It appears my review was removed. Well here it is again. Ill post it 100 times for every time they get it deleted. You will not silence me. in 2007 I got a pair of tires guaranteed 50k miles or they would be replaced free of charge under their Guarantee. When the tires were skin bald at 28k I showed them my odometer and everything. The tires were decent and for the price they performed okay...but they didnt hold up to the guarantee. All they would do is Pro Rate me on a new set guaranteed for the remaining 22k. Thats not honoring the Guarantee that the first set would make it to 50k, thats keeping me locked in to using sub par tires for life because Ill always get them Pro Rated which is second best to being screwed out of the rest of it. Is it really so hard to just honor your own Guarantee at the cost of a customer never doing business with you again? Now for the real problem I had. I worked for Climos Pizza and Chicken right there beside Pepboys and my Alternator failed during a delivery. I got a friend who had a budget of time, and thank God didnt leave me hanging when we had to do the alternator 3 TIMES in a row because every one we got failed upon the first start and run test. First alternator was their cheapest. I am willing to deal with the cheapest being a dud and took it back. It failed their test and they replaced it with the next grade up. I wasnt repeating this again. They tested this one before I took it and they said it passed. So I installed it. It shot my Volts gauge through the roof well into the red above 18...so I took it out and took it back and miraculously it failed...How does that happen?! So I had to get their top of the line. I was stranded, running out of time, and had to get this damn thing fixed to get to work on time and send me friend on his way to live his life again. We got it installed, I got it back to work. This one was brand new, not remanned, and lifetime guarantee. I thought everything was fine and we got this problem dealt with, however 6 months later it failed quite spectacularly. So the same friend wasted more time removing the alternator. I took it back to Pepboys in Cranberry to be assessed and they said it failed because the bearings were destroyed since I tightened the tensioner too tight...funny...considering 1992 Grand Prixs have Automatic Tensioners and it wasnt any tighter on that alternator as it was the last 3 it had, and never did the original stock Alternator lose its bearings. Terrible engineering of parts and thats supposed to be the top of their line. Well they refused to honor that Guarantee as well. I got burned twice, so shame on me this time. I wont and never will give them a third time. If its not fluids or something nonmechanical/nonelectrical and I am in a bind I wont deal with them. Makes me shudder giving them a dollar even for that.

Questionable service but poor customer service. On 3/28/16 I found myself in an awkward position with the manager. Three weeks earlier I had brought my Jeep GC in to have the refrigerant lines tested since it was empty and obviously leaking. The $188 invoice said that they used dye to track the leak but they couldnt find a leak. I was baffled and a bit suspicious so I paid Hartmans Firestone to look for the leak. They called me and said there was no dye in the system and therefore no way their special light could find a leak. They said the input and output always show the dye particularly when they 1st open up the system the rush of refrigerant and dye always leaves a stain; and there was none. That was my first realization that the Pepboys mechanic had not put in the dye. Hartmans then put in the dye and refrigerant for $166 and immediately found the leak. In other words, Pepboys had not done the job correctly. I went back to Pepboys and the manager was civil but still in appropriate. I explained and he said, "He said-she said." In other words, your word against ours. Then he said "hed do me a deal on a new compressor." I was dumbfounded. There was not a chance that I would go back. What terrible responses. Also, In the not too distant past the tech left the oil cap off of my engine and I drove away. You can imagine what could have happened; luckily it was only a small amount of oil. The manager said he was sorry and that was it. I really dont know with exact science that they didnt use the dye but all indicators say they did not. But, his juvenile response of "he said, she said." said to me never to go back.

Ok, so Im giving 2 stars because at the moment the repair is holding up. It appears that the actual workmanship for the repair is good...but...I brought my vehicle in to do insurance work and gave the person at the counter instructions to not do work until the insurance company approved their estimate ... the employee confirmed and said that is how they always worked. The next day they called and said all work was finished, pick up the vehicle. My wife picked up the vehicle, and they told her she owed 438 dollars and that she could not have the vehicle until she payed...where was the insurance in all this?, why did we not get a call from anyone?,.. Because the person sending the fax, confirming the work from the insurer and getting the work done did not do their job!!... Then of course the insurer and the faulty fax machine get blamed. All in all they did not do what they said they where going to do which ended up in a lot more paperwork for me and possibly not getting paid...because someone decided to be lazy. Also while the work on the engine may be good, there was also an oil rag left in the car and dirty oil prints on the doors. I would not recommend this repair shop, because there are many that would do this job the correct way...or at least do what they said they would do.

I have been to this place several times and have regretted almost each of my visit. The place is overpriced and that too the services are not at par with that price. Well I have lot of stories to share but this one is my favorite. My car failed safety inspection due to a bad tie rod. They installed it and also charged me for wheel alignment. 3 months later my front tires worn out because of bad wheel alignment which costs me two new tires. Wow! And About a 4-5 months from then one of my tie rod went bad. When I called them up to claim parts warranty they said they do not hold any records for which side was the tie rod was changed. Neither my receipt had any details on it. So, I am left with another reason to make my wallet loose some weight. Moreover, they will never look at your car unless you drop it. Sometimes all you need is a quick computer code read to diagnose higher level issues for you to take better decision planning you car drop which is offered by many other service centers in the area...These guys are not at all Pep!!
