USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Completely crooked company, your valuables WILL be "lost"! We contracted them for a cross-country move. Just about everything that could go wrong with movers went wrong. Price came out far higher than originally quoted. But the real problems came with the delivery itself. When the boxes and bins were unloaded, it looked like the truck had been hit by a train. Boxes had been completely collapsed. Bins were sheared through. Needless to say, plenty of stuff inside was broken. Im not only talking about the stuff I had personally packed: a computer had been packed by them, and upon unpacking I discovered that the front of the computer case had been sheared through. The terrible condition of our stuff was only the first problem, the real anguish came when we delved in deeper. Every box and bin had been delivered, but we had one particular bin with all of our portable games and systems (Nintendo DS, prior portable game consoles, and a long stack of games for those systems). This bin had been taped shut by us with black tape. When we inspected that bin, we discovered that the TAPE HAD BEEN CUT, the contents had been rifled through -- the DS and every single game stolen -- and then it had been re-taped in an attempt to make it look like nothing had happened. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. YOUR STUFF WILL GO "MISSING"! Upon calling them, I was given the run-around. "Youll have to talk to a manager". Of course, the manager wasnt in. It took several days of attempts to get reach this manager. Once I reached him, I was told Id have to file a claim with their insurance company. This company would only give the completely insulting rate of 60 cents per pound of lost item, something that is a complete non-starter for anything thats actually valuable like video games. Regardless of the rip-off reimbursement rates, I was then given the run-around once more when trying to even obtain this form. They claimed to send it, then the next day they claimed to send it, and finally three days later they finally sent it. I had my rental insurance company get involved because of their remarkable intransigence and they were extremely rude to them. There actually turned out to be ANOTHER issue on top of these -- we were given an extra box! Some poor soul who was unfortunate enough to use this same company had their box rerouted and delivered to us. That same manager claimed that this was "impossible" and implied that we were lying. Eventually they admitted this mistake and UPS came to take the package away. At least UPS can be trusted to deliver things without breaking or stealing them. In conclusion: DO NOT use these people for ANYTHING! They will rip you off. All of your valuable stuff will go "missing" from the boxes you packed it in. They will give you the run-around. They will give you a completely insulting reimbursement rate. They will make your move utter hell. If you have to move for a job, get your company to recommend a mover and use them. Just STAY AWAY from these people!

Surprisingly underwhelming experienced based on the overly enthusiastic response I received via phone with customer service rep. Like others have noted, I received a quote based on my small move which accounted for a 5x5 CubeSmart storage unit. This was a simple move with less then a studio sized apartment which included no large furniture save for 1 Sony Bravia 40" TV and three tier glass stand. Everything else was predominantly small boxes, clothing and an assortment of plastic bins, books, pictures and personal items. I was quoted $1245 from Queens, NY to El Paso, TX. Needless to say the movers arrived on time at the storage facility and proceeded to load, pack all the items. I was charged an additional several hundred dollars above the initial quote for boxes of various sizes and I assumed the labor. No surprise as the lead mover seemed like a shifty character who mumbled more than Milton in Office Space. After everything was packed, he quoted me a ridiculous amount of $2700 in which I reacted in disgust. As a result, he lowered it to $1621 as he quickly realized such thievery would not be accepted or condoned. Off he went with after charging me the ridiculous 4% for the credit card 50% deposit which cost me an additional $28.84 The worse part was the girl at the office could not provide ANY updates but only excuses when we inquired on updates and the current status of our move. She never responded to emails and even calls. Obviously a stark contrast to when THE company wanted our business and MONEY. We were quoted a rush of 6 days on the move which was impossible since the year end holidays were fast approaching. Suffice it to say, my possessions did not arrive in El Paso as quoted. I get a call the DAY before which was Christmas eve from the driver in Texas that they would be delivering my stuff the next day early between 8am and 10am, CHRISTMAS DAY! Not to mention the balance of 50% had to be paid in CASH. Raise your hand if you know many people on Christmas day with excess amounts of cash readily available on hand - yes, the largest most consumer driven holiday in the whole year. So they show up CHRISTMAS MORNING and $720 CASH later I had to move the items up one flight of stairs since the 56 foot trailer was not allowed or able to enter the gated community. I had to rent a UHAUL Van on Christmas eve and move the stuff outside my gated complex. Only the driver and one other helper was on hand. I would say they helped about 15% - basically unloading my stuff on the side of the main road while I loaded it into the van to be moved up a flight of stairs to my apartment. Hows that for yuletide festivities? So in summation: Initial quote: $1245 & 6 days transit with shifty character included In reality: $1,669 & TWO WEEKS - DELIVERY CHRISTMAS MORNING with Two Russians .....and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Two months after my move I received an email from HT asking for a review and asked to rate them on various social media sites. Never mind the fact they ignored my previous efforts to contact them after an unsatisfied move. Here is my very disappointing experience with High Touch. I worked with Tony and at first felt confident that I had found a good reliable moving company. We spoke on the phone and he gave me a quote for 3 men and a truck for a move within Manhattan. I electronically signed and a paid a deposit. Fast forward 3 weeks, the day before my move, I get an email from Tony with a new HIGHER quote, for 4 men and a truck and a higher hourly rate. I called and asked why I was receiving this quote... this is how the conversation went: Tony - Oh, what are you calling about? Me- this new revised quote, I dont understand why the price is changing, Ive already signed and paid a deposit at this rate. Tony - Oh, well your moving within Manhattan, that always requires 4 men, one man has to sit in the truck so you dont get a parking ticket. Me- No, we did no discuss this, and you knew I was moving within Manhattan, why wasnt I told about the 4 man requirement when I booked this move? (Side bar - no one sat in the truck and I had to pay out of my pocket for the parking) Tony - who sent you this email? Me - its from Tony, so unless there is someone else there named Tony, you did! Tony - Whens your move? Me - TOMORROW!!! Shady business when they raise your rate the day before knowing that you still need them because you wont be able to schedule anyone else. Also, not very reassuring when my customer service rep doesnt know when my move is scheduled for. The physical movers were alright, they did work very quickly, but I had a lot of damages. They did not do any sort of inventory of items, just started moving them. They also asked me to pay and ASKED ME FOR THE TIP BEFORE they unloaded my goods into my new apartment. It was strange. I sent a detailed list of damages to Tony to ask how I can claim these, no response back. My armoir was the worst, two knobs broken, the doors are unhinged, multiple front facing surface scratches and a dent in the side. Also ripped a hole in my brand new bed bug cover (after they charged me for supplies to wrap the bed in order to protect it... you clearly didnt protect it), and my art portfolio was never delivered. Bottom Line: I would not recommend these movers.
