My recent Roto-Rooter service call was professional, punctual, courteous, and clean. Roto-Rooter lived up to its reputation. On Thursday, January 2, 2014, I noticed that the water level was not going down in our toilets after being flushed. I knew it was not a toilet issue, but probably a clog in the sewer line. I called Roto-Rooter and was given a service window of four hours. I then received a call back, informing me that a technician would be here in forty-five minutes. The customer service aspect of this experience thoroughly impressed me. I cant tell you how many wasted hours I have spent through the years waiting for appointments! The majority of these companies do not keep the customer informed or when they do, its to let the customer know that they need to be rescheduled. This was especially important since we were expecting a snowstorm later that day that ended up dropping ten inches of snow! Our technician (Joe) arrived, introduced himself and displayed his credentials and then effectuated the repair. Upon completion, Joe troubleshooted the repair several times to make sure that we were satisfied before he departed. Once again, we were up and running (flushing)! This was actually the second time we called on Roto-Rooter. The first time was on October 28, 2012, the day before super storm Sandy hit! Imagine our luck, needing service both times right before a major storm! No need to imagine, though, that Roto-Rooter was ready, willing and able, and our troubles went down the drain!

We recently moved into our house and decided to have our septic system checked. We called Roto-Rooter and they sent a technician/plumber over to inspect it from the Smithtown office. He arrived on time, was very professional and explained how our sanitary system was built and what he would inspect for. It was a good thing I called when I did as the 12 year old system apparently had never been cleaned before by the previous owners; and with the video camera inspection, he showed us how solids had spilled over into our leach pool; and that it was full too (no longer draining water). He presented us with a series of options to solve our problems and left it up to us to decide what we wanted to do. We elected to get both cleaned and fully serviced. While it cost more money, we shouldnt have to worry about future problems provided that we maintain the septic tank every 3-5 years. The technician spent over 3 hours at our place and hauled away about 3,000 gallons. He also did minimal impact to our lawn and made every effort to answer any questions we had. Overall, we were very satisfied with their service. They did exactly as he said they would (no shortcuts were taken) and we have peace of mind knowing that our pipes wont backup for the holiday when we have guests.

Plumber services from Smithtown, NY. We had an under the slab water leak. Dave from Roto-Rooter came over and provided an estimate on the spot and a time frame for completing the whole job. Appointment was scheduled for the following morning. Dave and Marc as well as a trainee came on time the following day. The crew worked all day without a real break and completed the job. Dave and Marc went above and beyond their repair. They installed additional piping for any potential future problems that wasnt related to our current issue. This will reduce the amount of work and damage to the floor/walls if a similar repair is ever needed. In addition, they had to deal with another problem that was found during the day and was not part of the original project. This snag took an extra two hours of work with no complaints from the crew. All the work was completed for the original estimate that was provided the day before. This all took place on a weekend with no additional charges. Also, the estimate was free and they did a nice job explaining what they were doing throughout the day.

The technicians arrived on time. He and his trainee were dressed professionally and both greeted me courteously. They first asked me to identify the problem and I discussed with them what I had done to solve it myself. They then looked around all the plumbing and at my cesspool. They had me run water in different sink and flush different toilets to see if they could quickly diagnose the issue. When no clear solution presented itself they discussed the reasonable rate it would cost to unclog my drain. They informed me that even if it took four hours the rate would not increase. They used various tools to unclog the drain and were careful in the process, informing me of what they were doing each step of the way. It took them about an hour to identify the problem area, unclog it, and clean up. They even helped get my broken vent cap off because I had told them I wasnt able to. They were so nice that they even answered many of my young sons constant questions. When they left the bathroom was neat and clean. I would use Roto-Rooter again and highly recommend them.

I was in need of rapid sewer cleaning and contemplated doing job myself. I had a very pleasant experience with call center when setting up appointment and with Hank #3364, the Plumber, when he arrived to assess issue. Within 5 minutes of arriving, he stated that he definitely knew that problem was "roots" growing into main sewage line spanning 60-70 feet from home to street. Estimate prior to fixing problem was rather pricy but, hey, thats what Roto-Rooter gets their name from (Clearing Roots!). Unfortunately, the blockage was NOT roots, but rather a clogged trap inside house before main line.....Do you think this miscalculation changed price at all? NOPE. Feeling somewhat misled I was forced to pay price that was originally quoted. I also asked Hank to contact his manager to possibly give me a more appropriate price giving these tough economic times. Ironically, HE was supervisor. (I guess that means that he doesnt have manager 10pm at night on a Monday?) Service was GRADE A, Price was C+!!!!!

Was having problems with toilets and drainage in general backing up into my downstairs bath tub (in a high ranch). Local regular plumber said I needed a sewer cleaning service. Called Roto-Rooter, in Smithtown, NY. They arrived within the 2-hour time window given (same day) and quickly assessed my situation. The problem was where my house connected up to the sewer system right near the house. Small roots had gotten into the connection between the house plumbing and the sewer piping. They used large motorized augers to clear the pipe at the clog, and also made sure that the piping was clear completely out to the main sewer line (about 100 feet). They also used a camera snake (included in the price) and I was able to view the entire length of piping while they made sure the pipe was completely clear. I cant even say that the price was too high for the amount of work they did. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service provided.

My kitchen sink clogged on Christmas Day night and backed up through my washing machine drain and flooded my laundry room and pantry. After trying to clear it myself with a manual drain snake, I called another plumber that wanted an extra $300 just to show in maybe 3-4 hours, or come the next day in the afternoon. My next call to Roto Rooter had Josh #348 at my house in an hour for no holiday upcharge. Josh got right to work on a troublesome drain with a poor configuration that made it hard to clear with the power snake. He tried for a while, then decided he had to go through the vent on the roof - in the the cold and dark at 9:30 at night. That cleared the drain right away, and for no extra charge for going on the roof. Josh also left a bottle of drain cleaner to help prevent clogs. Roto Rooter got a hard job done quickly, on a holiday night, for no extra charges.
