I recently stopped in the office to inquire about rental space. My in-laws use this location and its convenient for me. I spoke to a helpful woman who showed me the units located near my in-laws and quoted me $139.00/mon on a 10x20. She also mentioned 11$/mon insurance, first month $1, 25$ registration fee, and 10$ or so for a lock. She indicated if I reserved online they often offer a few $ discount. This all sounded great. 60$ish to move in and 150$ a month with insurance. A few days later I went online to setup my reservation and the price is now $205/mon. I called and spoke with a gentleman at the regional office. He explained that prices change daily due to supply and demand BUT they NEVER increase 60-70 dollars. Only a 5-10 at most. He directed me to the Property Manager and gave me her number. I called the property manager who told me she didnt know who I spoke to in the office but they could not honor that price nor do anything to help me. (Their office is only open for 50 hours a week. They cant possible have more than 2-3 people INCLUDING the manager working.) Comparable units in the area run $140-170. And offer all the same "amenities" PS offers, drive up access, trash dumpster on site, roll up doors.. etc.. $205 is not only not even remotely competitive as far as pricing goes, I explained to the clerk that I was looking to book in the next 2-3 weeks. Never was their a mention of fluctuating pricing. I will not do business with a company that refuses to stand behind a price quote. Even if the employee was wrong, it simply doesnt matter. Good customer service requires eating that money. If I label something incorrectly at my job, we have to sell it at that price and eat the loss. It is unbelievable a property manager cannot adjust a price to satisfy a customer. False advertising. Bait and switch sales tactics. Terrible customer service. Piss poor business practices.

I have had a unit at Apex Storage, now called PUBLIC STORAGE since 2009. Initially we found the storage place to be in working order, well maintained with a dumpster. Public storage took over awhile back and since then we have no dumpster, and over the past 6 months a non-working gate! And our monthly rental rates have increased at least 30% since Public Storage took over. We are in unit 1324, in the storage area down the street from the office. Dee, the property manager, does a great job keeping on top of the property and will attend to customers needs quickly and efficiently. Our biggest issue to date is that the security gate leading to our unit has been in a non-working condition for the past 6 months! We have not been given any notice of this open gate 24x 7 problem - I have written a note before about this issue and the then manager did not attend to the issue then - I also have discovered that the larger units are now being offered at a lower price - I am requesting that there be some compensation for no security in the far location as well as replacement of an aging gate that obviously cannot be repaired. I find it hard to recommend Public Storage to anyone - after this unresolved broken gate issue.

My experience was positively the best. I rarely if ever write reviews for services. I expect a certain amount of courtesy and help for just doing business. However on this occasion the manager went way beyond her traditional duties to make sure I understood my storage information and was completely satisfied with the storage arrangements. It was the end of the month, short notice, I was new to the area, and extremely frustrated in trying to find a place close to where I live. The manager seemed to understand my anxiousness and quickly put my mind to rest. She did everything within her powers to find me the best storage price. Her manner was exceptional and very calming. The location was extremely clean, well organized, secure and provided materials that would help preserve my belongings. Originally, I had set up an arrangement with another provider that was cheaper but after visiting the location and talking with the staff I knew immediately where I was going to store my belongings. I cant say enough about this location and its manager. Thank you Public storage for having the good sense to hire this very competent manager. Thank you Dee. Len Hayes

I recently moved to North Carolina, and I needed a place to store my belongings while I lived in temporary housing until I could find a house. I specifically searched for a Public Storage facility since I had such a good experience with Public Storage in Longmont., Colorado, the city I moved from. So far, the facility in Apex has exceeded my already high expectations. Dee, the property manager, has been very helpful, friendly, and great to work with. She helped me to get the perfect storage room, just in time before the summer rush. She has been flexible and accommodating, taking a lot of the stress out of the storage aspects of a cross-country move! The property itself is in a very good location, and is very well maintained. Based upon my current experience with Dee, and with my previous, recent experience with the Public Storage facility in Longmont, I will very likely seek out Public Storage next time I need temporary storage, no matter where it happens to be. For anyone needing storage in the Raleigh/Apex/Cary area, talk to Dee and look no further. This is a safe, convenient, and well-run facility.

Since public took over the storage facility I had nothing but costly problems with the parking space I had for a long time. Very often when I went to pick up my work trailer somebody blocked me in. When I would return with my work trailer somebody would be in my paid spot. Upon returning my trailer today ( after a long hard day) I was blocked in from parking my trailer. Now my spot is on the end so I can get a big trailer in and out. After the girl in the office was ignorant and no help at all I pulled all my stuff out of there. My employees depend on that trailer for work. So when I cant get it out for a day in a half I have to pay them for nothing. These people dont care and run the place like crap. No concern for a customer who always paid on time and had been there for years. Public Storage You Suck !!!!!

I have known about this facility and have used numerous times in the past. I went in to inquire on storage, with them now being owned and operated by Public Storage. I am sorry to say the level of service was one of worst I have been faced with. The "manager" was rude, had zero care for the new customer and simply didnt care about me or finding my needs. She showed me a DIRTY unit. What in the world!!!! She was too lazy to walk to the available unit. The property was dirty with debris all over. The door she tried to roll up wouldnt. The latch was barely operable. It was crazy to watch. Knowing how this property was managed and seeing how it is now, I will defiantly never rent here again. Sad and disgraceful with this manager. I am sorry Dee but horrible is all I can say!!!!
