I asked for full highlights. My color is literally one color and with blonde and brown patches, and black roots! You go to a salon to get ur roots fixed! Wtf?! I always get blonde hair, & in ONE process. I had a trip to go to soon and my original hairstylist was booked so I tried the groove. I originally wanted Mallory (very good reviews and her before&after pics were awesome) but she was booked, obviously. The only one available was jasmine (now I know why it was so fast to book with her) When it was time for my appointment, i showed her a pic of what I wanted. She said she couldnt go that light (which was upsetting because I always go blonde in one process WITHOUT frying up my hair) so I said ok anyways because I needed something done today. When i left the salon, it was nothing what i asked for, but it was at least one color and better than what i came in with. But on the drive home i kept noticing other things. I paid $150 for full highlights and she left my hair one color! Orange brown! And some random streaks of yellow! I hate!! Especially because my roots are still black! I called 20 some times, no one ever answered. After so many calls they actually picked up. I talked to jasmine and she said she can give me a refund. I said I rather have it fixed than to get my money back because she waisted time and product on me. She responded with: "yeahh. I just dont feel comfortable trying again cause it wont be what you want. But come at 630 and well talk about what we can do maybe add more highlights, if I cant Ill give u a refund." I said ok. After thinking about it I rather just get my refund, especially since she said she "wasnt comfortable" and obviously didnt know how to bleach hair.. I went for my money and told her I wasnt comfortable to let her try again. And I showed her the pics I took from different angles of my hair. I told her it was not even close to blonde. I came in with blonde at the bottom of my hair (not orange or faded blonde) and a big dark hair growth. Came out looking patchy and orange. I was already thinking of letting her keep $50. But she kept saying that my hair is blonde! It does have highlights. And kept saying she did a good job. Yes you did an ok job if i had come in and asked u to change my hair to Orange which I did not! She told me i should just "go to my hairstylist instead since it seams you have a good relationship with her," no girl I do not have a good relationship with her, were not bffs, but SHE knows how to bleach hair. She said "i just dont want you to write a bad review" i told her i thought about doing that but since Im getting some of my money back im not.She kept saying I was wrong and then asked to keep $50, i told her she can keep $40, and I said I could have done this at home. Thats when she rudely got the money and said "here! Just take your money!" I left and when I got to the car, I counted only $100, wasnt guna go back in for $10. So decided to write the bad review that she was so worried about. This happened on. Thursday 3/16, and its now Friday 3/17. Im not changing her words or adding to the story. It just happened and want ppl to know before you go for highlights that most hairstylist CAN DO!

I got a cute pixie haircut from Jasmine back in September or October and when it started growing back I tried to set up another appointment. I called one day and I left a voicemail. Someone tried to call me back however I work full time and she left a voicemail as well. This was fine as this happens. However when I called back, nobody picked up and it kept ringing without the option to leave a voicemail. I called twice that day. I called one more time the next day and the same thing happened. I remembered that Jasmine gave me her personal business card so I decided to call her on her phone number listed on the card. I left a voice message and she never called me back. I called a couple more times but it only rang with no option for voicemail. Since I had extremely short hair and needed a cut badly, I went someplace else. My boyfriend and his brother tried contacting this salon as well because that is where they usually got their haircuts, especially with Jasmine, but both said the same thing happened to them. The phone kept ringing and left no option to leave a voicemail. And they both called multiple times. They both also eventually gave up and went someplace else. It is quite unfortunate because I liked my hair, but if nobody bothers to even try to pick up the phone, then I cant change that I decided to go someplace else. I honestly couldve been a regular customer.

I never leave comments but Jasmine was more than awesome and deserves a great review! I went in with a ton of pictures in hand and a drastic length change in mind for my hair. Jasmine was so friendly from the moment I walked in and also just a genuinely cool chick. After hearing my "vision" of what I was thinking she gave me her honest opinion on what she thought would work best for me. She took her time on my cut and color and really made me feel like perfecting my hair and making me feel/look great was her number one goal. She continually asked for my honest feedback and ended up making my hair look even better than I had imagined. I got my hair cut two days ago and I have gotten so many compliments on the cut and color already its amazing. I will definitely be returning for my next cut and have been recommending that all my friends do too!

Got my hair cut back in May (first time at Groove) before my daughter was born. I really wanted to find somewhere I could start bring loyal to, and they had great reviews. Jasmine did my hair, and I told her I needed something easy to maintain that I could let air dry - you know, something simple for a brand new mom who would have zero time for hair styling. Ive had a lot of layered cuts since I was in junior high, but this was by far the best layered cut I had ever received! She did exactly what I needed! Im way overdue for a snip, so Im looking forward to making another appointment. Long hair with an infant just isnt ideal (lots of grabbing)! Other details - the atmosphere is fun and spunky, and pricing is definitely in line with the quality of work. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new salon.

Mary does a great job and is always very thorough. I was new to Dallas and went through a few hairstylist up here until I found her. The location is nice and atmosphere relaxed. The other stylist and assistants are always cool as well. FYI, Mary is also a legendary singer as she will sing any 80s hair-metal.....(especially Winger) song if you request it as she does your hair. It is pretty awesome to have your scalp shampooed and massaged while hearing "Madalaine", "Seventeen", "Headed for a Heartbreak" or "Hungry". It is a thing not to be missed. She really does do a great job on your hair, always has a wait so she is in demand. Works tirelessly to get it done right and Ive always been satisfied.
