Its simple: DO NOT GO HERE. I know its tough to choose a mechanic based on these reviews since so many are glowing and so many are scathing, but trust me when I say the negative reviews for this Midas are completely true. I went in for my yearly spate of inspections, but came back to a rather grave warning from the mechanic (I believe his name is Mike) about how my car was "smoking badly" when they started it. Mike recommended I get a fuel system clean-out to repair this problem, but this was not required to pass the inspection. This came as quite a shock because my car had not exhibited any such problems until I took it to Midas, but as soon as I started it to get home, my car began emitting plumes of acrid white smoke from the exhaust pipe. I was quite panicked because the repair Mike recommended is quite expensive, but much to my fortunate surprise, the smoke was no longer present after driving it a second time, third time, fifth time and seventh time. Confused, I did a bit of research online and came to find out that the temporary smoke coming from my car can be easily caused by adding a bit of cleaner in the intake. I also consulted Car Talks forums for their take on the situation and came back with multiple diagnoses of attempted fraud (for example: "Two ounces of top engine cleaner in the intake manifold will cause smoke from the tail pipe for about ten minutes"). To me, the worst crime any mechanic could commit is breaking the customers trust. I didnt ask for much, just some simple routine maintenance for a reasonable price. And what did Midas do? They took that trust, shattered it, threw the shards right back in my face and hoped Id be oblivious enough to misinterpret their actions as honest, compassionate and worthy of repeat business. It bears repeating: DO NOT GO HERE. This Midas is all about profits and will go to any length necessary to squeeze every last dime they can out of you. PS- If youre looking for someone trustworthy, check out the Meineke down the road. I went to them for my inspections last year and had a complete opposite experience...very trustworthy and customer-oriented. The only reason I did not go a second time was due to a tighter-than-usual budget.

Do NOT go here. Tried to convince me to get work done at over 600% markup and mechanic incompetence almost got me KILLED. All seemed above board, at first. I went in for a brake and oil change. The manager (Michael) seemed dismissive but competent. Gave them my key fob and let them get to work. The manager eventually proceeded to try to get me to sign off on a $1500 estimate. Some of the parts listed were shown at over a 600% markup from market value, and the labor cost was set for several hours of work for each job that takes a half an hour if youre moving slowly. Obviously I declined and just had the oil change, brakes cleaned and tires balanced. After paying and having them pull the car up front, I of course assume my car is fine. I start it up and prepare to drive into traffic fifty feet away. But the dashboard is lit up with 4 error lights. ABS, Brake, tires, and one other. Confused, I pull over into a parking lot instead. Only to have to SLAM on my barely functioning brakes to be able to stop. I almost just pulled into traffic with malfunctioning brakes. I head back inside and they have the mechanic come out. He drives it with me inside. Can tell its obviously messed up, though somehow he didnt pay enough attention to have noticed the issues when he drove it out front for me the first time. They take it back in and figure out they didnt reset the codes after the work. I drive it to make sure its working properly now and it is. I go back inside the shop, reasonably upset that their error almost ended up with me in a wreck. The manager is completely unapologetic. Keeps trying to say they didnt do anything wrong by giving me my car back when not functioning properly. Ends the conversation by saying, "What do you want me to do? Have a nice day." and walks away. This gross level of unapologetic incompetence, and attempting to overcharge by over six times the price of parts is unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs. Example of price gouging: Estimate for wheel hub assembly: $330 for parts, $120 for labor Part goes for $50 for a 2008 prius, job takes half an hour if youre slow with the car already up and wheels off.

First of all, I had previously had a great comment from here until this last experience. My wife took the car back to this location for a reinspection after I had made some necessary repairs. Instead of just reinspecting the vehicle, they talked her into a slew of unnecessary repairs, (Here are the funny parts)to include a 65.00 oil change, which on the receipt had a extra quart of oil for 8.99 as opposed to 7.99 for the other 5 quarts, a 40.00 random out of nowhere wheel balance,( because why not) an air filter replacement(ok maybe that) and a throttle body cleaning which had just been completed 2 days before. When I called the manager to try to get a refund for the throttle body cleaning, he became very defensive. After telling him that I had a receipt for the previous work completed and felt he had completely taken advantage of my wifes lack of knowledge, he couldnt have been more rude and told me that he wasnt going to sit there and "take these shots from me" and he did us a favor, and hung up on me. Thanks buddy, I appreciate the "favor" by taking food off our table. I will never, I repeat, never go to this location again.

If I could give no stars I would. That fella Mike is a poor representation for Midas. I called the corporate customer service and left a detailed description of my experience. Mike was very rude when I told him I was going to have to think about getting a $99.99 diagnostic check. I guess Mike doesnt realize it is close to Christmas and money is tight....... All he kept saying was, "what did you think I was going to quote you at"? Basically shaming me. AND it was in front of 5 people waiting in the waiting room. Are you serious? So I just walked away and he yelled in a super patronizing tone "have a nice day". And, I am pretty sure he said he should "kick my ass" WTF?..... ......so i proceeded to let him know how I felt, and told him where to go.

Helpful, friendly manager- As the owner of a Meineke Car Care Center (a direct competitor) I called Michael because one of his prior customers moved way down south to Denver, NC. A steering part they had installed last year had gone bad, and in an effort to save our customer some money, Michael willingly gave me all the information needed to allow us to have their defective part warrantied out at a nearby auto parts store. In similar past situations, I cant remember anyone being this friendly and helpful, especially during a call from a competitor. Now, thats what I call two businesses working together. A rare thing these days. Thanks, Michael. Im taking care of Rob down here, and I told him you were a standup guy.

I believe they have different pricing for different people, Kudos to those of you who get fair pricing. My 18 year old son took his truck there and was charged $350.00 for a part that only cost $55.00 (ABS Hub) they also charged him $150.00 to put it up on their lift........only took them 45 minutes to replace just 1 ABS hub and the total bill was $600.00. Rip off is an understatement and the fact that this MIke will rip off a broke college student makes me believe he doesnt have any morals. Doing business with these people is a mistake. Hope it comes back to you three-fold!!!!
