I knew what the problem was as it had happened before and even advised Gary of this along with giving him the printouts from Pep Boys but apparently he didnt listen. I advised him I was trading in my vehicle so I wanted it to be fixed as inexpensively as possible. Nobody ever called me to give me updates I was constantly having to call up there. Friday my vehicle wasnt ready as promised and Gary stated they couldnt find out what was wrong with it and he would have to do some research over the weekend. Im pretty sure they never even touched it because Monday when I called I was still getting the run around, they were still running diagnostic testing, etc. It was nearing the end of day Monday and it wasnt fixed. Then Gary calls telling me they figured out the problem and he was having someone run to Plano to pick up the part and it would be ready for me. I was about to head over and then no surprise he calls, he only ever called to give me bad news. They were wrong and that wasnt the problem so it wouldnt be until the next day until it would be ready. Gary yelled at me when I asked him if he checked the coils, I had a problem previously and was doing the same thing. I was at his mercy so I just asked him to please get to it first thing in the morning. Next day I call and hes with a customer but will call me back. He never does so I call again and he tells me its 2 coils and quotes me a price doubled what Pep Boys charged me 2 months prior. Later that afternoon he calls me back and says its misfiring, the coils arent connecting and it will be morning until they can find out how much a new computer will cost. Are you freaking kidding me??!! I reiterated that I was not paying another penny and that I was trading it in so as long as it made it to the dealership it was fine the way it was. He kept trying to scare me saying its going to drive rough. I told him I didnt care, put it back together and Id be there to pick it up. Magically when I arrived he told me it was just a bad connection with the coils and it was running perfectly. Seriously you dont check the connection before you try to make the customer buy a new computer? It was quite apparent that he was trying to take advantage of me because I was a woman to see how much he could get out of me. I could have taken it to the dealership and paid less but I was trying to give a job to the little guy in the neighborhood and not sure I will ever do that again because of my experience with Gary Miars!! The manager and other employees there were friendly its a shame that the owner was so very rude and unprofessional. Shame on him!

The company I work for uses Gary and his guys for all our mechanical needs. Recently, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of using him for one of our personal vehicles. It was reasonably quick, prices were fair, Tony (ASE Certified Mechanic on staff) walked us through the process needed. After all was said and done, it was a good deal. Especially when you call around asking for pricing on Labor and parts (we researched our options, including the dealership... WHO WAS EXPENSIVE!). After all was said and done, even with the WRONG DIAGNOSTIC PRINTOUT FROM AUTOZONE (Auto Part stores should not be using diagnostic equipment, it can be misleading and force you to buy needless parts, or sound like an idiot when you go into the shop) Gary and Tony saved us several HUNDRED DOLLARS!!! Honest and Reliable!!! Especially since the dealership gave us one option worth almost $700!? Sounded like a screwing to me... Miars Automotive gave us options for the same issue(s), saved us money and still fixed the issue! Look, you can get a shade tree, non-certified mechanic... take a chance and save money, do it yourself... again taking a chance or just get it done right by ASE Certified Mechanics ho know their craft, have the tools and equipment to get it done right... Or you can just sell your car and walk... We are not walking to work in Texas Heat... LOL!

Where do I start everything was as far as my estimate was very overpriced they wanted to charge me $800 for used parts the cost of labor was too much they charge me $105 for Diagnostics when anywhere else is free or $50 they locked my keys in my car which I had to pay an additional $85 to get out very unprofessional never responded back to my emails I would never recommend this place for anybody horrible customer service and then got upset with me because my dad told him that they were overcharged do the same problems that they said was wrong with my car someone with 15 years experience fixing cars was able to do for $700 cheaper look around before going here and they gave me my car back in worse shape than when I gave it to him and that is completely not drivable I end up having to pay to have it towed

He is the best mechanic and honest guy, I have never seen before, I really recommend this guy because they are not trying overcharge you even if you are an international person. Also, if you are a student at UTD, he can discount you, I got %10 discount. In addition, I deal with SAMs towing service to get my car from UTD to Gary Miars Automotive, and Sams towing charged me $65, but I did not have cash, thats why he told me that I can get money from Gary, when I got my receipt from Gary, I was shocked because Sams towing got $95 from Gary, and I told Gary about my towing price, and I showed messages to Gary between Sams towing and me, so Gary gave me $30 back. Thanks Gary

We bought 4 brand new tires here, they were installed incorrectly ALL 4 went flat, the first one on way home, the other ones the next day! We ended up with damage to rim and shredded back tire , couldnt pull off road in time on way home!!!! Discount tire fixed 3 of them for free. Now had to buy new rim and tire! Not going back again. How does this happen!!!

I had a great experience at Gary Miars with my little B2300 Mazda truck. They were very informative about what was wrong/possibly wrong and walked me through my options for the best outcome. These guys are very honest and really want to help you get back on the road. I highly recommend these guys if youre looking for good mechanics.

At the end of the day you want to trust your mechanic. I trust this place. I love a mechanic who will "talk you out of work" that can wait another 10k-15k miles. Have an expectation that your car wont be ready the day you take it in and youll have a great experience. Its the only place I take my cars.
