Just a note to say thanks for the service you have provided me over the years. My first encounter with your business concerned the air conditioning on my now long gone 1985 Cutlass Supreme. I had gone to another service location first (in my defense, it was before I knew about your business) to have the a/c tended to. I won’t name names, but its initials are that G**dy**r place on Custer just north of Parker Rd. They diagnosed it as a bad compressor and wanted approximately $600 to replace it. Due to the cost, I decided to get a second opinion. I started looking through the telephone book for another repair place and came across your business. I brought the Cutlass in; your mechanic took a look and diagnosed the problem as a bad hose. The hose was replaced and the cost was less than $80. That was a big, big difference in the cost to repair. The honesty of your mechanic sold me right there. Another example, as recently as two weeks ago, I brought my son’s Nissan Maxima in for a “weird” noise coming out of the right rear wheel area. With 53,000 miles on the vehicle, I figured the brakes were about due for a change. Your mechanic took a look and determined a piece of metal was hanging down rubbing against the tire. He tightened it and the “weird” noise went away. I fully expected to pay for your time, but there was no charge. Your mechanic also said it looked like the brakes had about half their useful life remaining. You just can’t get service like that anywhere else. “Take it to Tidwell’s” are the first words out of my mouth whenever someone is looking for a great repair shop that goes far beyond what the so called “competition” is delivering. Now my only complaint is you’re not open on Saturdays, because my vehicles never seem to check to the calendar for the day of the week when they start having issues. But, if there is a problem on a Saturday, I will wait until Monday to take it in. I would not trust taking it anywhere else. With the free oil changes on Mondays, the Pink Card Discount for labor, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, all in all, Tidwell’s is a great place to do business with. Best of luck to you Troy and your staff. Feel free to use my name and telephone number should anyone like to give me a call about my experiences with your shop and your staff.

Troy s crew at Tidwell Auto has taken care of all of the vehicles that I have owned for the last 15 years, from full engine rebuilds to routine monthly oil changes. I put 100 miles per day on my vehicle and get the oil changed every month. We sent two kids off to college, one to Texas Tech and one to TWU in Denton and all of the work needed to keep their cars running safely and dependably was performed at Tidwell Auto. I drove a 1995 Chevy Tahoe for 12 years and put 367,000 miles on it. I never had an engine or transmission problem with Troy s folks doing all of the maintenance. They did the brakes three or four times. They rebuilt the front end twice and replaced the air conditioner. When I look back on the years of dependable transportation from that truck, the cost of vehicle ownership was less than ten cents per mile. Their work has always been done quickly and correctly, at a fair price. My son worked for several years in Plano. One day he was on his dinner break a little after 5:00pm. He headed back to work down Parker Road while they were doing some road construction. A rock flew up and hit his clutch master cylinder. He was stranded, stuck in the middle of Parker road during rush hour. He called me at DFW airport. All I could think to do was to call Troy and ask if he could help. He and his men dropped what they were doing to go help my son. They pushed his truck onto a residential street and made arrangements to have a tow truck pick up his truck and get it to their shop. Please keep in mind that by this time it is well after they would have normally closed for business. I hope that this story says something to you about the customer service at Tidwell Automotive. It is kind of hard for me to write about and not think back on what a different kind of ending this event could have had without Troy and his crew. That 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was returned to my son, running perfectly the next day before noon. My daughter s 1995 Toyota 4 Runner had the engine rebuilt three years ago by Troy s team and has run perfectly. It already has over 24,000 miles on the rebuilt engine.

I just wanted to Thank You and your Mechanics for helping my son. He has an old ford pickup that he is trying to keep going so he can keep his job. He had been trying to get his truck inspected, insured and tagged since July 2009. He got 2 tickets for no inspection, no insurance. Well, if you cannot get the first item, inspection you cannot get insurance and without insurance no new tags. He had been to several other shops but could not afford the $80-$125.00 diagnostic test which did not go towards the repair of the truck. He did find out what the possible problem was for the engine light coming on. He bought the part and put it on, but the engine light kept coming on. He had not been given all of the information about replacing the part. He was told that the part was bad several times. I referred him to your shop because we had used your shop before. Your team tested to make sure the part was keeping the engine light on then advised him to take the bad part back and to use your supplier OReillys because they had never gotten a bad part from them. He tried the part then came back because the engine light still came on. He talked to your guys and was told that the seal or gasket has to also be replaced because of leakage which was causing the engine light to stay on even after replacing the part. He had your mechanics replace the part and seal. They told him to drive the truck about 50 miles before going to have it inspected. The light has stayed off. He got his inspection, insurance and tags. He still has his job! He is paying off his tickets. Because of your professionalism and concern for people this man was able to save his job. I sincerely thank you and your team.
