I recently had to have my tires balanced and went to a local shop (to remain unnamed) to have the work done. Since I would be pulling a small teardrop trailer with my 2012 Honda CRV EX-L, I wanted to make sure that I didnt have any vibrations that I was unsure of. I usually stand by the person doing the balancing, and I noticed that he hit the button to only show the inside portion of the balancing computer (where the hammer on wheel weights go on the rim) and the machine didnt reflect the outer portion where one would place stick on weights. I paid and left, however, when we were on our trip hitting highway speeds about an hour and a half from the house, my steering wheel started vibrating and bouncing at 60+ MPH, and it was difficult to keep up with the other cars on the highway. I got home after our vacation, and disconnected the trailer, and drove for a couple weeks, and still had the vibration. I called Clark Tire, since they were the only ones relatively local to me (without taking a day to drive to Asheville) and assured me that they would be able to do the stick on weights the alloy wheels require for accurate balancing, and set up an appointment with them. Arrived at Clark Tire, and signed in with a very pleasant person at the desk, and they got to my vehicle, and I stopped by in the back while the mechanic was removing the tires and balancing them. He told me that all 4 were out of balance, and that hed correct that. I watched the balancing machine and he was very attentive to the figures displaying on the machine. The car was completed, and I went to pay, and was very surprised and amazed at the cost!!! I asked it that price was correct, and the same guy that had checked me in said that it was, and for me to please have a nice day, and if any problems, please come back to see them and theyd make it right, IF I had any problems. Driving home was a dream - NO vibrations! It even steered better, not wanting to wander. Not having done business with Clark Tire previously (funny that when I was signing in, they asked if I was such and such, and I said no, that was my brother) I just wanted to let other people know that I am very pleased and satisfied with the work they did, and would most highly recommend them at least for work of this nature. I realize that businesses change hands/owners over time, but the staff at Clark Tire that serviced my vehicle made me feel important, and did an outstanding job!

I dont often write reviews, but after how I was treated by the Mountain View Tire & Services Center in Waynesville, I figured its the least I can do. I moved to the North Carolina area less than a couple of years ago. Many of the people with whom I work have been living in the Canton/Waynesville area all of their lives. I work at the paper mill in Canton. Like anyone else, I needed some routine work done on my car. So, I started asking around for opinions on where to take my car. Although there are many tire service centers around the area, not all of them have the equipment I needed (to reset tire pressure monitoring sensors). Mountain View happened to be one of a couple places in the area. Every person I asked had only negative things to say about this place; surprisingly, each had the same complaint. They said Mountain View diagnoses your car and tells you that you need more services than necessary. Then, when you get additional opinions, they find that almost none of what Mountain View said was needed. One person said Mountain View quoted them $2000 for several things. When they took it elsewhere, all that was recommended was a change of brake pads. My issue was that a few months ago, I paid for a service. I paid for that same service the other day, & they gave me a higher price (though no price adj. had occurred). I respectfully stated that the price didnt sound right, so I brought in my prior invoice from the car. They adjusted the price down. I thanked them (there were 4 or so of them sitting there) for their work & paid the individual. He simply turned his back to me and walked away. None of the others spoke up either. Plus, they claimed they couldnt reset the tire pressure monitor sensors (which they had done just two months prior). That was the primary reason I brought it to them. For what they did, I could have taken it right down the road in Canton for half the price. I will not be returning & will be canceling my oil/filter change appt.

I dont often write reviews, but after how I was treated by the Mountain View Tire & Services Center in Waynesville, I figured its the least I can do. My car broke down in Cruso NC and I had it towed to Thomas on route 110. He diagnosed my problem to be my fuel pump $387.00 repair. But since I had a fuel pump put in Dec2010 at good year in Chattanooga, TN it was still under the warranty, Good year said I had to take it to Mountain View for them to pay the repair. When Mountain View got my car I needed a new fuel pump and a fuel pump module assembly which was not covered by the warranty they charged good year 479.00 on one invoice for the fuel pump under my husbands name and made a separate invoice for $405.00 in my name. When asked to put it on the same invoice I was told they could not. So i reluctantly paid the balance so I could be on my way Back home to Georgia!. After I went to lunch I went to the Gas station to fill up. Then I discovered that they did not correctly install my fuel tank after the fuel pump job because the GAS CAP was stuck under the fender (not aligned with the gas door) This is the worst Repair shop I have ever dealt with. They really take advantage of travelers that are passing though Waynesville!

This place is horrible! I have been a customer on more than one occasion (sadly), and it is quite comical how this business runs. The staff that works the front desk is the rudest people you will ever encounter in your life, when you walk in they act like they would rather you turn around and never come back. I thought the customers is what kept the place in business! If you ask around, almost no body has anything nice to say. Its always the same, " Way over priced" and "Rudest people to do business with". And after a few trys I am now one of those people that agrees with those statements. The work they seem to do appears to be ok. But if you shop around you can pay WAY less at another shop for the same outcome, and without dealing with the men at the desk. My advice to anyone looking for a place to get work done. Stay clear from this business as they will lie to your face and cheat you out of your money! There much better places to go that will actually be happy to see you walk in the door and be a customer.
