations. I was about to travel the next day and had a very long and busy day, I came to the office 10 minutes before closing time and Linda was very patient and helpful. She stayed after hours to finish up paperwork and walked with me outside to show me the location of my unit and how to access the gate. It is common for employees to rush things around closing time but Linda took her time and made sure all my needs are met in a very professional manner. I would definitely recommend this location and Linda in particular to my friends and anyone else.

I needed a small, climate controlled, closet sized storage unit and found exactly what I needed at this facility. Nickole was fast, efficient and thorough in helping me find a unit, answering questions and completing the paperwork. She has also done an excellent job of followup. You are required to have insurance on your belongings in storage so I recommend you make sure you are familiar with what your renters or homeowners insurance policy covers before you book your storage, otherwise you will be charged extra.
