This place is close to my work. Every couple of years I forget my bad experience and go back for convenience. They are not overtly corrupt (fix something not needed on purpose), but my experience is that they are incompetent, give a wrong diagnosis and make unnecessary repairs anyway. They over charge (seconded by my insurance adjusters opinion) and their tire quotes cannot be directly compared to others because they leave out balancing and other costs. I was aware of this and I still fell for it. Once they gave me a break job quote. When I expressed my shock at their excessive price, they offered to do the job for half their original quote. This was a more competitive quote, but I was still able to get it done for less elsewhere. If you have to go here, my advice is to not do any repairs other than the ones you knew you needed before your visit.

I had my car towed to this Firestone after I had a flat tire. They informed me that my car was unsafe to drive because of several needed repairs. They listed that I needed all new tires, rotors, calipers and brake pads. These repairs would cost over 1400.00! I declined their services and told them I would take my car to my own mechanic as I was an hours drive away from home. I had to sign a waiver to take my car home. They strongly suggested I have it towed. As we all know how much towing fees can be I decided to drive home. I was due for an inspection so I gave my mechanic the list of needed repairs this Firestone stated. After a thorough inspection, my car passed! Although the staff were very nice, they are not trustworthy! If you do decide to have repairs done here I suggest you get a second opinion! They obviously work on commission or sales!

I have been a customer of this place for few years. The treatment has not been nice but I used to go mainly for checking or replacing the tires given that they are close to home and I thought they were technically acceptable. I went there about a month ago to check the reason for the tire pressure lights being on. I was told that my tire pressure sensors are not functioning properly and need replacement which will cost about $450 for generic sensors instead of my original sensors. I postponed the replacement and I went to the dealer to check the sensors. The dealer checked the tires and the sensors and told me all what I need is to add air to my tires because of the cold weather. I am not sure whether the wrong diagnosis is because they are technically incapable or they wanted me to pay money for something I dont need.

Beware of these guys. Not trustworthy and they are ripoff. We came today to see which tie rod end was bad on the car. They told me it needs inner and outer tie rod ends and wheel alignment. They quoted us at $571 after tax. (Shop labor rate is $110 per hour -they say 3hrs work to work on the car) they couldnt do it because they would have to order the parts first. I went to Johnstown MAVIS and have them to looked at the car for a helleva .. they told us it doesnt need inner tie rod end .. it only needs outer ones and wheel alignment plus front wheel balanced. Quoted us $230 (shop labor rate is $84 an hour - they did everything in an hour and a half) I told them what FIRESTONE was going to charge us for the work .. the manager from MAVIS was shocked to hear how much.

I had my car repaired here a year ago and had all the ignition wring and coils replaced, which I was grossly over charged for (over $800). This place charged me for parts that were never put in my car! Charged me for the highest costing ignition coil and put a low end nickle coil in its place. Now, a year later I am having the same issue I went in for and get to put an all new coil in my car because this place wants to scam people out of money. I am out $200 for an all new coil alone (not including labor) not to mention that I have spent around $1,000 trying to find the issue with my car because no one think to look at a year old coil!!! NEVER take your car here! You will regret it, trust me!!!

I have brought my Hyundai Santa Fe GLS to Firestone in the past for brake and tire service. A week ago I brought my vehicle in for a NYS Inspection and was told that it failed. I was given an estimate for over $2000 for repairs and was told that the repairs could be done immediately so that my car would pass inspection. Fortunately! and I do mean Fortunately I brought my vehicle to TWO other places, both Hyundai dealerships and advised them that the vehicle had failed inspection elsewhere. Both locations said that the vehicle PASSED but that they would recommend front brakes in the next 3-6 months. I had the second dealership do the job for less than $500.

Went to Firestone today after hearing a strange sound from my car. After evaluating the car, the serpentine belt and a pulley apparently needed to be replaced. They said it would be $500 and that the part alone would be $200. I called another garage who said they called another garage who quoted me $200 with the belt at $50. After speaking to Firestone again, they immediately dropped their total price to $350. All of the staff were friendly and it was a nice facility, but this struck me as outrageous. I opted to go with another garage.

Ive been here multiple times for oil changes, alignments, and tire replacement and have always been satisfied with service. Staff take the time to explain what issues they have identified and are even open about saying whether or not a problem needs immediate attention (as opposed to other shops that might just take your money for any repair they can claim you "need"). Although Im not a car repair expert, I feel that all the staff Ive dealt with are honest, friendly, and helpful.

I asked them to plug my tire since it has a nail in it. They said no problem bring it in. I know that the nail wasnt on the side wall. They called me back and said the nail was on the side wall. They tried to get me to buy a new tire. I told them not to take out the nail and ill come and pick it up. They Charged me for a vehicle inspection. It wasnt alot of money but they shouldnt have lied and charge me for something they didnt do. I will not be going back.

Overcharged for brake job and said repairs needed to be done to the sway bar linkages. Those repairs were perform less than 5 months before at another shop. Dont believe the good reviews regarding this shop. They are not reasonable though they present themselves as professional. Their true professionalism is in scamming customers into paying for unnecessary repairs.

This place is a total circus! Completely unprofessional in every aspect imaginable. Dont believe a word they say, especially when it comes to price. Word to the wise my friends, when dealing with this particular firestone, do your math and if your driving from far away they my not have what they say they have when you get there. So good luck with that?
