This place still gives me nightmares about getting my hair done. I was new here 3 yrs ago from California, where i had an amazing stylist since i was 15 years old. This place looked professional so i gave it a try. I didnt think it would be such disaster to refresh my a line but apparently it was. I had one person starting my haircut which was doing great but then she passed me over to someone who seemed like shed never done this before, and the results showed. I had a med a line with brown hair and i just wanted a trim and blonde highlights. I told her Dont touch the front length, But she didnt care. The coloring was okay even though i told her and tried to confirm a couple times that i wanted as much blonde as possible i ended up with a Mrs. Swan hair cut that ended up costing $350 why so much you ask? Because through out the conversation i told her i had gone platinum blonde in the past and i just wanted to get my hair healthier again. she told me about some treatments they provide at their solon and all i said was oh okay which i guess means do it! All of it!! And was told only after everything was done. I couldnt even afford that at that time i had 200 with me since i didnt think my request was much at all. I ended up having to leave my id so i could go find an atm and get more money i was so embarrassed. Not once did she ask me if i liked it, until someone else came over and said she did great, then asked me, and i said not really. When she asked me why, i told her what i asked for and showed her the pics i had ready and showed my stylist also, and she just looked stunned and walked away. I was so disappointed i felt robbed. I have a really round face so that cut did not fit me at all i cried all the way home. I havent gone anywhere else since then out of fear of what they do. Im sorry i cant tell you the names of those who did this but i hope if ur going to get ur hair done here that this doesnt happen to you. Give them precise instruction on how you want your hair to end up. Im writing this now because im starting to look at other places to try out and this experience and all i know i shouldve done like telling her no i didnt ask for this or talking to the manager about it just stays in my head. Hope this helps anybody else to be better prepared or not take the risk at all

I was really afraid to have my hair cut, as usual. I have been a more Great clips or Fantastic Sams kind of person, being a student. But I became tired of my no movement, boring hair style and decided to do some review research for good places in the area. Enter Tease Salon. I saw that everyone loved Carols cuts and thats just what I decided to do! I was very nervous but Carol made sure to have a good consult - asking me the right questions and making sure she listened to what I wanted! She accommodated my request of not washing my hair (as I had a conditioning treatment done earlier that day at another salon and couldnt wash my hair). Instead, Carol worked around it and straightened my hair and styled my hair, so much so I had the Kardashian haircut! I was pleased. Although my hair is curly, so the haircut will only surface if I straighten my hair, I still have some good movement in my curly hair everyday! The receptionist guy was also very pleasant and friendly over the phone, and the energy in the salon was great! Couple negatives I would have to mention is that: They are pricey and I am a student, so I will not be able to afford them too often. Also, the night I went in, I was the only client - I usually like a busy place... Also, their shelves and cupboards at the cutting stations, seemed to have a lot of dust. This may have been exaggerated at one glance due to the dark furniture color. Place could use a make over with a fresher look... But, Id give this place 3.5 - 4 stars in all.

I am really impressed by Tease Salon. Its hard to find a great stylist in the Twin Cities that can work with Ethnic hair. When I called Tease, Carol and her staff were extremely accommodating. She was clear that they didnt have a large amount of clients with Ethnic hair but was confident in her ability to give me the results I wanted. Her staff went above and beyond to stock the appropriate products making more than a few trips to Ethnic Beauty Supply Stores. Not only has she done an AMAZING job ( check out my profile pic - I just took it last night after my appointment!) but she used the opportunity to train others on her methods. The feel of Tease reflects its location just South West of Downtown Saint Paul. There is a great artistic vibe and warm comradery between the staff. Joshua, the Front Office Manager greeted me by name and offered me beverages throughout my visit. Everyone I came in contact with was pleasant and professional. I have to say that while many other salons dread the idea of diving into the uncharted waters of textured hair, Tease jumped right in, showing that they have more than just the looks of a great salon but the passion for (all types of) hair to back it up.

My name is Rachel. I just moved to Saint Paul from Minneapolis, leaving my hairstylist, and needed a new one. My new residence is just down the road, so I called to check out Tease. I heard great comments from the receptionists about Amber: both when I first called for pricing, as well as when I called to schedule an appointment. I went in yesterday with a basic outline of what I wanted, which was to follow my old stylists direction; and, Amber took it a step up! She did a fantastic job with the asymmetry, disconnecting the layers, using skill and technique. She was very diligent as she worked. She did better than my stylist in Minneapolis... I was so happy with the results that I brought my mom in for a cut the next day, and her hair looks great! No more cheap "great clips" for her. LOL;) I would also like to express my appreciation for the "new client discount", as times are financially tough right now. So, thank you Tease! I will definitely be back; and I will be recommending Amber to my friends. One more thing...the owners, John and Carol, are the best! They are so kind, and Carol has quite a knack for making accessories. So, kudos to Tease!

I made the mistake of going elsewhere for a cut/color and made an even BIGGER mistake of trying to fix it myself. (by stripping out the color and cutting my own layers to cover up a bald spot that was created from all of this over processing) YIKES so embarrassing to go in there & get it fixed! Needless to say it was a tall order & it took two of them to make it happen THANK YOU Shauna & Carol. Fast, accommodating, fun & sweet girls who really like their jobs & cared about the outcome. I already have my future appointments scheduled (I cant stop touching my super-soft hair) Shauna you are no longer a Jr Stylist because you turned a HOT MESS(bald spot, people!) into Mila Kunis. On another note; the artwork in there is really cool & the jewelry is one of a kind. The salon does a lot for the community by hosting breast cancer benefits & supports local businesses by doing fashion shows.
