Please, unless you are storing generic things, DO NOT store household items here! I rented an inside hallway unit (of which I was promised was more closely to climate control units) my things were stored in plastic totes and boxes. Moisture ruined almost EVERYTHING! Even my Calphalon cookware! INSIDE the totes and boxes! There was excessive mold growing on EVERY piece of furniture stored and up the side of the cardboard boxes! While not ON the plastic totes, items INSIDE the totes were completely affected! All furnishings had to be discarded! Leather briefcases, clothing, cookware, books, etc...had to be discarded! I reported this to Tiffany and noticed that when I moved out she placed a moisture repellent sachet inside of the EMPTY unit, which she already had in her hand! She replied, "this side of the property does not get a lot of sun and tends to hold moisture because of the location of the brick wall." I distinctly recall asking before I rented the unit if moisture was an issue within their units on that side of the property and was told "NO, NOT AT ALL!" I asked because the door faces a wooded area and the elevation is below the rest of the property ....I was told that the reason I was shown an inside hallway unit...(and paid more for it), was to prevent the "issues of possible loss associated with drive up outdoor units"...clearly, I was deceived! Moreover, why was a moisture repellent sachet NOT placed inside when I rented it!? OR EVEN SUGGESTED??? It certainly appears that someone before me has reported this to them. I am just GRATEFUL that our bedroom furnishings were stored at CARDINAL SELF STORAGE in a climate control unit! NO issues at all at Cardinal! I am giving Public Storage ONE star, ONLY because I cant give a lower rating....and the staff has pleasant enough attitudes. Let me add, Ive used an outdoor storage facility before and have NEVER had this issue! This was my FIRST time using Public Storage and I wish I had NEVER found them.

IF YOU DONT READ ANY OTHER REVIEWS...PLEASE READ THIS ONE!!! Go get a storage elsewhere. There are hidden fees. $1 for first month is bogus. They will slap you with renters insurance that you MUST buy from them. ($11 a month is more than I pay monthly for my renters insurance for $100,000 policy on my apartment) They will make you buy their lock ($20). My first month I paid over $60 to move into a $30 ($41 with renters insurance) a month unit. They are also very rude and do not follow NC Lien Law. You have to pay online or at a Public Storage. Seems convenient right? Wrong. They will tack on the next month and you cant change it to pay only one month. Its that amount or no amount. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE. If I could have given less than one star I would have. There are lots of honest storage places around town. Places that will work with you if you lose your job or unexpected things happen. Ample Storage on Industrial Dr is one. Great customer service and good communication. They will email you if they cant get ahold of you via phone. Oh yeah, and they ask you to go on google and give them a great review. Tacky.

Do not store your belongings in this place-they will rob you. The woman who helped me said one thing, while the fine print in the lease said another. Although I paid for an entire months rent in September, I alerted them more than a week in advance that I would be moving out Sept. 7. She said that she would not pro-rate that month and that I would be stuck paying the entire months rent. However, she greedily accepted to prorate Julys rent to make sure her units were full when I moved in July 25. When I asked her if she was going to rent the unit out to someone in Sept. when I moved out-she strategically said "Youre welcome to keep your lock on the unit for the month of September." Im sure she was more than eager to get double rent on the unit. Believe me, I will be disputing this charge on my credit card. Plus they make you pay 9 dollars a month insurance even if you already pay homeowners insurance. These people do not care about you and just want to squeeze any money they can. They are insensitive, greedy, and soulless. They charge exorbitant prices and do not work with you at all. Look elsewhere if you can.

I recently made a move from Philadelphia to the area and needed to store some of my possessions over the summer months. After arriving from a long day of traveling, Cee Cee was my storage guardian angel. Not only did she and her teammate Mahogany wait for us to arrive in the early evening -- even making attempts beforehand to notify us that they would be closing soon but would be open to rescheduling our appointment -- Cee Cee gave me a thorough walkthrough of the property and the unit with expert advice about how to store my stuff. She was able to identify, immediately, my needs for storing my stuff properly with the Carolina humidity approaching and had me prepared and confident that my belongings wouldnt be ruined when I returned (be sure to understand what climate controlled actually means). She was friendly, kind, and extremely supportive -- truly someone who loves and understands how they can be helpful in their job. I couldnt have expected a better person to work with and really appreciate my experience at this location.

I just recently moved in a large unit. I went to the ambridge street location first but they were unable to accommodate the tractor trailer on that particular property. so i was then directed to go to the kangaroo drive location. the tractor trailer came all the way from Los Angeles CA and once we actually came in to secure the unit the movers were not going to safely be able to get the truck in and out the entrance gate. The young lady Sherita in the office was absolutely accommodating. she made a call to ask if the emergency gate could be opened and immediately came out to open it. We later needed a second unit and she was with out a doubt fast and efficient in finding another unit as close as possible. I really appreciated her personalized service and she treated me like famoily. So what started as a hectic day ended up working out for the best. Thanks so much Sherita. Public storage is lucky to have her.

Came by this location today and was able to rent a unit for $22 with their labor day promo. This was amazing to me. Cee Cee and Tiffany were extremely helpful in making sure that I got an awesome unit for a great price also. They were able to assume and make sure that my belongings would be secure for my stay. I will definitely be back and people if you havent tamen advantage of their Labor Day sale..please do so before it ends. Awesome rental prices and currently the cheapest around!! Thanks a lot Cee Cee and Tiffany.
