I had the unfortunate experience dealing with Tom Golden Plumbing when my hot water heater went bad on me. Since the hot water heater was covered under my home warranty I did not have a choice on my plumber and had to work with Tom.... I was not in town when the hot water tank wend down and had to get my MIL to come over the house and to let Toms workers in so they could look at the tank. My MIL had to wait over 2 hours on the scheduled time until they showed up on Monday. They did not come back till Friday to replace the hot water heater and still wanted me to pay $250 for labor that was not covered on warranty they also wanted $150 to take the old tank out. (I was able to do that myself) At this time I was so tired of not having hot water I didnt even want to fight it and told him to do it. I was home when they installed the new tank and they didnt have to do anything out of the ordinarily. Of course they wanted to be paid right after they installed the new tank and I didnt have the check book and they dont take CC. On Monday morning I get a call from Tom who is all upset that I didnt pay his guys on Friday and he said he was going to stop over so I could pay him. I told Tom I would need a invoice for the charges that are not covered on the warranty so I can understand what the charges are. Tom dropped off the invoice and expected to get paid right then. I told him that I would send a check out and told him he was no rush to get the new tank in but now he is in a rush to get paid... He wasnt to happy when he left my house.. After reviewing the invoice and adding up the charges the total came to $228 and he wanted me to pay $250 for some reason. needless to say I sent in a check for $228. A week later I received a call form Tom, he was saying he never received a check. I went online and saw the deposited check in my PNC account. He had no idea that the check was chased and he wanted me to send another check out. I would not recommend using him unless you have to and make sure you get a invoice. He donst know how to run his own business.

Worst experience on a service call I have ever had. I had to use this company per my home coverage and will not be recommending them. This plumber took my money and refused service because I was a woman home and my husband was at work. The service shows up two hours late after multiple calls requesting a time frame politely. Two men were in the truck one would not get out. The vehicle was unmarked and the men did not have any identification. Both looked suspicious and one came in to look at the plumbing in my bathroom. When I asked him if he needed to see the portion of the plumbing in the basement he said no why would I? He told me that the fix was not covered by my home insurance AFTER demanding my pre payment (which he gladly pocketed) and walked toward his truck. No quote was offered for if I wanted to pay out of pocket. I asked him if he planned to just take my money and leave and he confirmed this is what he planned to do. Gentlemen, IF YOU WANT YOUR WIFE TO FEEL SAFE IN HER OWN HOME and you do not want to be taken for a scam ride DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. I live in a neighborhood that thankfully is filled with many professional plumbers who would be happy to assist us with our plumbing. Unfortunately, Mr. Golden could not be bothered with professionalism or integrity.

As the rest of the people that had the mis fortune of dealing with this company due to home warranty my story is the same. 2 hours late, attempted to chage $385 in extras. Blowdown tube 47.50 lied about code and used inferior materials when old one was better and ready for re instal, $28 for a permit he did not pull, $67.50 for di electric Union which wasnt needed or installed because new water heater is equipped already, $85 for plumbing modifications that are just part of install and wanted $135 to dispose of old water heater which is stainless steel lined and scap yard will pay you for, plus tax. As a contractor I new something was a miss but average homeowner may not. If there was negative stars that would be his rating. Of course after all this it leaks still. Do Not Use this Contractor no matter what. Insurance company has been advised!

I recently had Tom at my house for a failed hot water heater.I have a home warranty and they sent him. I got a call from the home warranty company after his visit that my heater could be replaced but there were going to be additional charges from the plumber exceeding $350.00. My husband was a plumber for over 40 years. Unfortunately, he is deceased. He was always fair and never took advantage of his customers. I think Tom is a rip off artist. He gets $100.00 for every service call and charges additional costs because people are desperate. I told the home warranty that I would get my own plumber to install the hot heater. They will reimburse me for the charges up to $721 which I think is very fair. I am going to call the home warranty company and tell them about all these complaints and suggest that they stop using him.

We dealt with Tom when we used our home warranty and it was literally one of the worst experiences we have had with a "professional". Tom spoke to us like we too were plumbers and was extremely rude and disrespectful. Would not fix the plumbing leak and told us not to use a filter and the leak would go away. Worse he told lied to the home warranty company and told them there was no leak, that I was pouring water under the sink, and we were rude to him. If you want someone like that to work with, then I suggest calling Tom. I strongly urge you to use someone else, and not use him as your plumber.

I was nervous based on some of the reviews of other people who had to use this plumber because of the home warranty, but I was pleasantly surprised. I filed the claim on a Saturday for toilets that wouldnt flush correctly and had someone out on Monday. Warren, was extremely nice and explained everything he was doing and had the problem fixed in a matter of minutes.

Tom and his partner were sent via an insurance claim I filed through the home warranty company, First American, for a leaky shower faucet. They quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed the leak by installing a replacement stem for the faucet. Tom is a seasoned professional plumber who knows how to do a job right.
