Excellent! I recommend Eliot Park Auto Service to any car owner, regardless of make or budget. Jim and the staff at Eliot Park Auto Service took great care of me and my car. I recently purchased a used 2000 Infiniti Q45, in a pinch after my previous vehicle died. The Q45, which I had thought was a great deal, soon after being purchased seemed as if it would be a maintenance nightmare, until I found Eliot Park Auto Service. I was able to schedule an appointment in the morning, and after dropping off the car, they drove me to work, in a premium vehicle, on time. They were able to complete all of the service and then some within my budget and ahead of schedule. Upon purchase, my Q45 was throwing a P1492 EGR/EVAP Purge Control Valve error, a P3025 Left Bank Knock Sensor error, in addition to a severely damaged front passenger rotor. Unbeknownst to me, however, there was also a massive fuel leak that Jim found, which I had been able to smell but not see. Jim and his staff were able to quote me a price a fraction of the cost of those I had received from dealerships and other private repair facilities etc. I elected to have them replace the front rotors and pads, and any requisite repairs for $200. The service was completed before I went to lunch and at the end of the day, they had informed me of my fuel leak, fixed this issue, and conducted a full brake service; all completely within my budget. Furthermore, they found a nail in my tire and fixed that for for free, gratis. This is the best experience I have had with a mechanic. Their service was superior and offered at the best possible price. My Q45 flies now, and whereas I had thought this car to be a lemon and a dreadful purchase, with the help of Jim and the service of Eliot Park Auto Service, my Q has shown itself to be a true diamond in the rough. I have already referred this mechanic to my colleagues, who were amazed that they drove me to work and conducted the repairs at such a reasonable price, and I hope to bring my Q back soon for more repairs and upgrades.

The first time i took my truck in to have them look at it they told me that i had low compression in one of my cylinders and that it was caused from either A) a bent valve or B) a broken valve spring. They told me that i would have to consider a rebuild or trying to replace my engine. I got a second opinion and it ended up ONLY needing new spark plugs and wires... The good reviews on google and their close proximity to my apartment aided in my decision to give them a second shot. This time (4 months after my first encounter with them) I called them to schedule an appointment to replace the starter. I noted in the call that i had found a starter at NAPA for $130.00 and i was told that they couldnt match that price, their price was $160.00. I thought, thats not a horrible mark up and that was ok by me. The part that is not ok is that they told me that it would take 3 hours to replace the starter. I have already replaced the starter myself about 5 years ago and it took me an hour and fifteen minutes. The kicker is that I have called around to other auto repair companies in the area and all of them quote something completely different!!! I had one place tell me that "the good news is that the install will only take 90min, the bad news is that the new part cost $300.00." That is the best quote i found. Eliot Park Auto Services quote was approaching $600 once labor was included. All i can picture is these crooks putting in a part that they get for cheaper than i can find at an auto parts store and it taking them about 45min to finish the job (because no doubt they have better tools and a lift to help them as compared to when i did it a few years ago) and they still charge an outrageous amount. All in all, these guys are crooks too and i have yet to find an honest auto repair business in the minneapolis area. Time to bring some tools to my apartment!

First time visit - I went to Eliot Park Auto with a couple of vague problems on a little BMW. Jim took the time to examine the car, recommend a couple of repairs and sent me on my way to decide what I wanted to do going forward as the car, although cool, is getting old and isnt worth a whole lot and at some point, a major failure will put it out to pasture. There was no pressure, no hassle and he was completely professional and honest. He actually did a couple of minor repairs for me while it was up on the lift. Not difficult stuff but things that I wanted to get taken care of but couldnt because it sits too low to the ground. A very nice gesture. Jim was accommodating, friendly, and more honest than I have ever experienced at any type of business. I shall return.

Finally found an HONEST mechanic. I brought my car in thinking it needed an expensive repair, I told Jim about it, and said to go ahead and do it, but just call me with the price. I got a phone call about an hour later saying I didnt need anything done to it. He TOTALLY could have let me assume I was right and had me pay for a repair, but he didnt. My experience with other places has always been they will always find something wrong. Plus, Elliot Park is fast and the work is quality. Unlike other car repair places in the area, Ive never had to have someone else "fix" my repair, as long as it was done at Elliot Park. LOVE THEM

Honest, fixed right, and good prices. We took in our Ford Edge on the recommendation of friends. We knew we needed new brakes and rotors, and we heard a hissing sound from the front left brake. John found the sound suspicious and did some research and found that we had a recall we were unaware of. They could have easily told us they would do the work themselves and charged us for an expensive difficult repair, but they let us know the deal, and fixed what they could that day for a good price. Well be going back there whenever we have problems. No pressure, no hassle, straight up service.

I had some work done on my front axels and I was very impressed at the speed that these guys got the job done. Jim went above and beyond working to find the parts at a cheaper rate. The gentlemen I picked the car up from, John I believe, was very friendly and just all around pleasant to talk to, just like Jim was. I definitely will be back with any other future repairs and will spread the word to others in the area to bring their car to this shop. Keep up the great work and the friendly atmosphere guys!
