my check engine light came on after my car started and died within seconds the other day. We are you were planning on taking my car to go out of town this weekend leaving on Friday, and so we needed to get it in ASAP even though I wasnt having any other trouble with my car starting later that day. My husband originally told me to call doctor to see about getting the den, and they were going to charge me a hundred fourteen dollars for a diagnostic test to be run for my check engine light. On the way there, I googled cheap diagnostic testing and found Aamco and that they did free check engine light diagnostic testing. So I called them right away. I was floored by the amazing & over the top customer service!! I explained the situation and that we were going to be taking the car out of town in two days. He asked me originally if I could bring it in the next day, however I really wanted to get it looked at that same day. So he had me bring it by and squeezed me into his busy schedule. The diagnostic test came back with a code and he wanted me to bring it in the next day so that he could look at it further before we went out of town. I brought it in the next day about an hour or so early, told him that be didnt need to rush to take a look at it, however, he squeezed me in way before my appointment was even scheduled. They did further diagnostics on the car, he called me with what they had found. He said that they could not get the car to do what the code had signified that it would cause the car to do. He suggested that I come pick the car up and drive it around town and do some highway driving, to see if I had any issues with the car. He also called the local dealer and wanted to see if he could get part of the part to put in my car as we were going out of town, and in case we wanted to err on the safe side. The dealership would not work with him, and the part that was going to have to be bought was going to cost us close to $1000. He still strongly suggested that before paying $1000 for the part to be put in, to drive it around and if it had no further issues, that it should be fine to drive up to Hannibal. I was blown away that he did not try to sell me something that I didnt need! Also, he did not charge me for the further diagnostic testing and time that it took to look at my car. Upon picking up my vehicle, I told him that if there were ever any more issues with my car or my husbands car that we would be bringing it to him. If you are looking for an honest, affordable, and very willing to accommodate mechanic, Aamco Ballwin is your place to go!!!!

I had a broken wheel well cover on my Acura MDX and had taken it to the local Acura dealer, where I have always had my SUV serviced, to have it checked out. They quoted me $283 dollars ($98 for the part, the rest labor) to repair the wheel well cover, but then also found a oil pump leak ($1500 to repair), and a rear shock that need to be replaced ($1000). I declined to have any of the work done at the time, simply because I was not prepared to drop $2800. At the urging of my husband, I called AAMCO Ballwin to get a quote on the same work the Acura service department recommended. Sean at AAMCO gave me a quote of $880 to seal the oil pump and replace the rear shock, and suggested I order the $98 wheel well cover from Acura and install it myself (or have my husband do it), as it is an easy installation. I dropped my car off at AAMCO, and picked up a rental car at the Enterprise next door (so convenient), well prepared to leave my car at AAMCO for the day. Sean called me a few hours later to tell me that aside from the broken wheel well cover, his technicians couldnt find anything wrong with my car - nothing to fix, nothing to replace. I promptly picked my car up and was charged $0! Shame, shame Acura. You lost a very loyal customer. Not only will the Acura never get any more of my business, I will only use AAMCO for future services, and will shout far and wide what a great place this is!! Thank you AAMCO!!!!

The guys at AAMCO made the repair process on the transmission for our truck as painless as possible. Sean was very up front and honest with us thru the whole process. What I loved most about my experience with AAMCO is they did exactly what needed to be done to get our truck back on the road as soon as possible. As most people do I did shop around before taking our truck there and a competitor quoted me triple the time and money stating they would have to do a full rebuild without even seeing my truck!! Lucky for us the guys at AAMCO are true professionals and figured out we did not need a full rebuild on our transmission just some seals and bushings. I 100% recommend the guys at AAMCO for car repairs, from now on they are the first and last people I will call to work on my vehicles.

Car has been back and forth from here for the past 6 months or so. They have replaced two engines since they "forgot" to put oil in my initial engine after doing internal work. They replaced second gear, and now my 3rd and 5th gears come out into neutral when coming off the gas. This is the final straw though, I have had the same lean code for months now which they have to fix since they warranty the engine. Apparently though last week they saw me driving my car erratically and now are not fulfilling the warranty, and will not do any more work. They COMPLETELY LIED about this, and could do this to anyone. PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. It is not worth the time or the hassle, take it to somewhere reputable that actually does decent work and cares about their customers.
