This complaint pertains to both u haul in general and this horrible location. Made reservation over phone 2 weeks in advance, at which time they took my CC number. Manager called 5 days in advance and left VM. Returned his call to confirm 3 days prior. Let them know i would probably be there at 9am. Showed up at 1130 and was told my reservation was cancelled, truck rented to someone else and no other trucks available. Apparently if you dont show up within an hour of your reservation they cancel (and have option to charge $50 cancellation fee). Manager josh explained it was like a doctors appointment, if you dont show up for your timeslot you miss your appointment. I let him know that in every other rental instance - car or hotel - youre reserving a set amount of time, in this case 24 hours. So what if I show up late, Ive reserved 24 hour window beginning from the contracted start time. The biggest issue is that based on renting a million cars over the years, never expect rez to be cancelled like this rediculous policy. That and the mgr Josh was completely unsympathetic. Oh, and they didnt bother to call and ask if I was still planning to pick up. Horrible policy. Shame on you corporate. Horrible handling of situation. Shame on you University Ave location.

I drove out to this store to buy a wardrobe box. When I got home I realized they had given me the wrong sized bar that goes across it to hang your clothes and it was unusable. I called in and they were very apologetic (outsourced customer service) and they said they would compensate me with a free mattress bag ($4.95). But when I got to the store the general manager was a major jerk and interrogated me about what had happened for 5 minutes. He scoffed at the fact that customer service would ever offer *such a generous* compensation for his employees mistake. He begrudgingly let me have the mattress bag for free but was the biggest a**hole the entire time. I WOULD NOT recommend this store to anyone.

These guys rip you off with the way they make you pay for fuel with truck rentals. They give you less than a full tank, and then tell you your responsible for filling it back up to the spot you got it at. They provide a wildly inaccurate tool to help you estimate how much fuel you need and threaten a $30 service charge (+ fuel charges) if you dont get it right. Their estimate was so far off that I filled the tank for them costing me $10+ over what I should have owed them. They refused to adjust my bill to account for the extra fuel I donated to them despite having previously assured me their fuel estimate would work. Ill go to budget or another competitor next time.

Called 5 days ahead for a 10 am pick up, I was an hour late, I was in a panic, U-Haul had a truck ready for me in less than 20 minutes, Great service people, easy, quick, and the price was more than FAIR! I will use this U- Haul every time I need a truck.... A1 experience. Yes you pay for the fuel you use, as you should.. Seems to me that the people who are unsatisfied hit a bad moment, or dont understand rentals.. or they dont understand people, I was a great customer, I got great service and even walked out with a rebate, and I was Late Picking it up and late returning the truck.. All I can say is THANK YOU University U-Haul!

Customer service was horrible. I had to wait 1 hour for truck to be ready even if I was there 10 min early of my reserve pick up. I was told that if I return it late or come late to pick it; I would be charged $50 for late return and plus $30/hour. Asked if I can be to upgrade to bigger truck and the answer is no. I was charged for pads that I didnt use. I was charged $.99/mile even if the website says $.39 or $0.49.They think that they are doing you a favor by renting to you. I know that they are busy but that doesnt make them to ripe off the customer and charge extra and be mean to customer, it includes the manager.

It just seems like a scam to me, and I could be wrong, but seriously all the ratings are either poor to awful, or excellent, hummmmmm... could something be up here, could the excellent reviews be done by the owner, or friends of the owner? If you read them they look like an owner justifying terrible service and crazy fees. I rented 3 Uhaul ATs (auth transports) and they destroyed the suspension of my Class A motor home. Tires blew out and they refused to reimburse me. I am going to test them on propane service service and if they do a good job i will edit my review and change it. Just very suspicious.

One of the employees was rude and disrespectful. I am disabled and have a handicap sign for handicap parking but the only handicap parking was being used so I had to park a far distance and one of the workers told me I cant Park there because there was no room but the parking lot was empty and he even continued to argue with me and swear at me after his manager told him to stop. Horrible customer service. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL. THAT GAY BLACK GUY NAMED CLINT IS A REAL DOUCHE BAG.

I received very poor customer service from this branch. All I needed was a propane refill, but the worker was not going to fill up my tank until he had all his reservations checked out. I waited 30 minutes to get my tank refilled and even the customers who came after me got their U-Hauls and drove out of the parking lot even before the worker touched my propane tank. I ended up leaving because he told me that I needed a reservation to get my tank re-filled.DONT go to this U-Haul. They dont deserve your money!

Trailer had came off the hitch and rammed into the tailgate of my brothers truck i was borrowing at the time. When I went to put the car on the trailer, the trailer was not secured tightly enough to the hitch by their employee. It caused a big dent and scratched the paint on the tailgate. I had given them the wrong year of my truck at the time of renting the trailer. Now the manager says he wont pay for damages. I have to file a claim through a third party now.

I called to rent a trailer. The guy answer, said something very fast and then put me on hold. I couldnt even understand what the guy said or if I had called the right number. I was on hold for 5 minutes listening to some recording about how Uhaul had great customer service. I hung up and called back. The exact same thing happened. I guess this place is so busy they cant even take a reservation.

I thought the customer service at this Uhaul was topnotch. I made a reservation online for a trailer and went there two days in advance to test my wiring and to make sure I had the correct hitch. When I went back to pick up the trailer they did everything. I dont know why everyone is bitchin. All of the employees that I dealt with were very friendly. I would have no problem recommending them.
