Long story short: Horrible Internet service, low quality television service, rude answering service, overcharges for next to no service. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF POSSIBLE! Before I even begin with this review I would like to state that I was a broadband technician for a major cable company for a year and a half and know a good bit about the industry. I have never felt as ignored and unappreciated by a company before as I have the entire time Ive been with this company. I am stuck with them since they are the only one in the area and I need cable Internet for gaming and work. Since Ive been with them (a little over 3 months now) I have had nothing but issues with the service. My first issue was the fact that I HAD to have their basic cable package to even get the internet which, regardless of what they tell you, IS NOT actually needed in order to get working internet. My second issue is that the service itself hasnt worked for longer than a few days at a time since Ive been with them. Ive tried calling a few times to setup a trouble call and they dont show up claiming that its an outage that theyre aware of, which still hasnt been fixed mind you. I have with my own eyes seen them lie to customers in the office. They have been telling us on this most recent outage that it will be fixed no later than tomorrow for the past three weeks worth of tomorrows. The answering service that they use after business hours have extremely rude employees and are horribly unhelpful seeming like they just want to rush you off of the phone. When they answer they almost sound like you are being rude by interrupting their time to do their job. Every broadband technician that Ive spoke to working for their company has been extremely kind and intelligent and the one manager that Ive spoke to in the office was very kind as well. If I were able to pay to be able to rate this company negative stars then I would do it.
Someone whose educated as far as IT goes I unforunately Used the service for a number of years there connection was unreliable, very very outdated technology and over priced, do your self a favor, at least get satellite TV. You may be stuck with them for internet service pending where you live. I now live in the middle of no where out in ben wheeler and am able to get a 8mb connection (all the way to 16mb ) from ignyte wireless (ETX offers only 2.5mb) that is much more reliable no data caps and completely WIRELESS. Similarly, my friend in the boonies of martins mills is able to get 6mb DSL for the same price as ETX cables 2.5mb plan. They obviously have no interest in investing in there company or future and my only guess is there patiently awaiting to be bought out as they are decades behind in technology. Its a pathetic monopoly cash cow. STAY AWAY
So far service has been absolutely horrible!! I have never in my life experienced a company like this. They are quick to dismiss you and will even argue with you about whats wrong and they dont have a clue. It is sad that this is the only company out here. I expect the internet to go out at least once a day but usually its more. They are not experienced in the service obviously. We went almost 2 weeks without internet service but you better believe we paid for services that we did not get. Also with the cable box acting like its possessed and they come out and say its at the pole, we will send someone out then a week later when i call they say we are busy. UGH!!! Now cable box not staying on and I am sure we will be paying our over priced bill for services NOT rendered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent information on the telephone and the answering service after business hours always answers and I get a call back. The installer technicians are personable, polite, and professional. They listen when discussing what and where the installation goes and explain operation and capabilities the service so I can understand it. The high speed internet is great. The streaming works even when the grandkids are over and we all want to watch something different on Netflix. We have had very few interruptions even during storms except when the tornado hit Van or Lindale. Even then service was restored the same day. I recommend the internet and the cable especially if you enjoy watching netflix, amazon, or WiFi game streaming.
Worst company ever. Internet does not work and when you call they are beyond rude and have no idea what customer service is. Apparently they teach there employess to lie and always say they are updating there system. I guess they have been updating for 3yrs. They love taking your money though whether you get what you pay for or not. I called and asked if they could fix 1 channel and they told me it could be months to get it fixed. With no further explanation. They have no idea how to run a business much less how to treat people.
worst experience ever !!! they are the only provider that I know of here in canton, tx. They do not have any after hours support for the cable service other than an answering service that can only take a message. When you call during their regular business hours, they still have no clue how to fix any issues. I am paying 30 dollars more than I was at time warner at literally one tenth the internet speed and they do not have on demand either. This sucks bad!!
This company does not know how to handle cable or internet, your lucky if your internet even works for five minutes, call about it and they tell you there is nothing they can do. On the cable side, it seems every other day the cable goes out, sometimes it will be off all night, all they tell you when you call them is we are trying to get ahold of a tech, in my opinion, I think Time Warner Cable should set up out here and put this company out of business.
By far the worst company and thats not just for Internet providers. Lied to on my bill, screwed out of money. I swear there is a scam going on here somewhere for this to be the ONLY Internet provider in Canton TX?? Even with "1st Monday"?? Hard for me to believe that suddenlink, CenturyLink, or At&t wouldnt want to provide service. Only thing I can think of, is theyre not allowed to.
Worst service i have ever had going on 3 weeks with less than 56k internet.... even just dropping completely constantly, my tv looks like i am using a freaking clothes hanger and the receptionist has said she is gonna put in a ticket for me probably 6 times ....... still yet to even see someone near my house
Itd be nice if they would lower theyre prices considering they sell megabits instead of megabytes. Theyre way overpriced and do not specify what theyre selling. Stating they have megs is very misleading. But they do work with you, and if your not an ass they are nice people. Jst a cheap company.
This is the best internet Ive had. I had a problem with it not working like once or twice for maybe five minutes and then it was working again. The variety of channels for the cable arent that great, but they always work. The only negative thing I could say is they never answer the phone.
