Im a proud owner of a 1996 toyota corolla with 330,000 miles on an original engine. I experienced an issue with delayed shifting on my automatic transmission. Thankfully, I came across Leo and Mark from Kennedy Transmissions. From the moment I made my initial appointment, I was greeted with kindness and respect by Mark. Once I arrived, Leo (the owner) took the car for a test drive and he was very forthcoming about what the options were, taking in consideration the high miles on the car. His mechanics ran the necessary tests and found that a cable needed to be replaced - that was the best possible outcome. The cable was ordered and a few days later I had my car back. Not only does the car shift like a new car and the repair price was absolutely reasonable but the team at Kennedy Transmission made sure my car was returned with a clean interior and kept me informed throughout the repair process. WOW...Last December I was told by the audi dealership that I needed a new transmission for $4900. I was calling around for a better price and a friend of mine who is a regular customer there said to call them. The guy offered to tow the vehicle to their shop for free for them to re-inspect and said they would be cheaper than the dealer if it did need a new transmission. 3 days later they called and said it would be $900.00 to fix. I was thrilled! They ordered the parts - fixed/ replaced them and some electronic problem and it runs like new!! they cold have charged me thousands, but they were honest and saved me huge money! I didnt know there were shops like this still around! The did a tune-up for me last month and as before the service was top notch! I cant say enough about how great these guys are!!!

I had a Ford Focus 2001,which has a transmission problem for the last Seven months. I took to different auto shops to seek a solution to my car, but it was not solved until I came to Kennedy Transmission which is located in Minneapolis, MN. My car is over shifted, sometimes the car has noise but doesnt move...The engine light was on. They diagnose the problem which cost me $240 which is a bit cost. But they diagnose the details and we discuss for further fixing with Leo, and on the next day we got a call that my car is good to go. I drove and check the car. Unbelievable!! The problem is gone, now my car is just doing great. I suggest Kennedy for everyone. Its great place with hospitality and serve me in timely manner!! Thank you Kennedy!! Martha Bekele May 2013

I recommend the Lake Street Kennedy shop if you have any issue, big or small. Ive used them a few times for light general repairs with success, but recently needed an engine replacement and was overwhelmed by how thorough, quick and detailed they were. Leo and Bruce are a credit to their profession. Knowing it was a big job for me to understand, they walked me through step by step, making sure that even before we started, other major mechanical parts(transmission) were in good shape, making my investment in a different engine worth while. These guys are super detailed, and meticulous, and I have found they only replace the parts that need replacing. Seriously, these guys are pros. It seems they have a steady business from repeat customers which really says it all.

After being told by the dealership that my mothers 2004 Chevy needs a new transmission to the tune of $3,600, I began calling around. A couple of transmission shops gave me a price of around $2,500 to fix it, but Matt at Kennedy told me that this particular transmission generally does not need a rebuild (only 75,000 miles, but it would not move in drive at all). I had it towed to them and they diagnosed the issue as a cracked pipe inside the transmission. They repaired the pipe and even saved it to show my mother and I. The total repair was less than $500 and the car drives perfectly. The service from Matt and Mark was excellent and they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Some of the nicest people I have ever met!

My recent experience was not the best, I took my car and after they charge me 150.00 dollars I ended up with no diagnose at all. they say they need to disassemble the whole thing and will cost me anything between 2500.00 and 5600.00, to me that is a little bit of an odd price range. I expected them to be able to diagnose my transmission and tell me what was wrong with it, since they are experts and should be able to find out. but again I am out 150.00 and still dont know what is wrong with my car While they might be friendly, they certainly have no idea about transmissions, and they suppose to be certified techs... sorry that was my experience

The people at Kennedy are some of the most professional people I have not only worked with within the auto industry but any industry in general. Matt and Mark and their team are extremely helpful and I cant speak high enough of their services. If you have to do anything with your car check with Kennedy first. These guys are incredible. I had a 2009 Hyundai Elantra that had its TCM/ECM go out and while it took us over a week to find the right solution, I am sure glad that we explored all options and that they didnt take any shortcuts in figuring out what had to be done. Runs great, will definitely return.

Charged me $150 to "diagnose" my tranny problem. Ended up not knowing what the problem was, and telling me it would cost me about $3500 for a transmission rebuild on a car that is worth half that price, plus about $2000 labor for a total of $5k+ I ended up finding a used transmission for $800 and finding someone to drop it in my car for $750 labor with a year warranty. These guys just wasted my time and money. If youre looking to get ripped off, then Kennedys is the place to go.

I went in for a transmission fluid check, which they did very very quickly for a last minute appointment. They were very understanding and explained everything to me that they found, theyd also checked on why I was having low fluid to begin with, and gave me estimates as to what those things would cost to fix and a rough time frame in which to do them best and what I should focus on first. The staff was excellent and kind and Id highly recommend them. Ill be going back

I took in my 2013 wrangler to have the front assembly and some other work done. I was so happy with the results and just to sum it up their work ethic and the customer service that Mark and Matt provided is not something I can describe in words. And for some reson I felt like family there. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND FIRST TIMERS TO TRY THESE GUYS AND YOU DEFINITELY WONT BE DISAPPOINTED ALI

I brought my car in with a question about a gasket that appeared to be leaking. He came out in the parking lot, diagnosed it, and told me how much it would cost. I didnt end up hiring them, but it was a sound diagnosis and a fair price. Most places make you believe the problems are worse than they are, and charge you more. Kennedy seems to be honest and fair.
