BUYER BEWARE We purchased a Groupon for an oil change and wiper blade replacement. We have never used this place, so thought we would give it a try. Big Mistake!!!! When we drove home after the oil change, the engine was running rough, and wouldnt even start at first. The wiper fluid, which yesterday was fine, suddenly had a hole in the hose and would no longer squirt fluid on the windshield. The engine light came on later in the day. We have an older car, but it has low miles for its age, and has been well taken care of. We just had the car serviced last week for a safety inspection by another shop, and with the exception of a belt replacement, checked out okay. We took the car back to the shop we usually use, and the computer indicated that the engine had been started WITH NO OIL IN THE ENGINE! I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I plan on telling everyone I can to stay away from dishonest and unscrupulous shop.

Brought my truck in for a bad wheel barring. 4 days later when I jacked the truck up, 2 of the 6 lug nuts fell completely off and the remaining 4 nuts where all loose. Cant recommend them if they can’t even put a wheel back on properly. *****Update; 3 months later I developed a loud rattle coming from the wheel they worked on. Jacked up the truck and discovered one of the three nuts that holds the wheel hub to the steering knuckle was complete loose (only thing keeping it from falling out was the rubber boot). When I spoke to the owner after the first issue he assured me everything is put back together with torque wrenches and to spec.. well obviously this is not the case. Now I have to go back and redo all the work that I have already paid them to do so I can make sure everything else is put back together properly.

Ive been taking both my wifes and my car in to Jeffs shop since 2003. Jeff, Lonnie, and all of his mechanics have treated our cars as their own. Every time we take our vehicles in, even for oil changes, they give us a complete breakdown of our vehicle and what may need to be addressed in the future. There have been two occasions where major maintenance was needed to be done, and both times, they came in under the estimate they gave us. Weve never had any catastrophic failures on any of our vehicles since bringing our cars in. The shop is always clean and the employees are always courteous, knowledgeable, and treat us like family. My boys love going to the shop to watch the vehicles being worked on through the windows. As long as we live in the Saint Louis Metro area, Coffey Automotive will be our mechanic.

I had my car inspected for safety and emissions at another dealer. The car passed emissions, but failed safety for many issues that just did not seem possible. In telling my story to a coworker, she recommended Coffey. When I phoned for an appointment, I was greeted with a "how can I help you" attitude. The parking lot and waiting area is very clean. If you decide to wait for you car to be serviced, they provide coffee or water, and a TV for viewing. I did not mention that another dealer inspected this car because I was interested in Coffeys "second opinion". The owner, Jeff, spoke with me to say he only found one safety issue, and had to reexamine the car again because he could not find the other issues that were stated by the previous dealer. Thank you Coffey for your honesty...I will return.

NEGATIVE REVIEWS MADE BY ANONYMOUS PEOPLE (ie. "A Google User") SHOULD NOT BE LISTENED TO NOR REGARDED AS A VALID REVIEW!!! That being said, my experience with Coffey Automotive was very convenient, the pricing was extremely fair, and I wouldnt take my wifes car to ANY other shop than here. I spoke with Jeff and he was friendly and honest with what I needed, and didnt try to pressure me into buying extra things like airfilters and windshield wipers, rather, he noticed they needed replacing and asked me once if I wanted to change those out, when I declined he understood and stuck to the issues at hand, which were my tires and brakes. My hard earned money well spent here! Thank you, Jeff!

Coffey Automotive is very dishonest and unscrupulous. My father helped my son purchase his first vehicle, a 2003 Mazda Tribute for $4000. My son had saved his money for several years and has lost it all. Coffey stated they had replaced the engine but the vehicle was not running properly the day after purchase. My father insisted they replace the engine, which they did, but it still did not run properly. Then the transmission went out - which we had repaired elsewhere. The car never ran right, even after thousands of dollars of repair. We feel that Coffey Automotive purposely sold us a lemon and then refused to take responsibility. I would never, ever recommend this place.

I have been using Coffey Automotive since he opened the shop. I have had many vehicles and they all have spent time in the shop. I have always been satisfied with the work that has been done. Mr. Coffey has always made sure that my cars are running perfect. I refuse to go anywhere else. I have referred many friends to Coffey Auto and all continue to go back to him except for one and he moved to FL. He commented to me last week he wish he had an auto shop in FL like Coffey Automotive. My children bring their cars to the shop and we are all pleased with the work. Thank you Coffey Automotive for your fine service.

My 98 Dodge Stratus Check Engine light came on and they diagnosed it and repaired it in less than 2 days....They contacted me and told me what was wrong before doing any work. The Check Engine Light came on a week later and they diagnosed it and repaired it without charging me....PLUS they recommended other work to be done on the car like injector cleaning and when they finished with my car I gained 3 to 5 extra mile per gallon. Great company and would recommend them to everyone. Car was fixed fast and right the first time....Cant get service like this from the Dodge dealer! Very Satisfied Customer, G. Dobrzanski

Didnt respond to request for quote online or scheduling an appointment online. Had to call to get quote and make appointment after not hearing back. Quote was entirely off base. Apparently quoted me for spark plug parts, but not the labor to replace them. Why on earth would a mechanic just quote me the part? If I wanted to do it myself I would have called Autozone/NAPA. Didnt quote me for the clean air induction fuel kit, but once I was picking the car up I was told it is part of the tune up. The work is done well, but spending $250 more than I was quoted is really disappointing.

My experience with Coffey Automotive was a pleasant one. I took my car in for state emissions and inspection after setting up the appointment online. Upon arrival at the scheduled time, the customer service guy could not find it online. My initial thought was that I would be asked to come back at another time but I was wrong. He got my car in for service and I was in and out in no time. I think that was wow! If you want to have wow service, just try Coffey Automotive you would be glad you did.
