I have been taking my car to Love Field Auto for years now. They are honest, good people who do great work with a caveat. It is my opinion that they are so good that they have become a victim of their own success. They are BUSY and I think this may sometimes be causing things to fall between the cracks. If you have something that is fairly straight forward that is an easy same day in and out, I highly recommend this place! If you have something a bit more time consuming or difficult, you may want to take it somewhere else. I do admit I have an older Jeep. They have done fantastic work on it in the past, but the past several times there have been problems when I picked up my Jeep. Yes, it could be coincidences. This most recent time, they had my Jeep for one full day and another half day to check codes for the ABS acting strange and engaging when it shouldnt, only to tell me after a day and a half that they dont have a machine to read the codes for my vehicle so I should take it somewhere else ... I had a rental car, so I would have expected them to try to read the codes the first day and let me know if they didnt have a machine to read the codes then. To their credit, they didnt charge me anything. But, they did cost me 2 days of rental car charges. I googled, and many things can cause this problem, one of them being a bad wheel speed sensor. Sure enough, the next place I took it to had to replace a bad wheel speed sensor - quick, easy, inexpensive repair. I am very happy that they didnt just throw parts in it hoping it would fix it. Some places will do that. I appreciate very much how they were honest about it and advised I take it to the Jeep Dealership Service Department. So they are a 5 star review on easy or common in and out things, but a 1 to 2 star review for more complicated problems. Update: Thank you for your reply Randy. Kevin at your shop said you didnt have the proper machine to read those codes which I understand as it may not be cost effective. I took it to the Dealer, and their machine read the specific code for the wheel speed sensor which is a quick and easy thing to fix. I appreciate your sending me there. I understand completely. Im just sorry the time in your shop cost me two days of a rental car while I waited for the answer that you werent sure what was wrong with it. I do appreciate that you didnt throw parts at it, and I have always praised your work and integrity to others and will continue to do so.

My first repair with Love Field was great. They fixed a nagging problem very inexpensively. I was so happy. The second trip - not so good. My car was running really poorly, wouldnt accelerate, misfiring, jerky - not good. Took it to Love Field. Randy called, they found oil in the spark plugs, plugs are fouled, needs new head gaskets. Well, okay. I approve. But a few hours later, Im kinding kicking myself for not changing them first as it has been 100k miles without changing them. Then I realize, wait, Ive never added a single drop of oil to my car. Second, its been 100k miles since I changed the plugs. I feel like Randy should have asked me some simple questions like that because of course the plugs look terrible - they are really old! Oh well, Ive authorized the $250ish repair and maybe it will fix the problem. I pick up the van and it takes about 10 miles of driving to realize its running just as bad as when I took it in. How in the world didnt they notice that if they drove it. Anyway, I decide to take it to a different garage the second time. The other garage asked me all sorts of questions. When they called to tell me they had isolated the problem, they told me what they had done to trace it down. All the things they had eliminated before concluding they had found the problem. What the problem was and exactly why it could be causing the problems. And what it would take to fix. Oh, and unrelated but problematic - they need to replace the head gasket because its leaking badly. I authorize everything except the head gasket because I just had Love field do that a week ago. Pick up my car (which indeed, they had found and fixed the problem. Its a complicated explanation but it was a massive timing issue from the timing belt having jumped around...) I took it back to Randy Monday this week. Its Friday at 12:30 and I still dont have my car back. Bottom line, I love Randy, I think his honesty and reasonable prices are great. But I wont take my car back for repairs. Every garage has its good days and bad days. Im sure mine was just a bad day.

This is an excellent place!! Im a public school teacher and am not made of money. Ive got 2 older cars (1990, 1991; they kid me about getting some newer cars built at least in this century, so they have a sense of humor as well) and have been to several garages over the years when a friend in a local car club told me about this place. Many of the members use this garage. I brought my truck in because of the brake reservoir being was low. They looked it over and said nothing was wrong. They said the pulled the master cylinder and checked and did a visual inspection of the brake lines. Brake fluid over time can apparently exit the system, which is why they, as well as the manual, suggest I check it occasionally (oops). The charged me NOTHING. I told them Id be glad to pay the labor fee of checking it out but told me to just come back when I had other problems and not to worry about it. So upon picking up the truck, I left my old Honda to have major maintenance work done (timing belt, water pump, belts, radiator flush, brake pads). They did extremely quick turn around within 2 days. My father had his radiator replaced, back the next day. My uncle had his truck in, they rebuilt the front end and had it back within 2 days. Yesterday, I had the smell of gas in my car and brought it in near closing time. I also needed an oil change. By 10:30 this morning, they called and said they checked for the gas leak but found that when I filled it up the day before, some gas splashed out on the body panel and got in between the body and fender. They only charged me for the oil change, $33. If youve been looking for an honest garage that does fast, great work, youve FOUND IT!! I will not hesitate to tell everyone I can about it. And I dont EVER post reviews!!

I cannot believe that I found a fantastic, HONEST auto mechanic two weeks before I was moving from Dallas. Randy not only makes you feel like you are in good hands, but backs it up with his actions. Based on the stellar reviews, I went to Love Field Auto to get an oil change and have my brakes checked before I made a long trek. My back brake pads are down to the low teens. Randy told me that I had about 10K left on them. Since I was moving to Denver, I was concerned about driving on them. He said he would be happy to change them, but if it were his car, he wouldnt change them. Ummm...what??? I am willing to change them, and youre telling me it is not the best decision with my money. I seriously almost wish that I would have had them changed because I dont know if I will find a mechanic like Randy in Denver. I think that they are few and far between. I own a VW. Anyone who has had the "pleasure" of owning a VW, knows electrical problems come with having an adorable car. Just to add to the stress of the move, my VW decides to have some weird electrical issue. It happened three days in a row. I took it in and Randy kept the car overnight trying to diagnose and recreate the issue because it was only happening in the morning. Anyway, long story short, he couldnt find anything wrong (and by the way, the issue has stopped, damn VWs). Randy did not charge a thing. When I asked him why, he said that he couldnt charge me for not fixing something. Hey how about the time you spent trying to figure out what the heck was happening with my car. Awesome customer service and integrity. Take your business to Randy at Love Field Auto. You will know your are in good hands.
