So this review is going to be a little long but if you are considering hiring this company for your move I would urge you to read it to hear my experience with Piece by Peace Moving and specifically with their owner Mr. Jason Sturrock. I won’t get too into the details of the move itself but what I will tell you about is the floor damage that was caused by them at both my old condo and our new duplex which had brand new floors when we moved in so it is obvious they were caused during the move by their equipment. The property manager at my old place was at my apartment soon after Piece by Peace was there (At my place they only did half as much as Muscled Man movers did on my last move and PBP had more guys) and noticed that there were several track marks in the flooring running in and out of the door and through the unit. I went there and attempted to clean up the marks but it was obvious the floors were scratched, my girlfriend also attempted to clean up the marks, and my property manager even brought in a cleaning service who specializes in getting properties ready between tenants who had no luck at all. We had been texting Mr Sturrock for over a week after the move to inform him of the many issues we had with his company’s service and the damage but we did not get a response for weeks. After we had learned about the cleaner’s failed attempt at clearing up the marks she again texted him explaining the issue and was met with a “Who is this?” reply. He claimed that he had lost his phone but he again became unresponsive to attempts to reach out after that. I emailed him later that week letting him know again about the damage and that me and my property managers would expect his help in getting the marks cleared up. The company is advertised as being licensed and insured so this should not have been a big deal and to Mr Sturrock’s credit he did (finally) respond promptly and asked if he could get access to the property to get some photos of the marks to show to his “floor guy”(at this point I was only asking him to address the damage at my old place as we had not yet had a chance to evaluate the extent of the damage at our new place). I let him in and proceeded to show him where the marks on the floor were (everywhere) in the unit so he could get his requested pictures then. Even now I’m still not sure what switch got flipped in his brain but the Mr Sturrock blew his top and started: yelling, cursing, disparaging my girlfriend (who had been nothing but courteous to him even while lodging her complaints) and her mother who was a witness to the entire move along with several other people, telling me stories about the plans and scheduling for the move that are in direct contradiction to text conversation threads we have on record, making accusations about how my girlfriend and her mother (who has some pretty severe mobility issues) caused all the problems which is in direct conflict with witness accounts, saying he would refuse to help and would get his lawyer involved. He did semi-calm down for a bit and indicated he would be willing to bring in his own cleaning service to take another crack at up the marks on the floor but then he started getting belligerent again and I had to demand he leave the property. It was by far the most unprofessional display I have ever seen in my life. After speaking to my property manager I sent him an email to invite him to make good on scheduling the cleaners and getting him connected to make the proper arrangements. It has been several days since then and neither my property manager nor I have received a response from him. This has been the most expensive, stressful, physically taxing, and disappointing interaction I have ever had with a business in Austin. Please do yourself a favor and take your business anywhere else but here. Just to add, after I posted a similar review on Facebook today I got this voicemail from Mr Sturrock

The owner, Jason, is co-running a scam with this woman named Kim. The 2 of them sadly screw elderly and people with a lot of money, out of their money. He does some really sleezy stuff. To be fair, I am surprised he pays enough of his employees to keep them working. I am a mover, and I work for several companies around Austin. Unfortunately, you guys need to avoid doing business with this company. As for you Jason, you are free to come to my place any time to make good on that threat to kick my *** over me literally trying to reach one of your employees... your only good employee. I will be here waiting if you feel the need. These reviews are FAKE! IF you scroll down a bit you see the owner, Jason Sturrock, has a wife named Cindy post a fake review under HER NAME! The guy is an ***hole who treats his employees worse than garbage. Stop feeding this terrible person money. He begs me to do work for him and I refuse. Thank you!

Jason is running a good and honest business, and I respect and appreciate that greatly! I found him very easy to work. The team is very thorough in how they wrap furniture, and other pieces, which is great for protecting everything! Overall this was a good experience - a few hiccups, just as with any move. The time estimate provided was quite a bit less than actual time it took. I also had one box of plates, that were wrapped in paper and surrounded by bath towels and marked fragile, get completely broken - all of them. Unfortunately I was informed that the since the company did not pack it, there was no liability. The law is the law, but I find this one a little frustrating. **UPDATE: Hats off to Jason for going above and beyond what is required by law, and covering the cost of the plates. Its encouraging to see good and honorable business out in the world!

I have used Jason and his team of movers several times for Austinhomes. com and referred Piece by Peace Moving to our luxury clientele. We had been using another local moving co. We had mixed results and concerns from some of our clients. Jason was referred to us by another well respected luxury realtor. Never have we had a vender get such great reviews! All of our clients have expressed the comfort they have because the owner estimates the job and is always present and managing the move onsite. We also are amazed in the quality of everyone on his team! Great job guys keep it up!

Cant say enough about the quality of work and the guys are absolute gentleman. The guys showed up early to the job. The owner Jason came out to my house to give me an on sight estimate. Not one mover I called would come out to see my stuff. He sent me an estimate by email within hours. Jasons estimate was exactly what he said would be! Piece by Peace Moving Is definitely the only mover to call. Ive used several Local Austin Moving Co. This by far was the best moving experience. Jason and his team definitely made our move a peaceful transition!

Their prices are perfect as well as I was quoted way higher and had dealt with much less professionalism.
