I cant give 0 stars, so dont be fooled about the 1 star service. Mediacom has literally the worst internet service I have ever used. I pay for 50 MBPS and I get somewhere between 0.58 MBPS-7 MBPS. The customer service is terrible, they cant solve a single problem. They pay people to literally say, "have you tried turning it off and on again?" If you want your bill compensated for not receiving your service that you have paid for, they will credit your bill $4.00. They have had a monopoly on the market in Excelsior Springs, thus avoiding customers leaving them. Fortunately, 2 ISPs have just entered the market in ES. I will be switching within the week, for speeds 50x better, and only $8.00 more. Ive had speeds averaging about 3 MBPS for the last month, with nothing solving the issue. I have run every test, fixed any issues on my end, and tried every troubleshooting method available. Yet my speeds remain the same. I cant stream a movie, play a game, or even watch youtube videos. The worst part is the absolute lack of compensation, support, and service. I would suggest everyone avoid this ISP. I have no comment on the TV or Phone aspect, but I assume they cant be much better, because they dont have the monopoly on those services. I hope Mediacom fails, stocks fall, and the service the provide becomes the poster child for not what to do in the ISP business. Good riddance.

The service sucks...if there were lower than 1 star to give them, they dont even deserve the one star I gave them but you have to select a star. They cannot fix any problems that you have - they send tech after tech out who cant find the problem or just walks behind the house and then drives off. Constant problems with reliability and downtime. They have had a monopoly on broadband in my area for years so I guess that gives them an excuse not to give a rats crap about their customers. New Dawn Fiber is now in town and in mid 2017 will have gigabit fiber available for my area - I am begging them to get out sooner because I want to fire Mediacom soooo bad. 2/16 Update - Continue to have issues with their service - and if you are a Mediacom customer and you post a bad review on them, you can rest assured their manager will read them and share them with the techs as I found out first hand - the tech came out a few weeks ago and said how their manager showed them my bad review on Google - very professional. and the service call from yesterday - tech never showed up and falsified that I cancelled the service which I never did. New Dawn Fiber cannot get here fast enough. I will cherish the day when they drive Mediacom out of Excelsior because this company is a zit on the rear end of this community.

I personally wouldnt give it a 1 star rating , heres why ordered service from them and was told that they would be here at my home to hookup internet, phone and cable on the 14th of dec., two techs came in and didnt do hardly anything, and was told that they would have to come back and finish up the job , and was also told that they would have a tech com out and fix the main box in my back yard , three days later one of the "techs" came out Sat in his van and then left and didnt fix anything , it took another crew a week to come out just so I could have basic local channels (which you can get from a signal converter and a regular antenna ) we keep getting told that it will be fixed anywhere from 24 to 48 hrs ..... here it is Christmas eve and I still have fuzzy local channels, no phone, and no internet ,AND A HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED FAMILY cause of there laziness and lack of customer service if its not fixed by Monday I will be contacting another company for service and seeking legal reprisintation for days i have missed of work cause of having to be here so they could work on it and never showing

This is a horrible company! I have had the most unprofessional horrible experience 28th this service. I have had a month now, have had problems from the beginning. I spent hours on the phone, asked to speak with a supervisor and was connected to a voicemail. Called again had to wait long periods for a technician to come and never fix the issue. My issues are still currently not fixed, and today a tech was out in front on my house as I was leaving. Come ho,e and all my services are not workng, all I was told us there are no reported issues and they would try to find out why my services are off. I would not request this to ANYONE, I needed this service for my schooling and entertainment and its been such a struggle I have seriously cried. I am currently looking for new service.

If you have a choice make sure NOT to take medicom. The Internet is always out, the customer service is horrific, and the response time is pathetic. We had it installed back in April of 16 and they still havent buried the cable in August of 16. We are biding our time now until United is offered in town. Anything is an upgrade from mediacom especially if you are stuck dealing with the office in excelsior springs. What a ripoff. *update* another week and another mediacom outage, this time four days so far. We called in Friday and they have told us the nearest service date is 2 weeks out. Is that acceptable to anyone? Remember as soon as you have an account number you dont matter, they would always rather install new members than service existing members. What an embarrassment.

I hate this company first I had guys come out to set me up they didnt even finish the activation so was on the phone with customer service then the next day I get a call from a them saying they are on the way to my house to hook up my service because they had no record of them being at my house the day before now a week later nothing will connect I call they reset my stuff dont reactivate it so I called again for them to tell me I have to wait 5 days for them to come out to by house to check it WTF get ur stuff together if there was any other providers in my area I would pay double what Im paying now just to have a company that knows what they are doing

Had mediacom install when we bought new house last august. Have had to call them out there on average at least once a month. DVR HD boxes have had to be replaced at least 3 times in two different rooms. Phone service wasnt working the first month we got it, and every time they have had to come out they bring out used equipment! Was told the only areas that will get new equipment is KC area! My money is just as good as the next guys. Am ready to switch back to Direct TV!!! They were out last week, brought out another box, and a day and a half after they came out the box is messing up! Dont waste your money on this company
