I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience. I had never been to a Mavis before and made an online appointment at the Geneseo location indicating the preferred tires. I arrived at my 9:30 appointment to be told that the truck with my tires had broken down and was two hours behind. I understand that breakdowns occur but why was I not called to be told? They then requested that I return in two hours when the truck was scheduled to arrive. I returned at 11:30 and was told that the truck had arrived and my tires were in. I then sat in the waiting room for an additional hour before my car moved into a bay. In the meantime I was up sold to an alignment. They were able to “discount” my tires so that the alignment would only cost a few dollars extra. I was told that if my car did not need an alignment they would not charge me. I finally left at 1:45 with new tires, an alignment, a bill that contained the quoted price for the tires which was not a “discounted” price, and no alignment report. My husband requested that I return to Mavis to get an alignment report because every shop with a computer alignment can and should provide the alignment report. I returned within 48 hours to be told that they only saved the reports for 24 hours, and they could not print at the time because they were “out of ink”. Neither of these were valid excuses as the alignment reports are digital and there is no reason not to save them for longer than 24 hours and “no ink”?? Really?? Buy some ink. I insisted they put the car back on the machine so I could get a screenshot of the current alignment settings. While on the machine a tech found the pre adjusted settings from my original visit, so much for not saving anything longer than 24 hours. They were not trustworthy and constantly changed the story when pressed. They are taking advantage of people who do not know enough to ask questions about their cars. I will not be returning to a Mavis. I encourage anyone who is told they have a laundry list of problems to get a second opinion. And if you get an alignment done make sure you get both the pre and post adjustment printout… or a screenshot. As for Mavis corporate thank you so much for fielding my call and telling me that a customer service rep would call me back about this matter. Still waiting….

Cons: I showed up when I was told and it still took them over 3 hours to do the work. I didnt wait in the waiting room which is probably why. My coworker warned me about the same issue. I got a quote ahead of time when I ordered my tires and theu wouldnt give me a price before they did the work. My final cost was over $100 more than the quote. They claimed it was because taxes were included but I countered that I can estimate taxes and we were still off by $60. Then they said alignment wasnt included in the quote but when I showed them that it was they magically dropped my price by $20. I continued to complain and they dropped the price by another $10. They charged for mounting and balancing my tires and extra for the alignment over my quote and blamed it on the corporate call center. I was still short $30. I also specified that I wanted my 1 good tire back so I could have a spare and they destroyed it taking it off the rim. They didnt tell me this at the shop and when I found it missing when I got home they blamed it on dry rot. They kept blaming the corporate office for the price difference and the poor service. Pros: they could get me in within 48 hours and on a weekend. Even with the price change it was still half the price of the competition. BE VERY CAREFUL! The prices are good because the service isnt.

I stopped in on Friday to find it would be an hour before I could get in. I did not want to wait so I asked if I could get an appointment on Saturday and was told to come in either Saturday or Sunday morning first thing. I drove over on Sunday and arrived at 9:05 to be told It would be an hour and a half before they could get me in - THATS why I wanted an appointment which I was told wasnt necessary. I couldnt waste my Sunday morning so I left. I called this afternoon (Thurs) and was told they were open till 8:30. Again I was told an appointment was not necessary. I called at 6:45 when I got home and was told if i wanted to drive over they MIGHT be able to get me in before closing. I was not going to drive over and sit for an hour only to be told they were out of time. I will not drive any more miles or waste any more time to be disappointed again at Mavis.

My wife and I just bought 8 new tires for her car and mine. The prices were the lowest. I compared prices at TireRack, Monro, Batavia Automotive, Discounttiredirect, Walmart and Bjs. The prices were not only the lowest, but the tires were in stock at the Geneseo store and ready to be installed. The shop is clean, and the workers are knowledgeable. They were very flexible with their scheduling. I plan on returning again in the future.

My experience was great. Called Sunday and ordered tires & alignment for my 88 Nissan. Dropped off the car on way to work Monday. Picked up on my way home. Never even met these people. Yet, great service. Clean, safe place to take your vehicle. BIG PLUS, they treat you like a friend in need, not a customer. Thanks nice people
