Let me start this by saying I have never felt the need to write a review about any place of business and I would never go out of my way to write something to deface someones business based off of nothing. Its not really fair to take one semi negative experience someone has at a place of business and potentially turn business away from someone by writing a bad review. However, I felt I should write a review about the experience I had at this location last Wednesday because it was really unbelievable. I showed up at the Addison location as soon as it began to open and told one of the guys there that I had an oil leak. The guy I spoke to was for one, rude and didnt seem interested in having any real conversation with me about my car. He simply took my keys pulled my vehicle around and went down to take a look under the vehicle. As he is down there he starts telling me how I will have to replace the whole timing belt system (which I had just recently replaced, by the way) and the oil leak is bad enough that they will essentially have to rebuild the whole left side of the engine. He then tells me this will cost me $1,500.00! This was after 5 minutes of looking at my vehicle. After his outrageous quote I ask him to write all of that down so that I can have my friend who is a mechanic double check everything and I would come back if the quote he gave me was reasonable. As soon as I told him I knew a mechanic his whole demeanor changed and the quote suddenly dropped to $1,000 and instead of writing any of this information down for me he just grabbed his coffee and walked away. This was the second time I have been at this location in order to get a quote. The first time was for a timing belt that they originally quoted me at...you guessed it $ 1,500. I had someone else do it for 500. I came back to this place just to see if these guys were honest, and come to find out these guys are complete scammers. Im so glad I didnt give my money to any of these guys cause the oil leak I am talking about ended up costing me a whopping..100 bucks. Today I had my friend look at it, he said everything this guy told me was BS and he fixed the problem for 100 bucks. What was the issue? The silicone on the oil pan was thinning out so it was causing a very MINOR leak. All he did was take it off, put some RTV silicone on the oil pan and put it back on. That is it! These guys however think they can charge anyone who walks in fifteen hundred dollars for this. Its unbelievable! I plan on making it my life mission to do whatever I can to keep these guys from getting more business. To the owner of this place of business you can expect for this same review to be put up on any review site you can imagine. Do not trust these guys, they will invent problems to take your money plain and simple.

I stopped to get oil changed. They were pretty fast. They told me I needed to do a Power Steering fluid flush as they said my fluid was dirty as well as my brake fluid. I told them I would try to come back as I didnt have time that day.. ( the truth was - my son is a master mechanic for Toyota and wanted to check with him first ) ... They were very nice about it but stressed that if I didnt flush the steering fluid it would soon start to squeal and could mess up the motor.... I mentioned it to my son later that day and he had me come over to his shop to take a look. He said the fluid was fine ( Not Dirty ) He also noticed a lot of oil under the car.. mentioned that I should always bring it to him ( I didnt want to bother him for such a small thing as an oil change) He said they sure did a sloppy job as oil was all over that area.. I went on my way then I started noticing a little smoke coming from under the hood but son said they had spilled a bunch of oil under there so I figured it just needed to burn off.. Then about a week later the power steering began to squeal. ...Hmmmm... I called my son and he took a look.. Fluid was very low .. After further inspection he discovered a leak in the pressure line of the power steering. He changed the hose and discovered a very small puncture in the line. not a rubbed hole due to wear or a crack but a very clear perfectly round puncture from ....??? . Im not saying Samstone did it but .........the coincidence is just to much to ever return there again. My son on the other hand is convinced they did... since I had never had trouble with the power steering before and this all happened just after taking it to them for an oil change and after they made such a big deal about needing to change the steering fluid ... Lesson learned.... I will always bother my son for even the smallest repairs as this repair cost me $ 140 for a new hose and an hour and a half of my sons time. Buyer be ware !!!!

- Friday July 7th 2017 - I wanted to find a different auto shop than my current one because I wasnt happy with the pricing so I looked around and choose Samstone. I wanted to like this place. I prefer little "mom and pop" type Service Stations because my father is a auto shop and tow service owner in Minnesota. I prefer to give little shops my patronage. Pascal and his tech were really friendly and seemed knowledgeable. Customer Service was great, prices were as expected. The facilities needed updating but they were fine and reminded me of my dads shop. BUT! I needed my car inspected and an oil change as well as a general look over, I also asked him to check my tire. The check tire pressure light came on the morning I brought the car in. I mentioned it seemed to be a pinhole leak. After the service he went over a couple replacements/repairs that needed to be done and they were expected for the milage my car was at; belt, cabin filter, tranny fluid. Again all expected. But Pascal didnt mention the tire, I had to bring it up. He shrugged and said "nah its fine. Just low pressure. We took care of it." I was hesitant but heck Im not the mechanic so I trusted him. WELL several hours later while I was working. The damn light came on. I pulled over and got out of my car. There was a hissing sound and I watched as my tire went flat. "Its fine" my ass!! I lost an hour and a half of work and wasted that time trying to change the damn thing. I am so frustrated right now! This could have been prevented if they actually checked my tire for a leak. Tomorrow morning I will be at Samstone tossing down my flat and seeing how they can correct there mistake. Not happy at all...

Typical doom and gloom shop. Stopped in for an inspection, and had them change the fluids, as this was a semi-neglected car. Liked the mechanic, thought they did good work, so I brought my main driver in to have the oil changed and knock sensor replaced. The manager who must have attended every class at used car salesman university, that wasnt there the day before, called me and warned me that the oil pan was stripped out. Stupidly, I just agreed to it, even though I wasnt losing oil between changes. They said that it was going to be $250 for the pan, plus $80 for installation. I went along with it, and after taking the car home, found that they used an $80 stamped steel oil pan, instead of the $250 aluminum like the one that was on there before. Went through a huge hassle to at least get what I paid for, and now theres a leak from that area. I called the owner of Samstone, took my car to the shop in Allen to have them look at it, and they had the nerve to try to upsell me for more service instead of fixing what they broke! While waiting in the waiting area to have the proper pan put on, I noticed that they fail everyone they can on at least windshield wipers; they keep a healthy stock of poorly made Chinese ones in the back to upsell. Steer clear of this place. If you are already stuck there in their waiting room because you just stopped in for routine work or an inspection, dont let them guilt/threaten/scare you into unnecessary work. Hold your ground and be firm.
