I was visiting family in Waynesville and had driven through a lot of snow, sand and salt. When I was ready to leave on Sunday, my van was difficult to turn and made clunking noises. I had another 400 + miles to go, so I decided to have it checked out. My brother recommended Main Street Auto and he called them first thing on Monday morning. They said to bring the car right to them and so we did. I left it there with them and they checked everything on the steering and belts and fluids and found there was actually no problem with the car, but instead it may have been for other reasons, such as hitting a bad spot, or perhaps the crud under the car. Im not sure what caused it, but it had stopped. They called me to get it by 10:30am and explained what they had looked at to see if they could figure it out. They also drove the car and the issues were no longer there. They not only were honest about not finding anything, but they also did not charge me one cent for checking it out. I was so amazed at their honesty and generosity and very grateful to them. I do not live in Waynesville, but I would recommend them wholeheartedly and I would use them if I did.

Called on Good Friday at 8am, and squeezed me for a 9 oclock appointment... and I saw his appointment book and it was plumb full!! I broke a center exhaust mount and he brought me into the garage to show me why it broke and how to properly fix it. Where the exhaust hangs in the rear from a rubber hanger, my extremely hard cornering is causing excessive force, which broke my center mount. He welded the center mount and fixed it. Then he took a couple washers, cut them in half, and tack welded them to the hanger in the rear, sandwiching the rubber mount to prevent the exhaust from swaying and breaking the center mount again...simple, effective, and ingenious solution other shops might miss! His attention to detail and excellent work will definitely bring me back!! Oh, and a price so low it shocked me... SO HAPPY!! Thanks guys!!!

By far the best automotive place in Waynesville! Our truck had a big lug bolt stuck in the rear tire Friday night, which meant we would probably be without the truck for 2 days as no automotive place is open here on the weekend. The one tire shop open on Saturday was booked and could not make room for us. Luckily we stopped at Main St. Automotive when we saw a man working on a car in the lot. They arent even open on the weekend but Vance was kind enough to patch our tire in less than 15 minutes on his day off. Really nice people! They definitely have our business from here on out.

1st of all we are from Raleigh NC, came to the mountains for Polar Express and stopped in Waynesville to shop. On the way up here we heard a roaring coming from my husbands truck, we were worried it was the bearings. We called Main Street Auto, they said to bring it on down and they would take it for a ride to see what it was and they also said they would not charge us anything to check it out. It was the tires making the noise, they rotated the tires for us and charged very little. Very nice people and they are not out to rip.people off. Best people around. Thanks guys!!

I can not attest to Main Street Automotives work, but I will about their character. I ran out of gasoline a bit up the road. When I walked in and asked if they could help me out, the quickly responded and added a couple of gallons to my tank. They asked for nothing in return. Little did they know, they had just helped out a ten year veteran on Veterans Day. They took time out of their busy day to unselfishly help a stranded stranger, and I am very grateful. I will definitely be patronizing this establishment in the future.

Great guy and always did a great job. But I wanted him to fix our windshield wipers and the only thing he did was put a rubber gasket on the side and charged us 480 bucks. The problem was never fixed. After a year it still bothers me and Im going to the local newspaper. NC law requires for business to inform you before charging over 300 dollars and this man did not. The state of North Carolina replied and said they will investigate this matter.

My car broke down right in front of his shop at the stop light. We pushed it into his shop parking lot and went in to see if he could fit my car in last minute... This was at 5pm. Had my car up and running the next day before noon!!! Wonderful service and very great at explaining what is going on with your car.
