The worst consumer experience Ive ever had. Broke down and stranded, there was no options to research. It began with Cottman asking for payment upfront. This is when the uncomfortable feelings began. Left the truck with them and returned 1 hour later to retrieve something needed from my truck only to find they had closed for the day. When I called the info given was there was a family emergency and would return late that evening. Speaking with the business next door I found that was untrue, the whole company left for the day to visit a museum or something. They perpetuated this lie for the next eight days, The time it took to complete what they did. On the third day, they phoned and needed another $2500.00 (upfront) to complete the repairs. Now I am really feeling trapped. They have my truck disassembled and need more money to finish. They call and informed me the truck was reassembled but it was necessary to take my truck to a Dodge dealer to complete the repairs and I could pick it up the next day at 8:00 am. I was dropped off at 8:00am only to wait until 10:00am for anyone to show up at Cottman. Left the place to get back to NC and less than 200 miles away, the automatic transmission began slipping out of gear, changing gears from 4th to 3rd every few seconds, etc. meaning it still wasnt correct. There was so much grease on the driver side floor mats and carpet that most likely cannot be cleaned. There was damage to the truck camper that was left on the truck, appears they ran into something. No BBB accreditation. I hope this is read and given consideration

I believe in giving everyone a fair chance especially a smaller mom/pop shops. After reading the not so good reviews about Cottmans not following through, being rude etc....., I decided to take my 2007 Maxima there anyway because I was having transmission problems and the location was extremely convenient. Although everyone was very nice, I wont be doing business there. I went in on 2/12/15 and after an inspection, I was told that the person responsible for giving me a quote was not there but would be back later.....Then he may not be back for 2 hours....Then I may not hear from him till tomorrow (2/13/15). It is now 2/16/15 (going on 5 days tomorrow) and I have not heard one word from anyone?? As nice as they were to me, I think I understand why Cottmans received bad reviews. Follow through is key and my confidence that my car would be in a reputable companys hands is shaken. If you are going to compete with the larger companies, take care of the little guys that come your way. Nice people though!

This place offered free estimates, so i took my truck there. I get there and the douche bag owner didnt even look at my car. We drove it and he said i needed a new transmission and then i told him i wanted a estimate, which he could not provide. I took it to another transmission repair shop where they did look at my car, and guess what, only needed a adjustment for 70 buck. This guy wanted 1795 for a new transmission. Dont go here he just wants his money and would not help me out at all. He wasted my time.

I HATE when people try to rip me off. Exhaust works is a terrible place. Anyways, this location fixed my car for a very reasonable price. I was misquoted and they fixed it for me. I never in all of my years thought that a car repair place would call me later and tell me that they did over charge me and was going to give me the difference back. I will always go there for my transmission needs. I hope that they stay honest. As long as they do, I will send all of my friends and family there. Great experience.

What a jerk, The Owner , Call to ask a question about our car and all he could tell me was have your car towed here and will look at it, I tried to ask questions but he was as rude as could be. I ask to speak to the owner and he said he was the owner when I told him he was being rude he said sorry you feel that way and hung up. Now I know why they have a the bad feedback.

Amazing, fast service! I booked my appointment the morning after I cracked my iphone screen, that afternoon Ed came over and fixed it - like new! Was a crazy process to watch, I had no idea there are that many extremely tiny screws in my phone.
