Ive been seeing Erin at One Forty every month since I moved to Durham almost two years ago. Prior to Durham, I was spending a fortune at an NYC salon and yet my hair was in bad shape. Since seeing Erin, my hair has become healthier and longer than I ever thought possible. She has colored my hair everything from dark brown to balayage, is always up for trying new things, and never ever disappoints. She is a great listener and will get your color exactly the shade youre looking for even if it means spending some extra time to get it just right. Coloring aside, she is also probably the only stylist Ive ever had who doesnt cut off too much hair when you ask for a trim. She knows just how much to take off to see and feel a difference in the health of your hair and her blow outs are flawless every single time. I always look forward to my visits with her not just knowing how awesome my hair will look when I leave but getting to catch up with her as well. She is an absolute sweetheart and I wouldnt trust anyone else with my hair. If youre looking for a new salon and stylist, I cannot recommend Erin and One Forty enough!

When the receptionist asked if I was satisfied with my service, I had to say yes, because I wasnt going to let the stylist try to correct her awful work, and I didnt have time. Better not to go shorter... I will just have to grow this out and have someone else fix it. I have very fine, straight hair that shows "cut marks" easily, but competent, professionally trained stylists should be able to handle it. Not here. I left with a horribly choppy, uneven cut, with weird, obvious scissor marks and random long strands she simply missed. I had asked for something extremely simple: a short trim and a few more layers. But I honestly could have done a better job myself. Im so bummed. This was after waiting fifteen minutes to be seen on a slow day. Two stars only for the nice ambiance and friendly receptionist. I wont be going back.

My Experience was a Forever Memory. I was completely astonished of how well I was treated. Most businesses act as if there clients should only been seen as a number. But for me I was treated as a real person with respect and kindness which in my opinion has forever earned my business as a professional salon. Kristin Bridge was absoultely amazing! She listened to my horror stories of past stylists and put calm to my fear of having it happen again. I watched her as she whimsically tufted my hair back and forth as if it was second nature; All the while holding a deep conversation about things relevant to me and my life along with hers. I know she will be the stylist I forever goto and i recommend her highly! Thank you again for your time and my experience of receiving a professional hair color makeover from a talented stylist.

The owner is my sister and she does not charge her family for haircuts, styles and highlights. All the stylist Ive ever been to there has always had my approval in mind. They have always went out of their way to make sure I leave happy with my hair, Mary has the best stylist at 140 in all of North Carolina in my opinion, thank all of you that has cut. Styled, and/or highlighted my hair and that has had anything to do with my hair!!! I will not go anywhere else. Not even to my other sisters salon, only because at 140 they have always been so nice and respectful, other place not so much! And I agree Heather and Ashleigh is awesome!!!

The actual salon is nice, beautiful atmosphere and good location. The customer service however, not so much. My stylist was Erin she was not friendly or talkative and seemed to have an attitude the entire time. She almost seemed out of it. The price was outrageous for how horrible my hair turned out, I will never go back again. if you go here, you may enjoy your experience as long as you see another stylist.

Heather is seriously THE BOMB!!! Such a positive, upbeat person who gave me the best haircut Ive had since moving here from upstate 12 years ago!! Im NEVER happy with a haircut and she gave me my dream hair. I woke up this morning and styled it again and it came out as beautiful as when she did it yesterday. Thank you Heather!! Theyre so lucky to have you on board as a stylist!!

Love this place! They have a great vibe, and make sure that youre always comfortable, whether its with a complimentary glass of water, coffee, or wine. I just saw Ashley for my first time and Id recommend her hands down! She did a cut and highlights and Ive never been so pleased with how highlights have turned out. Highly recommend!

Had a blowout here with Skylar before a rehearsal dinner/wedding. It was a great experience, very relaxing and I left feeling like a million bucks. My hair held its style all night and I got tons of compliments. I look forward to going back sometime soon - and I recommend Skylar if youre looking for a great stylist!
