I want to thank the entire team at George Automotive Services in Danville for doing a great job on my Dodge Caravan. This is a garage that you can trust. True professional service and results. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for and if your vehicle means a lot to you, you want what’s best for it and that is George Automotive Services in Danville (behind Old Forge Brewing Co.) They have a person on staff that talks to you and explains in detail (and in common English) what is really going on with your car and what the technicians recommend be repaired during your visit. People may think their labor is a bit on the high side, however, if you spent as much money as I did going to the “bargain mechanic” you would understand that getting the job done right the first time will save you a lot of money down the road. My prior garage charged very low for their labor, but the quality of the work was also very low and that had my vehicles in the garage more than they were out. At George’s, you have ASE certified professionals working on your vehicle and that work is backed by a 2 year or 24,000-mile warranty (on parts and labor). Do yourself (and your ride) a favor, and stop into George’s the next time your vehicle needs work.

Terrible experience with this business. First time, I took my car in for an oil change, called the night before to make an appointment and dropped it first thing in the morning. They told me I was the first car to be serviced for the day. I didnt hear anything and called at roughly 2 in the afternoon, whereupon they told me my car was JUST going into the bay to be serviced. I foolishly gave them another chance recently when my brakes failed me. It was clear that the rear caliper needed replacing before I even took it in. They quoted me over $400, citing a "Diagnostic Fee" of $85!!! One phone call later and I found a reputable, family-owned garage in Danville who completed the job for under $200 total. Dont waste your time or money, go somewhere else!!

Took my car in for an inspection and after they handed me my bill I was surprised by the total so I took it to another auto shop for a second opinion. After the second opinion I came to find out that Georges billed me for issues that my car didnt have. On top of that they missed things that my car needed for inspection. So instead of me paying over $900 I am paying half the amount and they actually found all issues necessary for my car to pass inspection. Lost a lot of respect for this place. Tried tricking me and I am sure they have done this before.

I called for a simple quote on a transmission service and the lady on the phone said she would call me back within 15-20 minutes. Two hours go by and nothing. Finally I called back she said she would call me back by the end of the day, again never called back. I called again the next morning and again the same thing, "I can call you back by the end of the day." This also happened the previous week when I called about my Passat. It seems that if you dont want to pay them $85 for a diagnostic since its your first time their they dont want your business.

Was quoted as needing over $550 worth of work to pass inspection, so I took it to another garage, Kresslers in Bloomsburg, and they passed me for $16 worth of work, just needed new wiper blades. At best Georges doesnt understand what is required for passing inspection, and at worst they are purposefully deceiving people. They give credence to the unfortunate stereotype of car maintenance garages seeing their patrons as helpless sheeple needing to be taken advantage of. Go elsewhere for business please, Kresslers is a great, honest spot.

Pros Nice people Got me in quick Allowed me to come back and only pay for sticker Decent prices Cons Got inspections Bad measuring Said rotors were bad they were not I found nothing wrong said tires were 2/32 I measured 4/32 Took my rotors to two other garages nothing wrong found and they measured my tires at 4/32 and 5/32 Overall they were ok but should not have failed inspection and I had to pay 180 for brakes and rotors I did not need

They did a great job with the services I requested as well as letting me know what services or parts I should consider. They explained the bill prior to me leaving and followed up the next day to make sure all was well. Good service.
