I don’t like to write bad reviews because I don’t want to hurt a business based on one bad experience. But in the case of clear incompetence and deception, I’ll write my second bad review in over ten years of online reviews. On the bright side, I learned about loads of bull you can experience when car shopping, so my experience wasn’t a complete waste of time. As to everything else… First, I called to ask if a Nissan original backup camera unit could be installed on a trim of a model that didn’t have one. After checking with the service department, I was told I would have to go with an aftermarket product mounted on the rearview mirror. When I spoke to the salesperson during my visit, I was told the opposite. Already I’m turned off because instead of the $300 or so dollars I was expecting, he says the console installation could run up to $2000. Not great, but forgivable. Second, about two days in advance, I told a manager I’d be in at a specific time. He said he would have the two cars I wanted to see ready for me. I called back about 20 minutes before arrival to confirm my visit, and they said they would make sure the cars were ready. When I arrived, no one was expecting me. One of my potential purchases was in the very back of the showroom behind about half a dozen cars. The other one was nowhere to be found. Incompetent and annoying, but not enough to trash a business online. Third, the salesman tried to tell me I didn’t know what “Certified Pre-Owned” means. He told me it meant his dealership was certified with New York State, and that the only warranty on the car was the lemon law. I showed him the Nissan website on my phone and the 84-month/84,000-mile warranty, etc. He still maintained it meant the lemon law. I showed him the Certified Pre-Owned logo in the ad for the car, and he pointed me to a sign—the equivalent of employees must wash hands before returning to work—hanging in the showroom about the lemon law. He ignored the sign on the other side of the showroom with the Nissan website’s information about the 84-month warranty, etc. Pathologically dishonest, and enough for a bad review. But wait, there’s more. Fourth, I said clearly and more than once that I’d be trashing the business on Yelp and Google, as well as contacting the Better Business Bureau and the Nissan corporation about false advertising and deceptive practices. I’ve worked retail and sales before. If I had heard this, I would have let my manager know immediately, and I would have done everything in my power to ease the customer’s concerns. This guy? Nothing. In true pathological form, he just sort of stood there as if he didn’t understand he was being criticized. In the final insult, I’m getting voicemails from someone in their office asking me about my experience. These clowns really need to talk to each other before they talk to customers.

I have never written a negative review in my life. For Bay Ridge Nissan i could not wait to get home and write this! First, it was my fault for not doing any homework on them. From Yelp to Google they have negative reviews all over the place. Once i started to read the negative reviews i saw that customer service was very bad here and they did not have any commitment on their words. So i had a negative experience with them before(2012). I still chose to give them another shot. I saw a used 2008 Nissan Pathfinder i liked, went in and test drove the car. I liked the car. I didnt have the down payment to purchase the vehicle immediately so i put in a deposit (check) to hold the car, Mena the person helping me said that he would hold the car. My previous vehicle was totaled and was brought out by my Insurance, the bank i financed my car with sent the lien hold over to my insurance and Bay Ridge Nissan had to verify that before giving me the Pathfinder. So the first day goes by and i send them the documentation that i had given up my previous vehicle to my insurance. He (Mena) said that they are verifying. I said ok, so i wait another day and he says that the verification process takes two days. So i wait about three days before i get the ok to buy the car. Mind you that all of these days i did not get a single call from Mena or Bay Ridge Nissan as to the status of the situation, very poor communication. I must have called them 20 times between the first meeting to the point when i attempted to pick up the Pathfinder. Then today i finally get an answer from Mena that everything has cleared and that i can come and sign the contract. I go to Bay Ridge Nissan to sign the contract. The person that is drafting the contract tells me that the car has been sold. At this point Im thinking that how can the car be sold if i had already put a despot for the car?? Then the "Used Car Manager" Ali comes to speak to us explaining that the car has been sold and that they have a similar Pathfinder for the same price but it has 20k more miles and navigation. We asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, he declined and said that he was the only person we could talk to. I guess i have to find out who all the principles of Bay Ridge Nissan are and email them and CC Manny Licitra and anybody else i can. Its such a waste of time for me to go back and forth with the communication for a span of a few days to find out the car was sold three days prior to me going in and attempting to sign a contract. Unless you have 30k you want to drop for a car these guys dont listen to anything. Go to Paragon Honda, best dealership ever.

Amazinggg customer service. Came in here today and decided to check out cars. At first, my family and I were just walking around randomly. Then, someone asked if we needed a salesman to help us out and we said yes and got one. Arslan Almaz was super helpful and amazing! First off, he wanted to make sure what our budget was so that we did not have to go over our budget. He also had told us that what we see on the website is what we get (price wise) and it was true! There was ABSOLUTELY no hidden fees. Second, he asked us what specific car did we wanted and we focused on the two types of car we were really into, Sentra and Altima. Then, he explained each class levels for the cars such as S, SV, SL, etc. He then took us out for a test drive and continued to explain about the features and specs inside of the car then allowed us to test drive. We then went back and had a little concerns on the Altima about its side mirrors. Arslan recommended us we could get a Sentra since it did have lower miles, lower price and had the folding mirrors. Afterwards, we were still attracted to the Altima. Therefore, Arslan helped us contact his best friend to ask him if it was possible for us to modify the Altima so it could have side mirrors that would be able to push in. After all of this, we were getting ready to sign some stuffs and we had concerns whether it was more expensive to transfer our license plates over or to get new ones. Arslan then helped us contact his other friend and confirmed that it was cheaper to just transfer license plates. While we were getting ready to pay, our family were having trouble gathering our payment all together so my dad had to step out to get more cash to pay for the rest of the payment. My dad took quiteee a long time ( approximately an hour) but, with the professional service that Arslan had, he sat there and waited with us patiently and chatted with us and made sure we were ok and asked if we needed any drinks. Then when my dad came back, we continued with the insurance person and finance manager. After all of this, we were just about to bring our new car home. But we figured that we only had one license plate and two cars and was unsure how could we possibly bring both cars home. Arslan kindly suggested that he could drive with us to bring the car we drove to Bay Ridge Nissan home and then helped us unscrew the license plate from the old one and drove us back ( likee whattt. Where else can you find this amazing customer service?!?!?) I would definitely recommend my friends to come here in the future!! Once again, thanks Arslan Almaz!
