Outstanding quality, expertise and trustworthiness June 13, 2013 This dealership is an outstanding find for the quality of their cars, their expertise in car maintenance and repairs and the general trustworthiness and friendliness of the owners and their staff. I have purchased two automobiles from European Autos (a Mercedes and a BMW) after having had them handle our repairs for several years. Their cars are immaculate and above industry value, with a 90 day, 3,000 mile guarantee. For repairs, I cannot commend this dealership more highly! Their work is completed in a timely manner and their rates are very reasonable. The facility is spotless, reflecting the care and attention to detail that distinguishes this business, with state of the art equipment and a small, but highly skilled group of mechanics specializing in Volvo, BMW, Cooper, Benz, Audi and Porsche repairs; they also handle high end luxury cars like Lamborghini and Bentley. Most importantly, the owners and their staff are trustworthy, honest people who will provide you with accurate information to help you make an informed decision about your purchases and repairs. I recommend them highly and without reservation!

I have an 89 Mercedes 420 SEL, to make the story short..car had some extensive engine work done to it and it was never drivable afterwards..in shops for approximately 2.5 years and I dont even want to think about the money I put in it. I finally just picked up the car..running on about six cylinders and brought it home. I stopped by European Cars and had a conversation with Gus, explained all the details etc. and he says "based on what you tell me, I can fix the car..no problem" I quickly reminded him that several other shops have attempted with no luck. Still "I am confident I can fix it" Needless to say shortly after taking the car there I receive a call from Gus, " we are ready to go, come down an give it a test drive". Understand that the only reason I was still messing with this car is my wife loves the thing. So I get her and go European Cars to test the car. Bottom line is ...it runs better than when we bought the car !! Perfect idle, excellent acceleration, and a happy wife. Gus is the Man and the place to take your Euro Cars is European Cars of Williamsburg, VA.

Called European Cars of Williamsburg and requested a price estimate for a 75,000 mile maintenance service on an Audi. Gus answered the phone and I asked “Sir, what is the charge for an 75,000 mile maintenance service for an Audi?". He explained in a rather frustrated mood “I dont know they are all different." I said “Ok, sir do you have an estimate cost of the service like an itemized list?" He explained "Aint no estimate on nothing, give me the VIN number and I can give you the exact cost." Now, mind you he was not the most pleasing person to talk to and his attitude was not very professional. I manage 567 people and deal with issues 24/7. I imagine Gus (owner of establishment) deals with personnel and issues as well. A possible recommendation or solution is to have all calls routed to a receptionist that is more delightful. I cannot make a statement on the quality of work due to the fact I have never had any services rendered from this establishment, and with Guss attitude, I never will.

We have a 03 VW Jetta wagon that has had some very hard to diagnose electrical and sensor problems that other shops is the area did not want to get involved with. On two occasions Gus quickly diagnosed the problem and called before making any repairs. They only uses the highest quality parts and left our Jetta running better than it had in years. The bills were very reasonable and much less than others I read about on VW forums from owners with the same problems. They did not even charge for diagnosing the problem or scanning the engines computer. Out of curiosity, I called the local dealership and asked them for a quote for the same work and parts. After going through two technicians that did not know what I was talking about, I received an estimate that was almost twice what I was charged at European cars. To sum up: excellent work and service, quality parts, and very reasonable pricing makes this the best place for European cars around.

I took my car in for a very small repair and asked the manager, Gus, to call me before he performed service because I am a college student and would only be able to afford the service if it was under a certain amount. I did not receive a phone call for two days, and on the third day, I received a call telling me my car was ready to be picked up. They had not informed me of the problem with my car or how much it would cost, and are trying to charge me over $100 for changing a fuse and a lightbulb. I reminded them they were supposed to have called me before performing service, and they only said they had forgotten. I asked for a discount because of this oversight, and the manager said he would rather make more work for his mechanics, undo the work they did, than give me any sort of discount for their slip-up. Terrible service and taking advantage of a local college student. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

I took my car here for service. I waited two days and didnt receive a call from the shop. I called and asked how things were going with the issue. They said it took two days to find out about the problem. I waited another day and called back after they talked to the warranty company. They said the bill would be $1100 for a coolant leak and the warranty would pick up $600. I explained that I only wanted what the warranty company would cover. They said they would call the next day. I waited until 4pm and called back. The owner explained that he wasnt making enough money on the job and that I should just come pick up my car. I couldnt believe it. I went over, paid for the diagnostic charge and left . I would never take my car back here. The location needs to learn how to treat customers properly. I am now trying to find another place to take my car.

Extremely disappointed in owners (Gus) and sons (Chris) attitude/demeanor towards me as a new customer. After being recommended by others for service on my 2005 Mercedes Benz SLK350 (pristine/immaculate condition; 26,000mi), I asked for an estimate for a spark plug (x6) and air filter (x2) change (I had plugs/filters) and a reset of my electrical/audio settings after a battery replacement. In addition to their attitude (arrogance, bordering on contempt; barely acknowledged my presence; extremely condescending about my knowledge of my own automobile), the price quoted was very high compared to other reputable shops in the area (Howards, AAA, etc.). I understand and appreciate they repair/maintain "luxury, high-end" automobiles but Im apparently more of a frugal and sensible customer than they are accustomed to seeing.

I called European Cars of Williamsburg to get a quote on a Vanos system refurbish for my BMW M3. When I called the first time I was asked what my VIN# was. I was kind of skeptical so I told the guy I spoke with I would call him back. When I called back a guy name Gus answered. Immediately after I told him what I wanted to have done, he started grilling me on why I needed it done, why I thought it was the Vanos system, who told me it was the Vanos, and how do I know that. When I told him that the BMW Dealer told me what needed to be done, he asked me "why didnt you get it done there"? I was shocked by his attitude, but also his overall arrogant and dismissive personality. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
