Took my car to the Willow Grove Pep Boys for what turned out to be a hellish experience that ruined my Christmas holiday. I Arrived Saturday morning for what I thought was routine maintenance. Coolant exchange, State Inspection i.e. I was told I had to leave the car and they would contact me later that day when it was done. In retrospect, I should have immediately returned to retrieve my car and went elsewhere when hours later I received a call saying they had locked the key in with the car running. I also missed my second chance to escape the cruel clutches of this den of horrors when I was told that they would be closing soon and the car wouldnt be ready until the next Tuesday. I was extremely disappointed but figured I still had late Tuesday to join my family in MD. for holiday Christmas Eve/Morning. After multiple futile taxi rides, broken promises and various excuses, it is near closing time Christmas eve and I am only now receiving my car and a $1200 bill dated 2 days earlier. That was my Christmas 2015. My anger is slight but only compared to the hurt i feel by this experience. Larry Long

This is probably the worst shop, Ive ever dealt with. The review below about poor communication is 100% correct. Our mini van broke down on the turn pike, AAA, towed us there on Sunday. We had an appointment to have it looked at on Monday at 10:30 am. We heard nothing by noon, so we called, they didnt look at it, they ended up looking at it on Tuesday, but literally did nothing to the van, called back as to what the problem is, it was a problem with the bolt on the break caliper. They didnt order a part, we asked why, they said the part isnt made anymore and to look in a junk yard. Funny because it was found at autozone no problem. We ended up having it towed to k and k (on thursday!) right down the street, who not only had it fixed it hours but told us that had we just put a bolt in, wed have broken back down because the whole caliper needed replaced. Seriously this pep boys not only doesnt communicate but Im not really sure if they know what they are doing with automotives. Avoid at all costs.

I brought my car into pep boys for service this passed weekend, and it was packed. I really didnt want to bring it to pepboys after reading everyones reviews but I was stuck in a jam. A younger fellow,I believe his name was Chris came outside inthe cold and got right underneath it to check out my tire, which kept getting flat. He noticed there was a nail/screw right near the sidewall. All I wanted was to get it plugged, he said it was possible toplug it but wasnt able to due to pep boys standards. He then explained the chances of a blowout while turning due to the load of pressure on the plug. instantly won me over with his honesty and always gave me an option. He gave me an estimate on a new tire and explained to me there was a 2-3 hour wait. I was there for an hour, he always kept me informed on the repair process and time length. Five stars for pep boys hope everyone gives them a chance!

Avoid the Willow Grove pep boys! I paid to have my new tires from tire rack mounted and balanced here, and within 2000 miles the wheel weights had almost all fallen off. Their warranty covers wheel balancing from defects in workmanship or materials for the life of the tire, but the service manager refused to rebalance my wheels because wheel weights coming off like that is "normal." I called other pep boys locations and they unanimously agreed that this should be covered. The North Wales location voluntarily honored my warranty claim and offered to balance my wheels for me. I told this to the Willow Grove service manager and gave him one more chance to make this right- he again refused. This is far from my first bad experience here but the first time I actually called and filed a complaint. If you need real customer service, make the trip to the North Wales location- its worth it!

Mixed feelings, but would try the store again. Asked a few questions as I was looking for a few specific items. The store was not perticularly busy, infact I was 1 of maybe 3 or 4 people shopping. One gentleman behind the parts counter at the rear of the store seemed almost irritated with my question, as if I should be reading the signs first, and not wasting his time. The second younger man wjalking the floor, stopped to answer aner question I had about various trickler chargers. He explained the cost difference, and asked what I was going to use it for. Then he suggested a model, and told me why he suggested it, amperage draw. He had an intelligent conversation, and did not patronize based on my line of questions. All in I spent $100...left to the first contact in the store, I should have turned around and walked out. Spending 0....I only regret, I did not get there names.

I WISH I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE I EVER WENT THERE. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO BUT NO RESPONSE AND NO RETURN TO MY CALL. BOTTOM LINE IS THEY DONT CARE. HERE IS MY STORY. I ordered a battery online and scheduled an appointment for installation. I went there at scheduled time an they said the order is not ready so they cannot install it. It took whole 25 min to convince them and get the battery from the back with "i dont want to deal with you" attitude of employees. The young guy couldnt calculate 25% off and treated me like an idiot yet he couldnt understand the calculation himself. I ended up returning it after 30 min of scheduled time because i would lose $10 along with my precious time.

why didnt I listen to the reviews?? everything written here is true sadly. these people lie and could swear they almost hate having your business so take it elsewhere.. my story- scheduled an appointment here on Monday for today (Sunday) at 12pm when I came into this location they told me that they wouldnt get around to my car until 5 or 6pm. what the heck is the point of an appointment then??? please heed my words and dont ever get your car serviced at pep boys. this was the last chance they had to earn my business and they blew it. needless to say about 15 phone calls later I found a nice mom and pop shop to take me in same day and was out within 15 minutes. DONT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR TIME. you will lose it

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE IDIOTS. Seriously, they are incompetent and they are inconsistent. I took a car there to have my brake fluid flushed. The car was working properly at this point. They called me to tell me my brakes were not working, but they wouldnt tell me how they werent working. Then they told me my alternator was shot, and it would cost 600 to repair. I took the car (with much difficulty) across the street to a new mechanic. He opened the lid and found brake fluid all over the motor. He told us that this could have shorted out the alternator. Pepboys was unwilling to fix the problem which was only noticeable after their mechanics "fixed" the car. Do not take your car here.
