I found this place a few years back after hitting a pothole and my tire went flat. I have been going here for everything since whether its a basic oil change or major work. They are quick, efficient, friendly, and my favorite part being, they explain things before ever doing work. Ive even received calls from them when Im way over due on an oil change. Its the little things like a simple phone call, the smile when I walk in the door, and the staff the genuinely cares about the service they provide. I HIGHLY recommend the auto repair shop to anyone out there looking for a staff who cares and works efficiently to get your vehicle in working order again. They even offer rides back to your house while your work is being done! Thank you to Carlson Auto of Maplewood for providing such excellent customer service and always helping me with my many of vehicles!

Over the top customer service. As a woman, going in to car places and repair shops is not always fun. I felt no hint of "dumbing down" or being pushed over. Worked with Mark and felt like his only customer through the entire process. He genuinely cared and advised us based on what he would do. He didnt add in unnecessary repairs and in fact save us money by not doing repairs we originally thought we needed. He kept his word, kept in contact, and took the time to explain and re explained when needed. This is the type of business and type of people that are in it for the long haul. They do right by the customer, are an advocate for the customer, and follow through. Carson Auto and Mark will have our business here on out and I couldnt be happier to have found them.

After going to a major chain autoshop to get the ac for my suv fixed with no success I searched around and came across Carlson Auto. Took the suv in and talked to Mark the service advisor and told him everything that went wrong at the previous shop and what I knew could be wrong with the ac. Taking into account that this was around 5 pm and the shop closes at 6 pm plus there were multiple cars already being worked on, the guys at Carlson still took the time to inspect what was wrong with the ac. Alittle before 6 I get a call from Mark telling me whats wrong and that they will get it fixed. AC has been great so far and Mark was polite and knowledgeable. Couldnt be happier with these guys and the work they do. THANKS FOR THE THANK YOU CARD GUYS!

Awesome - Friendly people! Thank you Mark and Steve for all you have done on my 2001 Ford F150 & taking care your customers. I had taken it to a well known chain for service in late 2014 and early 2015, only to find they had created a larger problem. Carlson Auto worked with me, patiently, so that the "chain" auto services insurance company could look at the damages. They took their sweet time, and yet Carlson remained patient and very helpful. In the end we have a new factory motor installed and Carlson Auto has a customer for life! Loaner vehicle, nice clean waiting room and people who care! I would highly recommend the Steve, Mark and staff of mechanics at Carlson Auto of Woodbury. They have helped me keep my older Jeep in great shape and running well over the last 3 years. They will get you in for an appointment, provide a loaner car as needed, get the problem identified, make sure you approve of the needed changes and get the repair done on time. Their fees are very reasonable and seem to always do more then expected for the estimate while fully standing by their work. I will continue to have my car serviced by Carlson even though I have now moved back to Saint Paul where I work and live. Honest and reliable with integrity not found much these days!!!! Thank you Steve and the rest of the Carlson auto team in Maplewood for putting in O2 senor and clearing out my check engine light. So nice to have a place to take your car when you work next door. Another great service done by Gary from Carlson Auto in maplewood. I called up early wed mourning saying I have a coolant leak not sure where its coming from they said bring down and they ran a coolant pressure test showed that it was leaking from the water outlet also they found where oil was leaking too and replaced a oil pressure switch which was great I had no idea that was leaking also. The customer service was excellent! The quality of service was great! They were a very friendly and helpful team. I went in on 09/17/15 for a basic oil change and told them about a very annoying screeching sound my car was making. The oil change was fairly inexpensive. It was a very quick process, which was nice because I was waiting at the shop and had to wait far less long than I was expecting to wait. Oh... they also fixed the very bothersome screeching noise that would happen every time I turned the wheel. They fixed it free of charge...I definitely wasnt expecting that! Thank You guys for a great experience and wonderful service!

My coolant system/transmission cooler failed while driving on I-94. Carlson Auto was at the next exit, so I pulled off and parked my truck. This was Easter Sunday. I left my keys in the overnight drop box and called for a ride home. I received a call first thing Monday morning and they started working on my truck right away. With no appointment I expected at least a few days before they could even look at it. Diagnosis, estimate, and work was all done within two days. Excellent work, great people, and the final bill came in under the estimate. I couldnt be happier with the experience. Highly recommended!

I have been coming to Carlson Auto for years; I started to work on my own car so I havent been there in a couple years. The other day I had a leaky slave cylinder resulting in a dead clutch pedal as I was driving past so I limped my car into their parking lot. I waited for them to open and they helped me get back on the road immediately. They made me feel like I was the only customer; helpful, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I would not hesitate to bring my car here and constantly recommend them. A truly honest and trustworthy auto shop.

Nov 2015 my O/D light started to flash and was hesitating. 2002 Ford Van had many miles on it and was afraid it was going to be a major problem. It was late in afternoon, but, Mark at Carlson said to bring it in, they would fix my problem. They ended up replacing an oxygen senior (02). Problem solved! I was able to pick up vehicle next day. They even added brake fluid (at no charge) as my brake light on dash was on, prior to O/D problem. Service was awesome and reasonable charges. Thank you guys, you have a customer for life :-)

Funtastic K9 Training

Steve and his team are amazing. Best customer service weve ever had with an auto shop. They dont try to sell you more than what you need fixed on your car. They are attentive to details and you cant beat the prices they offer. Very reasonable compare to other shops weve been to in the past. I cant believe we just found out about Carlsons last month. They will be our "go to" shop from now on, whether it is for oil changes or bigger jobs, Carlson Auto is the way to go. Highly recommended.
