Customers beware- DAN IS THE RUDEST PERSON AND LACKS TOTAL BUSINESS ETIQUETTE. I called today to inquire about moving a moving estimate. To start, I had politely introduced myself and explained my purpose for calling to which Dan, rudely spoke over me and said "alright-where is your stuff and where to you need to move it." I looked past that as I understand he is likely a busy man and we went right to discussing the terms. I imagined here, he would have been a bit more customer-friendly-he was not. He proceeded to discuss the terms (none of which is has in writing - this is all done verbally) and once he finished I had asked him if he had these terms in writing. He had said "this is why I asked you to have a paper and pen and to write it down." He was snappy and condescending. He proceeded to ask me if things were clear. I had mentioned I was just asking for things in writing so I could discuss with my SO. But, since I could tell he was getting up set and very mean I told him everything was clear and we continued on. Dan mentioned something about the contract not being drawn up until a move date was discussed, so I interrupted him said to him " So I dont waste your time, can I ask you if the date I am looking into is even available?" Well, you would have thought I asked the most terrible, irrational question in the world! Dan proceeded to rebuttal with the most disrespectful, arrogant, rudest response and lack-of-business etiquette I have EVER encountered in my years of dealing with moving companies- He responded, no, in fact he YELLED, "well if you have to have it your way then just forget it!" and Mr. Dan the Affordable Moving Man hung up on me!!! So, future clients, while perhaps the company itself MAY be decent and warrants positive reviews, unfortunately, DAN has absolutely ZERO people skills. And I will NEVER EVER RECOMMEND this company to anyone just based off of such poor customer service alone. I will take my business to PEERS, where they have been kind and have been open to listening to my concerns and questions...not to mention, are able to provide things in writing! Cheers!

I just wanted to share my experience with Dan the Affordable Moving Man. I called up and spoke with Dan to get an over all idea of their moving service process and a quote. Dan went over everything and explained what I could expect from Dans moving service. After going over everything I decided to move forward booking my move date. The next day we planned to meet up at 9am, the next day Dan came over and to get an idea of whats being moved and I must say Dan was on time and thats a plus(actually I was having issues with my phone and Dan was very patient and understanding) .On moving day again Dan was there and on time! Dan and Mike came in and began the moving process. They loaded my ideas and off we went, when arrived they did a excellent job unloading and placing everything where I wanted it in the home. Dan and Mike did an awesome job!! Nothing lost Nothing broken! I hope to never move again but if I do I know what number Ill be calling for my moving needs. Id refer Dan to anyone looking to moving, they did a great job!!! Keep up the great work guys! Sylvia

For the love of all that is Holy, PLEASE do not contact Dan. If I could give him negative stars, I would be very happy. My mother contacted him to ask if he could simply take a few pieces of furniture from our home to the dump in our complex. After an aggravating attempt to find his correct contact information, my mom left him a message. He then left her a voice mail in response in which he never identified himself, nor his business, and yelled, "WELL IM CALLING YOU BACK!" Okay, Dan. Calm down, everything is going to be okay. When my mom finally spoke with Dan over the phone and he literally yelled at her, telling her he could not help her as if she was absolutely inconveniencing him. I have never heard of a more unprofessional man or business. I am honestly shocked at the number of five star responses. All family members paid to impart nice reviews in an attempt to cover up the true feelings of the general population? I think so. Save yourself the gamble of getting the "angel Dan" versus the "devil Dan" and contact another moving company.

Second time using DTAMM. Just like the first time I hired him when you first call him he will go through his terms and conditions and he makes sure you understand them before continuing. He is very clear and upfront with his terms, I for one do not find it rude and its actually very professional. He is also up front with the cost, yes there is a 4 hr minimum during which he will cover the rates depending on how much there is to move and how many guys will be needed. I knew exactly what I would be paying and at no point were there any additional costs or hidden surcharges for anything. The move went flawlessly, he took great care with my belongings, wrapping up what needed to be protected. At the end he even helped me assemble some furniture which he did not have to do and did so at no extra cost. Currently my wife and I are in temporary housing and will not hesitate to use Dan again when the time comes to move to a permanent location.

I found the add for "Dan the Affordable Moving Man" in the 2015-2016 phone book. It seemed affordable so I called to get a quote. The man that answered must have been Dan, although he never identified himself. He answered like I was calling his home instead of his business. The add says "SERVING ALL NEW JERSEY", when I told him where I was located he immediate cut me off and said "no, Im too far for you". Im not sure how that is when you "serve all of NJ". He was rude and unprofessional on the phone and I was discouraged and turned off immediately due to the way he spoke to me in such a short time. I would NOT suggest anyone even call this moving company.

I wish I could give a negative stars review because this guy deserves it. I called the number provided on the website and the guy who answered acted like I was interrupting his day. When you answer business phone with "Yeah" you really dont give off a professional feel. I shouldve seen it coming, but he was rude and talked down to me like I was an idiot. If its such an inconvenience for him to answer his business phone maybe he should get a secretary. Though with how he treats potential customers I can definitely see he wouldnt do enough business to afford one. Theres no way I would trust this guy to help me move. And hopefully nobody else will either.

This past move was the third time weve used Dans moving service. All three times Dan and his guys came through for us. Each time they showed up on time and ready to go. This past move was a little more difficult due to the timing of our house closing. We only gave Dan a days notice to move a 3 bedroom house and a full storage unit in a completely different town. Dan was able to help us through the dilemma and get us in our new house the very next day. I cant say enough nice things about Dan and his crew. If youre looking for a hardworking group at a truly affordable rate you can depend on Dan the Affordable Moving Man. Jerry P.
