I went to Meineke because they had two good online reviews as opposed to other brake shop’s bad reviews. I had let a “friend try and fix my brakes but they started smoking after he was through with them. I took my van into Meineke and told them to fix the back brakes and check the front. Meineke told me that they would check all of the brakes. I gave them my keys, left and came back the next day. They told me that brakes had burned. They gave me a price quote of: -1x Labor: Rear Brake Service (R&R Shoe Set, ADJ HDW, Machines Drums) 97.50 1x R New Brake Shoes 25.20 1x R Brake Drums 145.99 1x R Wheel/Cyl-Left 32.97 1x R Drum Hardware Kit 27.48 1x Brake Fluid HD Premium 39.95 1x Labor: Flush Brake System 40.00 Sales Tax 18.60 Total 437.69- I didn’t realize that this quote was for the back brakes only... after they said they would check all of it. I realized this after buying. My bad for not paying attention After they “fixed” the brakes they told me that they found a a problem with the load proportion valve and the master cylinder Meineke quoted me 530.10 for the load proportion valve. I found the proportion valve for 220.50 online. Overpriced? After I picked my car up the first time, the pedals went to the floor. I quickly returned and told them what was wrong. They “fixed” it free of charge. Two to three days later, the right hand rear brakes that they just fixed locked up and was smoking. I called them up and and told them it was smoking. They towed it their shop and told me that it was looked fine. I told them to replace the wheel cylinder since the brakes had been smoking and would have burned the rubber down and it would have been quite unsafe. They told me they would take care of it. I went back to pick it up and drove it for about a month and the brake pedals have started going back to the floor. I’ve lost brakes completely for 10 sec. twice. That’s twice too long. I took the van to Big O and they said that the their was an oily substance in the brake lines. They didn’t mention any proportion valve or master cylinder. I’m taking it in for a third opinion. These brakes have been a nightmare. Summary: Checked Brakes- Quote- Bought- More Quotes- “Fixed”- Brought back car three times in 2 mo. $437 for back brakes alone didn’t fix it. I won’t be back...

There are 2 things I look for when going to a mechanic shop. 1st is the attitude and knowledge of the employees and the 2nd is the quality of the work and the ability to fix problems. With this said I have been to a fair amount of various shops in the springfield area so I can say this shop has one of the best welders I have came in touch with. The welds are done right, they are some of the cleanest tig welds I have found. I brought my 02 mini cooper in for a new resonator install and ended up with a cat back exhaust done(I needed and wanted this as it was my idea if they had the time). Needless to say I will recommend them to everyone I know with exhaust work. I have not had anything else done there but I will most likely come back with anything I cant do myself in the future. These guys were really fun to hang out with and extremely polite and nice. This type of customer service just isnt found anymore. Especially in corporate companies which is why I was so shocked and surprised! I would definitely recommend making the trip to these guys over the location they have on battlefield just to be around these mechanics.

Meineke is an outstanding full-service repair shop. I have patronized the East Sunshine location for almost a year now and have nothing but good things to say about this shop. The staff conducts a comprehensive inspection on my vehicle every time I bring it in, and if there is an issue, they will visually point it out to me and explain the issue with it. If there ever is an issue after a service is performed, they will make it right, free of charge. The staff at this location is always professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They not only take care of their clients vehicles, but the clients themselves by offering excellent service at a price that is fair. They offer many discounts and specials (which means I often save money), along with interest-free financing for services $200 and over. Meineke is my first (and only) choice for vehicle repairs and maintenance!

Meineke on sunshine has provided me with the strongest and most reliable auto care experience consistently for all of my car needs in Springfield. I have dealt with many sketchy auto centers throughout my years in college, but these guys/gals came through every time. The team is always friendly, knowledgeable, and quick with service. They are also very genuine & trustworthy, which is very rare to come by these days. I didnt have anywhere else to go when my car broke down, and they got it in the very next day for an alternator/battery replacement at a reasonable rate. They also gave me the quickest oil change and car inspection Ive ever had, with a helpful student discount. These services were both much cheaper than I experienced with competitors. Thank you guys for everything, continue doing what you do!!!

Did inspection on sons van. Tried to say that several things failed but were within legal tolerances. Trying to sell parts you dont need and extort you into buying them by sayin youll fail if you dont. All 4 tires had legal tread (had itchecked out) but they said that one had damage, wouldnt show us where and tried to say we NEEDED to buy ALL 4 new tires from them. Said there was a crack in exhaust which turned out to be a scratch. Said tie-rod end was out and tried to say that it cant be replaced at home. Its bad enough that the state has this "safety" inspection racket but do the shops REALLY need to try to rip off people simply because theyre of a different race?

Trip Saviors! While on a trip I had a front brake caliper start to fail, at noon, on a weekday, 500+ miles from home and our home dealer/service folks. We initially went to the closest dealer, whos response was, "All our guys just went to lunch, itll be an hour or more before we can even look at it. Several hours, if we even have the parts." Walked out Googled Meineke, and found Adam Baker and his crew. Adam said "Ive got a bay open I can start on it NOW" And they not only fixed my truck (likely long before the dealer) but picked us up after wed Ubered to another part of town and brought us back to our repaired truck. Trip Saviors!

Went in for a state inspection while I was in town and was waiting for my daughters appointment. I was a walk-in and asked how long a state inspection would take. They said 45 minutes so I asked if they had an opening and they said they could fit me in right then. 30 minutes later I was on the way to my daughters appointment and the inspection was free. The mechanic that helped me was training the front desk woman and he was not only polite to us but he showed none of the annoyance that most people have training a new person. You could tell that everyone there enjoyed their jobs and it showed in their work.

I have went there numerous times for oil changes, vehicle inspections, tire rotation, brakes, etc. because rates are fair and service is timely. Employees are knowledgeable and personable and even when my wife has went for service they treat her with respect. For the one with the poor rating and saying the rates are obnoxious - it sounds like you didnt do your homework and ask the right questions BEFORE you left the keys with them. If something doesnt seem right I just make sure I understand and talk with them about it. I have been very satisfied with Meineke in Springfield.
