For $25 each (quickly installed), I buy almost-new used tires from shops in Kensington, North Philly, and elsewhere. After decades of purchasing both new and used tires, I have come to the conclusion that used tires last about as long as new ones do, despite costing five to 10 times less! As for Blatt, they get the job done, but at an enormous cost and only after long waits. Count on waiting only 10 to 15 minutes at used tire shops, but at least a couple hours at new tire sellers. The time savings alone makes the former a bargain. As for Joes comment, I likewise was baited and switched by Blatt. Do not believe their telephone quotes, as they are just a deception to lure you into their store.

I called the company to get a price quote for a tire installation. They gave me the price quote that included the installation, mounting, balancing, tire disposal, tax and all fees. That is, they gave me the grand total. I reconfirmed that the price was the Grand Total and they the man whom I spoke with said: "yes, the grand total". In a few hours, I came in to install new tires. Can you believe this? The price they gave me over the phone was the cost of the tire itself only. The new grand total now was a lot more than the grand total they gave me a few hours ago over the phone. They made me feel a complete idiot. This is my first and last time I deal with this company.

The only good thing that I have to say about Blatt is that they will not vandalize or sabotage your car in unprovable ways if they get mad at you, like some dealers will. Blatts prices are relatively high for almost everything , their mechanics are as slow as a dead snail, and their advertised specials are just a ploy to get you into their stores so they can attempt to sell you on unnecessary repairs. But you could do worse. The car repair/tire business is cutthroat.
