I find 2 things odd about the reviews for Midco found here. First, that there are so few of them... at the time of writing this in June of 2016, there are 13 reviews? The oldest is from 2 years ago, the next oldest is 8 months. This isnt a new company, but maybe Im overthinking that. The second odd thing is how terrible a majority of these reviews are! Im an IT professional at a company with about 400 employees with Midco as our primary ISP, and I have also been a Midco customer at multiple personal residences over the past decade and have had nothing but good experiences. I live in central Grand Forks, and almost always get the speeds I pay for. Prices and speeds are better than competitive across the country, and of the experiences Ive had with other ISPs customer service, Midcos is head and shoulders above others. Granted, I do a lot of my own networking and, consequently, troubleshooting. But anytime Ive called support with an issue, my problems are taken seriously, not assumed that its user error (which is often more than I can say for even my own professional support practices). I rarely have to wait on hold for more than 5 minutes (this is also better than any major and most smaller ISPs) after which they apologize for the wait and then Im treated courteously until my problem is resolved. I should also mention that its not hard to get a real person whos competent and easy to understand on the line when I call into either sales or support at most times of the day. I dont have cable TV or a landline phone, so I cant speak to Midcos performance in these areas, but in the realm of internet, I can say that I dread the day that I move away from this area and have to endure past experiences or worse with other providers. 10/10 would recommend and will happily continue to work with as long as I can. Sorry for the long post. Hope its helpful. TL;DR performance, price and customer service all better than average in my opinion.

A previous reviewer named Daniel said that the prices are better than competitive across the country. Have you ever been to Texas or California and seen their internet deals? I just arrived from northern California. For $50 a month Xfinity will give you 50 mbps download speed, then upgrade you to over 100 mbps for free. I always clocked my speeds at about 116 mbps. So I was paying $50 a month, but receiving speeds of 116 mbps. And I lived in northern California, about 40 minutes north of Sacramento. Now my installer named Chris was an awesome guy! But I am taking a star away for having to explain to a supervisor there and employee that I live in a townhouse with an actual address. They kept asking for the unit associated with my address. I was asked how will the installer find your townhouse without knowing the unit? I said WTH, my address number is listed next to the garage door. This concept was not being internalized and the light bulb never went off over their heads. I had to have a property manager call over and explain the same thing I had previously told them. They still listed my place as a unit on my bill. I received a call on my way from California to North Dakota from someone at MidCo saying someone was living in my unit. The property manager called them again and told them my townhouse has never been listed by unit. However, the townhomes adjacent to my complex are by unit. Dont confuse the two! MidCo waived my installation fee due to the customer always being right.

The only thing I like about midcontinent is that occasionally I have internet. And even when I do have it, its terrible. I only have the really basic internet package, but I upgraded from the cheapest one and saw NO difference. Why would I pay even more and continue to get terrible service? Ive only stayed with them from lack of options. As I type this on my phone, Pandora has been thinking about playing music. But the internet is so bad that it cant play while my wife watches Netflix in the next room. Ive done the speed tests, and they say Im getting what Im supposed to. But my dad in Florida has a comparable package with his provider, and his internet is really fast. Im very disappointed.

Midco isnt the absolute best provider out there, but they pretty much own this region. However though my service was top notch today. I had just purchased a new router and modem, I "rented" a $5.00 month one for 3 years. After being on hold for 40 minutes then being disconnected, started a new call and waited 30 minutes my call was answered I started setting up the new modem after giving both customer S/N, and Mac Id the call was dropped. The service tech that was working with me continued the install without me on the line, which was great. That made me give Midco 5 stars for that. The Grand Forks store was great too fast service, when taking back my old "rented" device.

Our WiFi worked great up until 3 weeks ago, when it slowed down dramatically. After talking to Midco, who sent a tech out to test the WiFi, they told us it was "working at the speed we paid for." Our WiFi speed got better for a day, and then slowed down again. We called again, and were told again we were getting what we paid for. Apparently no one can explain to us why our speed is now horrible compared to the previous 3 years weve used Midco WiFi, and we are getting irritated. Is this a Midco plot to charge more money for "upgraded" service? It makes you wonder.

We use to have midco in mayville a couple years ago and the technician was nice and set things up with no problems so i decided to try them out again since we had no problems before and when we would call in we spoke to friendly people who did their best to fix the issue. Very friendly technician he got my internet set up with no issues. Also the guy I talked to on the phone to set things up was very polite and cool so i will stay with this internet provider. I got the 1 gig thing and i had no idea how fast something could be downloaded. Thanks midco =) - John

I cant get them to send me a bill and keep getting charged late fees!! I get a paper bill in the mail only occasionally and never get an email bill. Ive updated my profile on their website several times to get them to send me a paper bill. Ive called the customer service people and they say the have taken care of it but still only get a notice when it late.. If grand forks had another option I would switch. They keep raising the price for my internet and I keep getting a less reliable internet connection.

This place has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced! When they came to install our Internet, they put a hole in the wall and claimed it was already there meanwhile the place was literally brand new. Now our Internet is out and the best they can do for me is have a tech out here in two days. Its a good thing I dont work from home ... wait YES I DO! If there was any possible way to have another Internet service provider, I would have one in a heartbeat!
