WORST SALON EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! When I heard about this salon I was very excited to find a salon here in Cleveland that specializes in natural hair; so they claim. When I got to the salon a stylist by the name of Yolanda came over to me and told me that she didnt have me scheduled until 4:30pm and on my appointment card it said I was scheduled at 3. On top of the time mix up, Yolanda was not the stylist that I met when I made my appointment, so I was a bit confused. Yolanda took me to the back, but did make me aware she had another client scheduled, but she would get me started. The service I was seeking on that day was a trim, silk press, and color; which I was very excited about. Yolanda sat me down and just handed me the color swatches and had me pick the color that I wanted. I was expecting to have a much more personal consultation, and that is not what I received. Once I picked my color she then began to examine my hair and told me that the color I selected was relatively subtle and she may not have to use bleach. I never questioned this because I figured youre the professional so you would know better than I would. After my consultation was completed and my color was selected the stylist Marion who I thought was doing my hair walked over confused as to why I was being seen my another stylist. To me this says the salon has very little communication because confusion was evident and as a new client this did not make me feel like I was in good hands. So as I continued to sit the issue was resolved; Marion was scheduled to do my color and Yolanda was scheduled to do my silk press. Clearly the receptionist failed to communicate this to the stylist. However I was still in a very cheerful mood at this point because I hadn’t had my hair done at a salon in a few years and I was really excited about my color because I wanted a new look. After being shampooed and conditioned I proceeded to Marion’s chair for color. As she was applying the color she mentioned that it was communicated to her that I did not want bleach added to my color and she said “at least that’s what Yolanda told me”. I never made that statement, Yolanda said to me that bleach probably wouldn’t have to be used because of how light my hair is and the subtlety of the color; once again poor communication. After the color had time to set and it was washed out I went to Yolanda’s chair and she was giving the impression that the color was not that visible, at this point I became very uneasy. Yolanda began to blow dry my hair and I was looking at my ends for the color I asked for (I requested ombre) and the color was basically non-existent! I became very upset and I was ready to walk out, and I should have! After my hair was blown out, I could already see that my hair was weighed down. I have fine hair so whatever she put in it was WAY TO HEAVY so I could already forecast the end result. The receptionist came over as closing time was drawing near to collect money for the service. I already had made up in my mind that I was not paying for color I could not see! The receptionist did tell me they weren’t going to charge me for the color, and I made sure to let her know I was not happy and that I felt my hair looked the exact same color as when I walked in. She replied back to me “it’s not the same color, it is ombre”; big mistake. The last time I checked the customer was always right and you don’t try to argue with a client that already is not happy, but clearly she just did not care. I should not have given them a dime of my money; my hair was very greasy and weighed down, my color was invisible, my overall first time experience was TERRIBLE, and on top of that I was in the salon for a total of 5hrs which was a TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. I will never make another visit to this salon, and I am going to make sure I’m very loud about the terrible experience I had.

I paid $125 for a cornrow mohawk with senegalese twist because I am absolutely tired of doing my hair. I made an appointment last minute and the receptionist said that they have a braider available. I get there the next day and the woman assigned to do my hair was perplexed by my request and said that she can do the hair, but shell have to stop when her 12 oclock appointment comes. I was fine with it and let her do my hair. The 12 oclock appointment cancelled so she had more time to do my hair. While she was doing my hair, I was hearing oohs and ahhs from her fellow beauticians and so I was thinking my hair looked just as nice when the African braider did it back in November. Well, I checked out the senegalese twist when I used the restroom and they look jacked up. The lady tried dipping the twist with hot water and sat me under the dryer and the twist were unraveling. She then retwist the braids and used the lighter to burn the ends of it. I come home and I see that some of the twist were not burned. So to make a long story short, leave the African braiding to Africans, not these beauticians who only know how to do silk press because that was all I saw them do. If I can find an African braiding shop who knows how to clean their utensils then I would stick with them.

I went a few months ago, I technically did not have an appt. until the last minute. I think I called a day ahead if not the same day. My stylist was Remi the first time, she was great! I am natural and I just wanted a wash and silk press. Unfortunately, the power went out on the block for approximately an hour! I was told it would be back on shortly but it definitely was out for a whole hour to the point where my hair was completely dry by the time the power came back on! The power cut out in the middle of her blow drying my hair. The staff did their best to accommodate the clients offering water & magazines. They also apologized for the inconvenience but that threw me off a bit. In light of the circumstances, you would think they might offer a lower price for those who chose to stay to have their hair done. Some clients left because of the wait. However, I would have liked for the cashier to acknowledge me as I was being checked out! I felt as though that was a bit rude because I even spoke to her and she didnt even pay attention at all! Overall, my natural hair did turn out great! Remi did a great job! I am going back today and Im set up with Candice, hope all goes well!!! wish me luck.

They where some what professional. The receptionist was rude. And told me I had to get my hair straightened because thats what the stylist available knew how to do. Im not convinced she knew how to trim hair. I asked her to trim art an angle in the back so my hair goes to a point and she flat out gave me an angled chit from the front; and took alittle over 3inches off. #salty on tip of that 3 different stylist told her she looked uncomfortable while trimming. I.e holding the shears incorrectly /awkward. I asked if they could trim my hair since everyone seemed so much more knowledgeable, but she continued. I left there feeling totally uncomfortable with what happened. I was considering going back and trying a different stylist but they had a 2 hour wait and I am from our of town. Had things to do. My experience was January of this year, and I still feel some type of way. I wish I would have said something then. Give them a try everyone experience may not be the same. #supporteachother
