Unless you want to be scammed avoid this place and their partner store; (Firestone on Tunnel Rd) and go to a non-chain type shop for anything service releated. Classic bait and switch scam. They advertise a promotion for a service at a good price. You take the vehicle in for the service and they call you hours later; when it was suppose to be ready for pick up in our case; only to inform you that you need x part and work at an inflated rate. When you tell them no just do the service I requested they refuse and try to force you into the other purchase. They first try safety and scare tatics to sell it and if you still refuse they have fine print policy that allows them to refuse to perform the first service unless you agree to the additional work. Do they tell you about this policy upfront when you scheudle or drop off the car? Absolutley not! Do they try and do the "saftey inspection" quickly so they can let you know early of additional work they are going to require? Absolutley not! Trust me that speical $100 brake job is going to cost you at least $300 by the time they replace those perfectly good rotors you already have and they know this upfront. We picked the car up without the service performed and a day wasted.

Sadly I have to rate the Firestone on Patten Ave a 1. At first, I enjoyed my experience the staff were straight forward with the issues my car had and even helped with my warranty. After getting my brakes changed last year they started making an awful noise worse than before, after getting asking to check twice they were finally changed thanks to my warranty. However, right after leaving their shop one of my brakes went out completely. Luckily there was no accident. Come to find out my brakes were not put on properly and all my break fluid had leaked out. They paid for my towing and redid my brakes. That reason alone I will not be back. By the way, every time I took my car in it was there for multiple hours, and yes I made appointments, things should not be missed or incomplete. Finally, they failed to notice my headlight was out during my car inspection and I explained to them twice that I had a headlight already in the car for them to install. Im completely shocked. I understand they are very busy and get a lot of people at their location but, I sure hope others have not been hurt from their lack of basic attention to the cars getting worked on in their auto shop. Unacceptable.

I felt very odd about leaving my car to be worked on after talking to the sales guy at the front counter. He tried to get me to okay two repairs that did not need to be done on my vehicle and I had to tell him NO three times. I dont know if it was because I am a female or what, that he assumed that I did not know that. I know one thing he did not assume for sure. I am an ASE certified technician, but do not have much experience with the repair that I am having them do. Otherwise, I work on my own vehicle. I did not appreciate someone trying to convince me of something that I already knew was bs. If I can avoid it, unless it is tires or an alignment, I wont have these guys going under my hood again, regardless of whether they do the repair right or not. Theres always that one chance were they break something and try to say it needs fixing. Places like these need to stop putting so much pressure on their salespeople.

Firestone overcharges for their parts and services, and I will not be back. In 2010 or 2011, I went in for a basic tire rotation, and found out later how badly I was overcharged. In 2017, my car broke down on the way to work and I managed to make it to Firestone, where they charged me $140 for an ignition coil that should have been $80, and $30 for four spark plugs when they told me they were only doing one (and these should be $5 each). Although the tech took off the price of three spark plugs, and some of the labor cost, I am still upset at the massive markup that Firestone has on their parts. I wish I could have gone to my regular mechanic at Xpertech on Tunnel Road instead. They are honest people and always give me fair market prices for the parts and work I need.

Dont recommend this place to anyone. On both my vehicles when I have took them in for an oil change, I come out with a long list of things wrong with it. I took to my regular mechanic and some of the things on the list didnt even exist. The first time it happened the quote was for $1800. It only cost $400 at my regular place because they didnt charge for parts that didnt exist. The second time it was $1000 and I got it fixed for less than $200. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but now I wont be back.

Im hoping the management has changed since the other reviews Ive read as my experience so far has been quite good. Ive had an alignment and new tires put on. I also went in for an inspection and was told I may not actually need one to register my car since I just moved to NC. I postponed my inspection, did some research, and discovered it was true and saved myself some cash. Prices can be a bit high, but the lifetime wheel alignment(at any firestone) for about twice the cost of a single alignment is pretty nice.

Not sure where that person buys spark plugs for $5, but Id sure like to know because I havent bought a spark plug I can remember that was less than $8, and generally they push $10 a pop at any major auto parts house regardless of make or model. The fact that Firestone ate the cost of three of the plugs would have made me a little more gracious about rating their service. Maybe the fact shes replacing spark plugs one at a time and paying $5 for them is why shes breaking down in the first place.

Ive had these guys do work for me a number of times. They always come up with numbers of things they want to do that dont need to be done upon getting a second opinion. Absolute scam artists. If you want to be a naive ignorance fool and replace everything on your car whether it needs it or not, please go to them and give them your business. If you want to use your brain and go to someone you trust, go right next door to Jan Davis. Awesome folks that do a great honest job!
