I took my 1995 Mercedes E300D all the way up to Briarcliff Classic & Imported from Queens, NY, based upon a referral from another garage for a problem that I was experiencing with my engine coolant levels declining too rapidly. After the car had been there for a reasonable amount of time, I was told by Briarcliff that I had a cracked head gasket, and that in order to fix the engine, it would cost approximately $3,000.00 to take apart and file down the cracks in the head, reassemble the engine and "did I want to go ahead?" After doing some research, I found a local Queens mechanic who took my car, did some simple testing and surmised that I had a hose link that had come loose and now needed to be replaced. Total cost with labor was $100. Had I gone ahead and done the fix with Briarcliff, who knows if they would have discovered the real problem, which was very insignificant. It made me think that they didnt even run a proper check on my engine, and had I "gone ahead" I wonder if they would have told me that they were wrong and only charged me for the small hose piece that needed to be replaced. BTW, they charged me $60 for "labor" -- but, all of these experienced mechanics working on expensive cars couldnt have possible missed the real problem, could they? No, Im pretty sure that I got charged an expensive parking lot fee and that no real diagnostic was performed. Oh wait, they did remove something from the bottom of my car, a shield, which, without asking...they THREW AWAY.

I have, over the years, had BCI keep a SAAB, BMW, Acura and VW running. They do excellent work-they fix what they set out to, honestly advise what needs doing or not. They have kept my BMW on the road for over 300k, and they have fixed botch jobs by Bedford Acura. They are also all very nice folks, and put up with cranky customers like me ! Bob and his crew know cars, love cars, and wont over sell you. Run, do not walk, away from the dealership if you drive a euro car, and stop over at BCI. That stupid problem...they can fix it, and not by throwing parts at it randomly. Oh, and if you want to modify that car, they can help you there too.... Unconditional recommendation on all levels.....and no, Im NOT related :)

Bob Millstein, Leo, and the guys at Briarcliff classics are truly the best at what they do. They meticulously went through my 1948 seemingly hopeless Hudson and breathed new life into it. When something went wrong, Leo knew exactly which nut to turn, which tweak to make. They understand the complexities of how the mechanics of a 70 year old car operates.I have no doubt my mind that this car will last for another nearly 70 years.Bob has a very unique way to do business, and that is to have me as the owner of my Hudson to keep in close contact with Leo for regular updates. Bob encourages a very personal experience. I would never hesitate to buy another classic and bring it to Briarcliff Classics and Imported.. A+++

Purchased a 1980 MGB ltd last summer - needed some service /updating. Found Briarcliff thru my local MGB club. Not the most convenient for me as I live on Long Island - but most certainly worth the effort. Super knowledgable and very open/direct about issues and options. If you want quality service and expert repairs - and can accept that you get what you pay for ( quality work is not cheap) - you cant go wrong with Bob and Briarcliff. My MGB runs great, has extra punch/performance - and Bob was nice enough to offer pick up/ drop off at train station.

Briarcliff Classic and Bob Millstein are simply the BEST. I have brought cars to Bob and crew for almost 30 years. They fix things right the first time, every time. No corners cut, no shortcuts. Bob and crew have taken care of my cars and my childrens cars. I also bring track oriented cars to Bob and crew. Safety is of paramount concern with track vehicles. Bob and crew are vigilant about pointing out any item that might raise concern. I have never been disappointed.

I drive a restored 1966 Corvette that occasionally challenges with unusual mechanical/electrical problems. Recently I flat bedded my baby to BCI for a very challenging "wont start" problem. I literally worked on it for months during the winter to no avail. Well presto, after a few days with BCIs wizards my baby is back in action! The remedy required careful diagnostic skills that is a BCI specialty, so I highly recommend the Team at BCI. Thank you gentlemen!

Excellent service and attitude - Bob and his team love classic and imported autos and no surprise conversations I have had with other customers have shown that if you care about your classic (whatever age) BC&I care about it too. - good work done at a fare price in April 2015 - highly responsive to assisting with some externally caused damage (kids are back from school) in June 2015 - Highly recommend BC&I

BCI headed by Bob is a repair garage with a conscientious and knowledgeable crew. I’ve known Bob for more than 30 years and over those years he has lovingly taken care of the various vehicles I’ve owned: a 356 Porsche, a Saab 96, a ’55 Sunbeam Alpine, an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV, and a Mercedes 190SL He is presently rebuilding my Jaguar XK150. If you want a job done right then bring your car to BCI.

Good clean shop, courteous mechanics including proprietor Bill Millstein, we have two M-Bs and a Toyota Rav4, and theyve taken care of all three. Important as well, the prices are moderate. Just as important, they explain whats wrong and how they plan to fix it. A find.

I have been going to BCI for 25 years. I currently own a late model Audi that they work on and service for me. They are always helpful and accommodating. The work is guaranteed and I am always satisfied.
