Highly price and not convenient. Need something from your box? Call a national switchboard, which will then contact the locally owned Smartbox (different ownership), and you make an appointment through a middle-person for a specified time, and you hope an appointment is available. Can you provide me with the phone number of the local, privately owned Smartbox business that is storing my stuff? No, you have to tell the national company what the issue is, and they will pass it along and have the local company reach you on their schedule. "Can I come out one evening this week after work to get something from my box?" No. It is closed at 5:00 p.m. But what if I cant make it before then, I work? Thats the way it goes. If you want a company to pick up and drop off your stuff for a short storage period between moves, maybe its okay. But longer term with the opportunity for convenient access to your stuff, a real pain. Oh, and after I began storing my stuff with them, the company MOVED to a different location, about half an hour further from my home. Great.

I currently am using SMARTBOX. Yes the boxes are a tad on the wobbly side, but I bought insurance for that reason... but now I am concerned that I will be charged a full month after only 4 or 5 days into a new monthly rental. Paying for services not rendered? That policy seems to lack scruples if not downright illegal. Sam, I hope you are wrong. I am typically very thorough when reading the fine print and do not recall any mention of being charged a full month. The delivery person said something very different that that concerning prorating monthly fees. I am about to call my Smart Boxes back from storage... stay tuned for how it all shakes out and the condition of my belongings. FYI - If you need to get in touch with these folks, be patient... they usually dont answer but will eventually respond via email or call backs if you leave a voicemail.

I needed some onsite storage and a friend recommended smartbox. They had containers for onsite storage but they were way expensive considering they would stored at my location, despite a call center that was disengaged from the customer and a website that doesnt work. Instead, I just went out a bought a used steel container for 1/2 half the price they quoted me. With the price of steel going up Im pretty sure Ill be able to sell it a year from now for almost the same price. Smartbox maybe okay for moving but definitely way too expensive for climate controlled or onsite long-term storage.

Boxes are very beat up, and cant even lock one of them because of the bracket missing. Also told to call a couple days in advance for pickup of the box, but they were too busy and had to schedule 2 wks out. So now our boxes will just be sitting in the back of an unsecured empty house waiting to be picked up.

Everything turned out well. I packed the boxes tight so nothing could shift. It is not cheap to store the boxes, but you are paying for the convenience. I could either rent a storage unit and haul my stuff to the storage location or load storage on my driveway. I chose convenience.

Job Well Done! Smartbox was flexible and easy to work with. They didnt overcharge me when we changed our order and they accommodated all of our requests. Thank you for working with us Smartbox.
