Simonik has deceptive & fraudulent practices and did not keep their word on multiple counts. Their "guaranteed rate" does not mean anything. Their weighing wasnt honest. Buyer beware! Their sales rep Matt seemed courteous & professional, gave us a "guaranteed not to exceed" estimate of around $12k. I also purchased a "guaranteed rate reduction" just in case our weight would come UNDER their estimate. But a week after they picked up our goods and put it in storage, he called to say that the weight came way above (about 4,000 lbs) above their estimate. Apparently, they did either a very poor job estimating our goods, or purposely underestimated (by a couple hundred items?!), just to get the job and then "stick it to us" later. They wanted me to pay an additional $3,500+! Not having researched all my rights yet, I said to Matt that I would be willing to work out a number in between and asked for a new quote. Instead, he sent me a change order showing no compromise on his part, but asking me to pay the additional $3,500+. Apparently, he had no intention of absorbing any of the error in his estimate. I asked to speak with the president Jim, who then insulted me on the phone, yelling, calling me NAMES (unbelievable!) and threatening me. ("I can charge whatever I want to for that extra item, you wont get your things back until you pay, etc.") He was unprofessional & a bully. He wasnt willing to work out a compromise until I showed him my other quotes, so I did, and in the end, I ended up paying about $1,800 (about 11%) more than the original estimate and signed the change order, just to get my things back. Next, the weight ticket. I was not present at the first weigh-in after pick-up, but did ask for copies of the weight tickets. But not being able to trust in the integrity of their weighing, I did ask to be present for the weighing at final delivery. Matt seemed reluctant to have me at the weighing, and tried to talk me out of it, but I stood firm. And guess what? The weight of the delivered goods came in 850 lbs LOWER than Simoniks weight. How do you think Simonik got a weight 850 lbs higher than the actual weight? Even their weighing was dishonest! Im so disappointed & disgusted at the levels of dishonesty in their company, that I cant even speak with them. In the end, I got my things back, from a mover that didnt keep their word and even falsified their weight of my goods to charge me more... but it it took a whole lot of stress & fighting to get my things back! I will never deal with them again, and warn others from doing so. The packers, loaders & unloaders worked hard and seemed to do a good job. Not sure how the unloaders at the Simonik storage facility did; a few of our items did arrive broken, and we will be filing a claim. On delivery day, the unloading team, led by ANOTHER Allied Van Lines driver (this agent was from NY) did a good job, and we tipped them well. Overall, Allied Van Lines might be OK, but PLEASE do stay away from their local agent Simonik Moving & Storage!! :(

Ive moved 10 times in the past 15 years, and each time I did it all myself with a U-Haul and some friends. Finally for my most recent (and hopefully final) move, my wife and I decided that we were going to hire some help. We both spent a lot of time researching and we werent thrilled with what we were finding. A lot of moving companies came with mixed reviews along with some horror stories in the typical online review spaces. I decided to have Matt from Simonik Moving stop by for an estimate since their Google reviews were decent and they were based out of Bound Brook which was fairly close. Matt was very friendly and professional, and he had a quote for me based on what we were moving within about 20 minutes. The quote was reasonable and in the same ball park as other companies, so we set the moving day with them. On the day of the move, our movers showed up ahead of schedule and ready to work. I was a little nervous about someone else handling some of our more fragile possessions, but they put the time and effort in to make sure that everything arrived in one piece. The unloading process went just as smoothly. All I had to do was stand back and point them in the right direction every once in a while as they were coming in. They even helped to rearrange our bedroom furniture a bit while my wife and I tried to decide on a final arrangement. All three guys were friendly and worked efficiently. They even finished ahead of schedule. In short, I will definitely recommend Simonik Moving & Storage to any family and friends that move in the near future. If youre trying to find a company that is reliable for your move, you should definitely give them a call.

I used Simonik to move in September 2017. From the moment one of the movers walked in the door and happily said, "Its moving day!" I knew they were going to do a great job. Our driver was Sean K, and our crew was Ish, Gordon, and Carlos. They arrived exactly at the time we asked them to and were upbeat, positive, and extremely respectful of us and our things. If there was anything they werent sure about they politely asked and continuously said thank you when I gave them directions. They were not afraid to tackle any big furniture pieces and actually said at one point, "All right lets do this!" which made me feel at ease that they had such positive attitudes and knew what they were doing. They hustled all day long and kept working right until they were completely finished. Once we got to the new house, I told them that we had the carpets cleaned and they immediately put down a red carpet on the floors and plastic on the carpet quickly and efficiently. They put together all the furniture they had taken apart and asked a few times before they left "Is there anything else you need us to do before we leave?" I cant thank them enough for their hard work and how respectful and energetic they were. They truly made moving day as stress free as possible and we kept saying it was the best money we ever spent. Also, Matthew was a pleasure to work with and was spot on with his estimate so there were no surprises. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

I was very unhappy with Simonik Moving. I just used them for a cross country move. Everyone on the sales end was very polite and helpful but my furniture took a beating. Four out of five pieces of my bedroom set arrived damaged. Many other pieces were severely damaged too. A leather chair had so much stuff piled on it that it broke. Boxes that I paid Simonik to pack arrived crushed and open. Much of the furniture smelled like diesel fuel. The unloading crew was even worse. They just dumped all the furniture, didnt inform me of any damaged pieces and took off without assembling anything. Walls and carpeting were damaged during unloading as well. They left a mess and bits of packing material were all over my development. One of the unload crew took a bite of a banana I had in a fruit bowl on the kitchen counter and put it back in the bowl. Disgusting! they clearly dont care about their customers. When I called Allied Head Quarters to complain a service rep kept the apologies coming but offered no assistance. Just a Verizon style apology treadmill. I paid for extra insurance and submitted claims for the damaged furniture about a month ago. A claims adjuster inspected the damage but its been a month and I havent heard from anyone since. I would never use Allied or Simonik again. What a mess
