I have taken my vehicle to this specific Precision Tune a couple of times. The first time was for an oil change and tire rotation. They changed the oil, but forgot to tighten the oil filter down tight enough and a day later my car was two quarts low. I ended up tightening it myself and adding two quarts of oil. Thank God I noticed it in time. They also rotated my tires which they did fine, but in formed me during the procedure they checked the brakes and notified me the front brakes needed to be replaced, that it wasnt safe to drive with the current brakes and should be changed immediately. Funny thing is I had the front brakes completely changed one week earlier at the dealership. I told them this and they said the must have confused my vehicle with another vehicle. The second time I took it there (dont know why I took it there a second time) was roughly three years later for a transmission fluid change and service, I had noticed a leak coming from the pan gasket. I dropped it off and picked it up at the scheduled time and went on my way. Three weeks later I notice the drip was still there and brought my vehicle back to Precision Tune to be looked at. They said the gasket was installed incorrectly and they would replace it at no charge. I told them I was displeased, told them I would take it to a different mechanic and asked for a refund. I then took it to a different mechanic, had the flush and service done and was informed that there was no way they performed any service on the transmission. The mechanic showed me the gasket which looked to be the original gasket, all corroded and torn. He also showed me a sample of the fluid which was brown and burnt. I forgot to mention, the second mechanic performed the flush and service in front of me so I know he wasnt lying. In conclusion to my long rant, the Precision Tune on Snelling Ave. and Jefferson Ave. is a HORRIBLE place to have your car serviced or not serviced in my case.

Took my 2012 Ford Fusion here last week as it had lost power while driving, and had stalled in the middle of I-35W. When I dropped my car off, the person manning the desk was very nice, polite and friendly. That is about the only nice thing I can say. They never called with an estimate, but did call at the end of the day with a $300 bill, which I paid. They stated that they ran a bunch of diagnostics, updated the computers and cleaned a censer. They said if it continued to act up that the Throttle Body would need to be replaced. 1 star - They never told me that the Throttle Body was a KNOWN problem with this Make/Model/Year, something that I had to figure out on my own (and Ford with pay for it under 13N03). I got the impression they expected me back for the $700 repair. 1 star - Price of Diagnostics - Lets be honest, paying for diagnostics is reasonable, what isnt reasonable is when Ford ** The COMPANY ** (not the dealership) says that the cost of their diagnostics is so far over reasonable that they reimburse the vehicle owner the difference. 1 star - Updated the computers without asking, also, the dealership said this was overpriced as well, and that it wasnt necessary. Overall 1 Star - As a company in this industry, it is expected that you do just a tiny bit of research on the vehicles in your care. It took me 5 minute to located the Customer Service Program 13N03 that covered the replacement of the throttle body at no cost to the owner. Instead you gave me an estimate for the part replacement and labor. It is also industry standard to call the client with an estimate, and to ask about optional things such as computer upgrades. Look, nobody wants to spend more than they have to, and trust me, you would have earned my long term customer loyalty if you had been fair and dug a little deeper. I dont mind paying a $300 bill, what I do mind is being overcharged and charged for unnecessary services.

I honestly have had the best customer service - ever - here. Weve had the unfortunate luck of having a few lemons of cars over the years, and it wasnt until we moved to the MacGrove area, and discovered this location, that we actually didnt dread bringing the car in. They offer free inspections, have always been up front and honest before doing any work, oil changes have been quick & painless, and have referred us to our dealership when the issue was covered by our warranty. The latest issue we had brought the car in was a whirling noise. We brought it into Precision Tune on Snelling, and they told us right away that it was a transmission issue, and knowing we had an extended warranty on the car, said they recommended we head directly to the dealership. When I got to the dealership, it took them over an hour to do an inspection, and informed me it wasnt the transmission, and sent me on my way. A week later, the transmission blew, and we were without a car for almost a month. I really was thankful that Precision Tune clearly knew what they were talking about. While they didnt perform the work due to trying to help us save some money, they gained my trust even more by showing they did know what the issue was.

Want to thank Jeff and his team for the excellent service. Had a bit of a headache of a problem with my car but these guys helped me through it. I brought my car in when my power steering was out. They replaced the power steering pump and gave me an option to replace the harmonic balancer as it was wobbling, they did not force the additional repair upon me which I liked. The day after the repair my car began overheating and I jumped to the conclusion that one of the mechanics caused this to happen. I brought it back in anger telling them they did something wrong, they explained that the repairs they did had nothing to do with the cooling system but still were quick to come outside and see what was going on. Turns out I just need a coolant flush which one of the mechanics performed on the spot at no charge, even though it was unrelated. As I was leaving I noticed my power steering was not working again! The power steering pump they put in was faulty. Just my luck. Jeff told me they would service it again for free as the pump was under warranty. Cant thank these guys enough for keeping me on the road.

I wasnt going to write a review because obviously some people have good experiences and bad ones but today i say....Stay far far away from this place the owner/manager Jason buys cheap parts and overcharges for these parts. I got my brakes serviced at the snelling location and due to warranty returned to this location with a faulty brake shoe that squeaked hours after my brakes were serviced, returned multiple times for continuously squeaking and now less then 6 months later a leaking caliber that i was also told was faulty. In which Mr.Jason felt i was giving him attitude and threatened to not replace the faulty caliber under warranty and that i could take my car elsewhere. I dont mind paying 568.39 for brakes and calibers but you could at least get the job done so that i dont have to come back 4 times. If you want great service and a job well done Midas on west 7th street does an amazing job servicing the needs of your car and then some and also brings you over to show you what they do which precision hides behind a banner.
