When you call in, the sales rep (Justin or Jason) would ask, "How can we earn your business?"; that is a great question since you guys are really good at turning down business. I came for a simple synthetic oil change for my Toyota Highlander, sales rep comes barging in shortly after stating "You need a new battery." Thats interesting, considering that I came in looking for an oil change and not a battery. I had not had an issue with the battery before and if I did, I could change it out myself. He said he had to jump start the car, so tested it out myself and it started up immediately with no hesitation, I told them that I would look at it at home, sales rep says nope, battery needs to be changed out now! Little does Justin/Jason know, I have a multimeter and the battery it is working fine. He told me he could not do the oil change because of the battery issue. I did not want to purchase their new battery because it started up fine (if I was to purchase one, it would not be from Sears). Shortly after, I heard him talking to the mechanic how he could not up sell the battery. Wow. Thank you for wasting all of our time. This is going to be my very last time I bring my cars here. Probably good for him since he will have less work to do.

I went in trying to figure out a vibration problem in my truck (which turns out is related to the rims). After their "tests" they recommend an alignment and rotate/balance. Even though I had had them balanced 3 days previously they said they were out of balance. They also said part of my vibration problem was that my rotors were warped and my (2 week old) brake pads were worn bad and couldnt be used. My rotors (which I checked later) were perfectly fine as were my brake pads. They were just trying to perform services that werent needed to get money. I went ahead with the alignment in which the customer service person said I could do it for $89 one time or $189 for lifetime. I went with lifetime and when I went to pay he said it was $289. I said "You told me it was $189" to which he replied "oh its $189 just for the alignment and with the balance its $289" So they basically lied to me about the cost then performed something I didnt need so I had to pay. Ill never return there. They are dishonest and if someone doesnt know anything about vehicles they will take all your money for services you dont really need.

This is by far the worst service I have ever received. The staff, especially the lady of African-American descent was extremely rude. We bought a battery from them and was told that there was a 30 day return policy. We ended up trading the car that we had bought the battery for, so we brought it back. The first few employees we talked to seemed to be unsure about their managers whereabouts. They said they didnt know his timetable and he came and went as he pleased. The next day, we went again, in hopes that we would run into this mysterious manager. Once again he wasnt there, then we were harassed by the African-American female employee. She told us that she could not look up our receipt and that there was no proof of payment. We had a bank statement and she still continued to be sassy. So now we have a battery which cannot be returned and is just sitting in the garage because of the lack of proper management and training that Sears provides their employees. Please take your business elsewhere.

This Sears Automotive at the Memorial City Mall location on Gessner and I-10 is the best car repair and servicing place my husband and I have found in town. Weve been to the dealer and Firestone, and now we will only go to this Sears Automotive location at Memorial City Mall. Everyone who works there has been working there for a long time. They even have female managers, which I like too, because it shows that this location is all about diversity. Juan is great. If you need any help with your car just ask to speak to Juan. He will take real good care of you. The mechanics have over 20 years experience, too. I love this place to do oil changes, belts, batteries, and alternator repairs. They are friendly, fair-priced, and quick in getting your vehicle serviced. We wont take our cars anywhere else in town, but to this Sears Automotive location.

I went in twice and both times have had a pleasant experience, and they dont seem to try and screw you as much as other places. I went to a place called Drivers Edge in Leander, TX and after paying $1,500, it was still making a noise. So we brought it into Sears and they took out the tire rod (my mother brought it in to Drivers edge and Sears the first time). They did a decent job on that but it was still making a noise. So I brought it in myself and they tightened the sway bar (apparently they forgot to do that at Drivers Edge) and fixed another noise for $20. The guy was nice and helpful however it does seem that they will try and take advantage of a female who doesnt know much. The other time I came was to get a new pair of tires, the gentleman was very nice and make a recommendation that was best for the car, not their own pockets!!!

Tried to buy a battery from store 6577, employee charlie, suggested that I then could not put a battery in my 2011 camaro, he stated that I needed a battery with 1000 cca, "for all the moving parts and engines" in my camaro. When I questioned him, he said he didnt have battery, even though he didnt look it up. I looked up battery it only needs 770 cca., its vented, and top post. I could have put several different batteries in, he said I needed to go to dealer to get battery. Then I asked to purchase battery to put in myself, and he wouldnt sell me a battery. Sears is not a good store anymore, they used to have knowledgeable mechanics, its so sad that a company that my family has used for generations has come to this. Very dissapointing!!!! Ended up getting battery at wal mart and putting it in myself, no issues.

My wife waited for over a half hour with our young child before any of the staff would even acknowledge her. They then said it would take at least two and a half hours to rotate and balance the tires. When I went in over a year ago to buy the tires initially it took most of the morning to get the tires. Make sure you have most of a day to waste here if youre planning to visit. Beware of their specials and pricing as well. I went here for the initial purchase of the tires because after doing quite a bit of comparison shopping it looked like I was going to save well over one hundred dollars on the model of tire I wanted, however after all of the waiting was done and the hidden fees and such were added in I ended up not really saving much money and wasting a whole lot of time.

I went in to this Sears Automotive Department to get my tire fixed, which turned out to be a screw. They were the only nearby place open on a Sunday so I made an appointment with them. Mistake. They only had ONE guy working in the garage so it took 2 hours to tell me that they couldnt repair the tire, but that they could replace it with a similar tire the next day for $175. I said no thanks, just had them top it with air, and I took it to Discount Tire the next day. Not only did Discount Tire repair it, they sold me a warranty that covered the repair plus any future damage to all my tires. Sears Auto has become a scam!!!!! If I had taken them at their word, I would have replaced a tire that didnt need replacing.
