Rip off . If you want an honest mechanic look elsewhere. Brought car in for diagnosis of a suspension problem , told me they checked everything top and bottom ( including sway bar links) but still couldnt find the culprit. charged me $50 anyways . thats fine no problem I paid them like a fool . But what upset me was I when brought my car to another shop in town ( not trying to name drop but its AA on solano ) they diagnosed it and found that it needed new SWAY BAR LINKS !!. Hmm did G&J auto even look at my car ? So I got my car fixed at AA and they did it in a timely matter and at an affordable price . I dont know if my case was an isolated incident, but if you do take your car here its a gamble . Maybe theyll do a what theyre suppose to or theyll rip you off like they did to me. so beware !!

German and Japanese are the worst mechanics i have taken my vehicle to!!!!! I took my car to them cause i needed to replace the engine, they replaced it but, as soon as i got it out i found new issues, the speedomoter didnt work,the car was stalling, check engine light was on, the radiator was leaking coolant, and i then proceeded to take it back numerous times, only to find that nothing was getting fixed. The final time i asked them for help they messed up my radiator fan, they continued to try to charge me, but i have finally had enough of paying only to receive my car still broken. within 1 year of goin back and forth to German and Japanese, Ihave spent around $6,000 or more. Not to mention my engine falls on the road! I dont recommend anyone to these so called mechanics/technicians.

Ive used German/Jap for services from oil changes to a new timing belt on my 2006 and 2005 Jetta TDIs. My last service was superb to say the least; I was told by a dealership I was in need of a new turbo. I took my vehicle to German/Jap for a second opinion (without telling them VW advised of a new turbo) and I was beyond pleased. Within an hour of diagnostics they discovered my problem was a busted hose to my turbo and not the turbo itself. My car was repaired and has been running beautifully since. I personally plan on using this location for all my future mechanical and maintenance work seeing as they are honest and dedicated to their customers needs. Thank you, German/Jap.

Do not take your car to these idiots! I brought my 2004 VW TDI in for an oil change and a week later the camshaft and some lifters needed replacing. It took weeks to get the car back. I went to pick up the car and was told to let the car break in. it will be FINE! Less than a week later, my car blew up going back to G&J. They did not fix the problem the first time. My engine was now totally destroyed! I had to find an engine for my car since they couldnt use the internet. I finally got my car back FOUR MONTHS LATER and it still has problems! I wouldnt take my car back to them for any reason. They are MORONS! Find another shop to work on your rig, not German and Jap!

I regularly take my vehicles (previous BMW X3, current Mercedes ML-350) for maintenance at German & Japanese Auto Repair. Only once was the repair out of their scope where I had to go to the dealer in El Paso. I find the staff courteous, efficient, and reasonable -- ESPECIALLY when comparing repair costs to BMW or Mercedes Benz dealerships. Plus, the shop is much closer to where I live.

This shop has serviced my isuzu, audi and now honda over the years. Had a problem with a water pump timing belt replacement on my Honda. It was under warranty and fixed at no cost to me. They took the car immediately. They stand behind their work, and give the customer a fair deal. Cant ask for more than that.

The guys down here have helped me out a couple of times with my BMW. Once when my fuel pump went out and another with a worn out bushing, both times I drove off the lot very satisfied with their work. I highly recommend going here if you have any issues with your car !

Quality of work may ber okay but he failed to give me a written estimate despite my repeted requests, and when the final bill came if was almost 50% more than his "verbal" quote. Seems like a crook to me. Oh, doesnt warranty his own work either!!! Judith Wheeler
