Absolutely frustrated and disgusted with my experience with Planet Fitness in Medford, NY. I spoke with Marlene this morning because I was being overcharged on my credit card. She directed me to an outside billing company. They said they couldnt help me either since cancellations are processed through the actual club and they had no record of the September cancellation. Thats when the ping pong game started. When I went to the club in September to cancel my daughters account, they never cancelled it and have been billing me ever since. I spoke with Christopher Roemer who identified himself as the owner/manager this morning and he said there was nothing that could be done and that I would have to provide proof that it was cancelled. He also said they had no record of her checking in to the club in September. (Why would she check in if she was just going in to cancel??) Fortunately, she retained the receipt so we were able to rectify the issue today. I honestly love their gym, but there needs to be more accountability at the front desk.

I must go at different times as the negative reviewers are going. When Im there, its always clean and I still see the employees vacuuming and cleaning up. Im always spoken to in a wonderful way, (not rude or bored seeming). The tanning beds are strong and I get good color from them. I cant say for the mens bathroom/locker room, but the womens facilities are clean. They have a lot of everything there, cardio machines, weight machines, a little obstacle course, a 12 minute ab section, even a thirty minutes express workout. I love the red light therapy they offer. I definitely noticed a difference with how firm my butt and thighs started feeling from using that. I do the black card, but $20/month is well worth all the extras you get. With the $10/month plan you only get to use the the workout area, not the extra services like tanning, red light therapy, massage chairs, hydra massage beds and 1/2 off drinks. They sell core waters for a dollar (if your black card). I love my gym!

I workout there 7 days a week some times three hours a day. The staff is awesome, every time I come in and leave, someone always says "Good morning" and "Have a nice day". The place is spotless on the gym floor and in the locker room, the tanning beds are always clean as well. Although it can get crowded its big enough so that you dont have to wait. Some planet fitness has more of a verity in weights such as more free weights and more heaver weights. Here it only goes up to 75 lbs on the dumbbells and on the curl bars it only goes up to 60 lbs. There is no other free weights just the smith machine. This is a much needed area for improvement and expansion. Also to step it up a notch they should add a juice and protein shake bar that would be awesome there is plenty of room for it.

Awful front desk and management. Customer service is terrible. As as customer who frequented that gym several times a week for months and months, I cannot believe how I was treated. Not that ever treating a customer with disrespect and flat out rudeness is acceptable, but treating your black card" members that way is unacceptable. They have a few entitled obnoxious kids who work there who have no idea how to how to work in business and management isnt much better. Very unprofessional staff who also shut down the black card section early and start rushing you out a half an hour before closing on the weekends. I suggest LA Fitness. You get what u pay for in this life and at this planet that aint much and a bratty bitchy attitude to boot!

I guess for the cost of the gym you cant expect anything great. But the person who started the gym shouldve of thought of that. People deserve quality and cleanliness no matter how much they pay to use the facilities. The people at the desk are always on their cell phones and dont pay any attention. Meanwhile the tanning beds are horrendous and the garbage in those rooms are always over flowing. Instead of being on the phone they should be cleaning and maintaining the facility. Planning on calling someone about this too cause its extremely frustrating. Not sure if other locations have the same problem

Ive been coming here for a year and a half about 3-4 times per week and love it! Love my results too. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. The place always seems clean to me, except for the fact that many do not clean the machine when theyre done and thats just gross. Ive also noticed that it takes a little too long to fix broken machines, and they could use a few more ab machines in the main area. You cant beat the price either. Im very happy with PF!

The gym is nice as is the equipment, but it is not kept up mechanically. Also, ppl arent supposed to slam the equipment plates down. One guy kept doing it & I asked him to stop because it was very annoying and he wouldnt. So, I asked the guy @ the desk & he did nothing but to say he would listen, instead of telling the man to stop it. Also, there is no custodian to clean up the messes ppl leave behind.

I am extremely unhappy with the upkeep of this gym. I dont expect a gym that I pay $10 a month for to be squeaky clean but I do not expect to see sticky candy residue in the cup holders on the treadmill. At any given time there are 5 or 6 employees standing behind the front desk, so I am sure it is not a matter of short staffing. I am hoping to see an improvement soon or I will be switching gyms.

I have trained here since PF opened. I also trained at the previous gym in this location from the time it opened, paying as much as $42/month. The differences are significant PF has more equipment, it is much cleaner, free water fountains that even have container filling devices. Also, they do not assault your ears by blasting awful music like the previous gym did.

Disliked the lack of variety and weights and I was not a fan of the staff. When we came in to cancel our membership, one of the employees was annoyed and tossed the forms at my boyfriend and I which pretty much seals the deal that I would never recommend this gym to anyone who wants a staff as committed to their customers as their customers are to their gym.

Disgusting facility, no one seems to clean it or keep up with the maintenance on the machines. Front desk staff is lazy, unfriendly, and not helpful. Just a bunch of teenagers being paid to stand around and do nothing. Ive gone every time of day from early morning, mid day, to late at night and I have never had a pleasant experience with the staff.

This used to be my favorite place to workout. I have been a member since they first opened unfortunately it has been filthy lately Equipment is dirty mirrors are almost always broken and it is overly crowded.. I hope things get better soon.. I have been using the new planet fitness in Hauppauge on the way to work..

I just joined no one bothered to take me for a tour I had to find things on my own was a bit disappointed I asked about the special that was being showed on tv the guy didnt know what I was talking about you would think they would have a bit more knowledge Im gonna keep trying but not a good first impression
