You should know what youre getting into. . . Ive been a renter for a bit because it is convenient to me. The toilets are rarely cleaned and stocked with necessities like hand towels. Enter at your own risk, and hold your nose. Maintenance is nonexistent in the common areas. There are too few carts to move your items. If you move at the beginning of the month, plan with your own dollies because there wont be carts available for you. . . guaranteed. Youll get whacked with a usurious late fee of $100 if you are a day late with your payment. When you call the 800 number to complain, you will not get through to a real human. They will raise their rates virtually every year, and if you ask for the rate that new customers get, they will tell you you have to move out and move in to another unit to take advantage of the offer. The person behind the desk has no authority to handle your complaints; youll have to call the 800 number for redress. . . good luck with that. If this is a short term rental, hold your nose and sign. If its for anything more than a few months, find someplace else.

This review has been almost a year overdue, was suppose to write this review last year. The facility is right off of the highway and could not be missed. Security system is up to date, facility is clean, well lit, and climate controlled. While I was researching local storage places, their prices were the most competitive. If you need help with anything, the staff is more than happy to lend a hand. What makes this place awesome are the people. Due to my work schedule, it was very difficult for me to find the time to move my things into storage . Cristian very thoughtful and made sure that I was still able to move my things with the limited time I had. He even sold me a masterlock and showed me how to use it! While I was unloading my heavy furniture, he offered to lend a hand without me asking! I come back to pick things up and Cristian and the rest of the staff knows me by my first name! I came for the price though I stayed because of the staff. If Cristian ever leaves, my loyalty will likely follow.

After researching a number of storage facilities and visiting 2, I chose Public Storage in Hawthorne NJ. Its very conveniently located right off Rt. 208. I booked an appointment to see the available unit I was interested in, and received a call the day before confirming the appointment. First impressions are that it is very clean and the staff courteous. We had a quick discussion about what the needs for the unit was for to verify that I would be shown a unit to suit my needs. I was then shown the unit I reserved and have to say again, very clean, secure and comfortable temperature. I mention the temperature only because the unit I was looking at was in a Temperature Controlled area. I don’t know it’s the whole place it, however the area I was in was. The units are easily accessible and there is also a storage elevator available for use. Overall I was happy with the unit and rented. I will let you know how it goes, however; so far so good.

Visited this location to store some extra things around the house until I could organize and sell some things. I wanted a 5x5 which had a promotion attached to the first month but James, the manager, thought it would be tight. I wanted to go to the next size up, but James told me that although that would work, I would end up spending more money for the initial month. So, he suggested a 10x15 for one month, which is more space than I need at the moment and it had the $1 special, but it will give me the space to organize comfortably. Then after that, he told me I could downsize to the original 5x5 I will need after getting rid of some things. I am very pleased with not only the facility, but the level of service and care you receive for your things and your budget.

I am quite happy with being able to have somewhere to keep my household belongings while I find a new place to live. Im grateful for the protected, climate controlled spaces. The staff is friendly, especially Fatuma. Shes always cheerful and smiling. Have met Adam who is also helpful and nice. My one regret is that, at this property, people use the back entrance as a dump. It is difficult to load storage items on the provided carts because there is so much dumped furniture, boxes of paper refuse, that it is impossible to get close to the curb. There are no signs saying no dumping and no monitoring of this back entrance. Ive seen dumped stuff cleared once, but it continues to be a community dump. Sad, really, that a few would ruin it for the rest of us....

While I certainly cant speak for all the "Public Storage" facilities, I must say that my experience at the Hawthorne, NJ facility was exceptional. The facility was well lit, clean and seemed secure (i.e. cameras, security codes to access area, etc.) More importantly, the person on duty (Liz) was incredibly professional, courteous and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring I had a great experience. She not only walked me to the unit I was renting to ensure it met my needs, but she also made sure I understood everything, including their buy-back program on any storage boxes I purchased. Bottom line, if you need some extra storage space and youre within a few miles of this facility, I strongly recommend you use them.

We worked with Liz at Public Storage in Hawthorne, NJ on 8/5/16. Liz was very thorough and took the time to answer all of our questions quickly and efficiently. She provided us with great customer service and helped us get checked into the storage facility quickly. Our movers were able to unload and pack our storage unit quickly thanks to Lizs guidance. We also were pleased with the price of the storage unit - we are renting a 10x10 unit for $149 per month plus taxes, insurance and fees. And, because of a deal we found online, the first month was half off. We would use Public Storage again and recommend their services. Thanks to Liz and PS for a great experience!

They have very few carts available, I always see people running around the entire facility searching for carts. People desperately wait for others and go to strangers unit to borrow carts just terrible on that. They also raise rent like crazy. Its not even a year yet that we have our unit here and they raised it $50 more. I used to pay around $280 now they made it $330 thats just nuts! Not regretting on moving to a different storage place this month. This place is ridiculous and I couldnt even finish moving because they dont have any carts not even in the front or back of facility.

I recently rented here, and I immediately received great customer service from Shakia. She answered all my questions. She was very patient because I had a ton of questions being that I never had a storage unit before. The location is clean and well lit. The downfall is its very pricey compared to competitors and there are limited moving carts. I went in the office to complain about no carts and shakia said " I have a VIP cart waiting for you ms. Smyth" . Amazing personality and I was Very surprised she remembered my name. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
