As best I can tell, storage units are as described and entry/exit gate seems functional and adequate. Area manager is capable, so long as she is not asked to resolve any problems. This site recently changed ownership from Mini Storage Depot to Great Value Storage. During this transition, the online bill payment option was non-operative for not less than two billing cycles. As online bill payment was a dealbreaker when I was selecting my storage unit, I was (I feel, understandably) exasperated by needing to pay by phone or in person. I did not feel comfortable making bill payments without any record of their transaction, so I had no option but to pay in person. On March 26, I was notified that online bill payment would return to operation on March 30. On April 15, when online bill payment had not returned, I asked for an estimate on when it would resume. On April 20, I was told that it would be up and running by the end of the week. It was not. On April 27, I attempted to pay my bill in person, only to be told that they were only accepting cash and money orders. Lacking both in sufficient quantities on my person to pay at that time, I returned on May 1 (online bill pay still down) and paid my bill in person. Again. It appears that online bill pay has resumed on the Great Value Storage website, though it requires an account number to register. This account number was never given to me, though the staff offered to provide it to me when I visited in person today to pay my bill. On or around May 27, I received a letter from GVS that was dated May 22. In it, I was told that, due to the change in ownership, I needed to visit the office to sign a new contract. It also indicated that I would be required to purchase insurance on the unit. When I checked out the website before visiting, I saw that the advertised rental rate for a storage unit the size of the one I was renting was about 2/3 as much as I was paying. I went to the office today and was presented with the contract, and told that, in addition to rent, I would be required to buy insurance at ~$11/mo. I mentioned the discrepancy between the rent I was paying and the amount advertised on the website, thinking that the reduced rent should about cover the insurance. The area manager replied that the prices listed on the website were wrong, and shed get that fixed. She refused to honor those prices on my new contract. When I was told that, as a result of the new insurance requirement imposed by GVS, the total cost of renting my storage unit would increase by ~15%, I told the area manager that I was no longer interested in renting my unit, and asked how long I had to vacate the unit (as the terms of the new contract were not acceptable to me.) She indicated that I could pay Junes rent and given notice that I would be leaving without paying for insurance, then attempted to have me sign the contract and a waiver that indicated that I had homeowners insurance which covered off-site storage. I pointed out that I did not have such insurance, which is the basis of the entire problem. I requested that she amend the contract to reflect that I would not be paying for insurance, did not have any of my own, and would be leaving at the end of the month. She angrily replied that I should forget the contract, pay Junes rent and leave at the end of the month, and that it would be fine with management. My conclusion is that the paperwork produced by this company is very sloppy, and one is in danger if one has to rely on it for any reason. While I was certainly not conciliatory and made no effort to comfort the area manager when identifying the problems I was having with her company, the area manager became visibly angry and unwilling to calmly address the problem. I feel that yelling at customers when they are not yelling is poor customer service. It wouldnt be a bad place, if the manager could keep her calm and the company gave tenants notice when changing rental rates or contract terms.

I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! Been there for over six months and they are the most courteous and helpful people. Even when there were no units available for their advertised specials; Linsey was super helpful finding me a comparable deal within my budget. She got me all set up in a jiff and Ive never had a single issue there. Keith is just the nicest most efficient manager. He always makes you a priority and handles any situation in minutes with ease. I love the late hours I can access my unit and I feel this unit is much safer from the previous place I was renting from. Units are clean and this is so close to my home. This is the polar opposite of the previous storage company I was renting from. After a year at a Public Storage facility where they had repeated flooding and break ins, I lost over $2000 of antiques to water damage. The older man at the counter seemed unconcerned and then I had to begin dealing with the insurance company, the agent who had my case just left. So took me a year to settle things. Public Storage also had a bizarre asbestos (but wasnt) like white stuff that their ceilings are coated with, it covers all your stuff with this fluff, even if you cover your stuff, it gets everywhere. Eventually I begin to have a rash reaction which prompted the move to the AMAZING folks at Great Value Storage where you get treated like a valued customer and again; the units are clean as is their entire facility. In short - Great Value Storage ROCKS!

I have been renting here since spring 2015 just before it became GVS. I havent posted a review until now cuz it certainly wouldve turned to a war. Now that the former con-lady manager is GONE (BTW good riddens if icu NEVER its still TOO SOON) I can say something nice. The current (MUCH welcomed&GREATLY NEEDED) Manager, "KEITH" is the MOST POSITIVE & essentially the ONLY change this place needed. He knows how to talk to people and handles concerns respectfully no matter who u are or what u look like. I am delighted to say THANKS TO THE OWNER 4 THIS CHANGE. Yes, some liked the FORMER person but they were not on the receiving end of the eye rolling gestures or being talked to in a condescending manner(in front of other unprofessional staff who is now gone also) which occurred EVERY time i encountered her no matter how polite i tried to be. And since she has been gone, EVERY CENT of my payments correctly post to my account. Additionally, GVS is by far one of the BEST storage facilities in North Columbus with the access hours, cleanliness,&competitive pricing. And NEW MNGMT, cant go wrong! Also note, having KEITH on site also offers an additional sense of security when u must come after hours. What would make this place absolutely perfect is having Keith and Lindsey. Oh well at least she comes occasionally. She is great too!! Thanks again to the owner for the NEEDED CHANGE!

I am currently renting and am elderly, it is really hard for me to open and close my door so I went and knocked on the door of the apartment where one of the staff members Amy lives and asked her if she could help me open my door because I was unable to do it and she came right out and opened it for me and then waited while I got what I needed and added some things and then closed it for me. She was very kind and didnt seem as if was a bother to help me and I greatly appreciate your help.
