My family has used All My Sons for many moves over the years here in Austin with no trouble, but after this weekend we will never use them again. I am moving to Chicago, and I decided to get a shipping pod since my moving timeline was complicated. When I called All My Sons to see if they could pack and unpack my pod, I was pleased to find out that they could accommodate me and coordinate with the Chicago office as well. We scheduled the Austin load for Sunday (10/18). I received a phone call and follow up email from Michael for the Chicago unload, then a few days later (10/8) Don called me regarding my Austin load. His voice mail assured me that someone would call to confirm my move a couple days before the 18th. I never received another phone call from them. On Sunday I was at my house at 8:30 AM because Dons message stated that someone would be there between 8-10 AM, and no one ever showed up. We had to wait until 11 AM when the office opened to call and find out what happened. Kyle answered the phone, and helped us in every way he could, he did some research into my account and had Don call to follow up. When Don finally called me, he said that someone tried to call me on Friday and since no one could reach me, they cancelled my move. This is absolutely outrageous because I spent almost all of Friday packing, I had my phone practically attached to my hip. I had no missed calls or voice mails from Don or anyone else with the company. I was forced to reschedule for Monday (10/19) because they didnt have anyone available. Don assured me that his team would be at my home between 12-2 PM. I was so frustrated I called Kyle back to let him know what Don had told me, and he said that my move had not been cancelled. So not only did Don fail to take care of me, but he lied to me and blamed me for his mistake. I was not pleased, but I couldnt change movers because I had a tight window with my shipping pod so I was stuck with them. I made arrangements to leave work early today (10/19) so I could meet them at 12, but low and behold this comedy of errors was not finished. I received a call at 9:15 AM from the crew telling me that they were at my house to pack up my pod. When I told him that I was scheduled for 12-2 PM, he had no idea what I was talking about. Luckily my mom was able to drive over and let them in otherwise I would have been forced to reschedule the move AGAIN because All My Sons cannot seem to show up when they say they are going to. To top everything off, I was overcharged because I was quoted a rate of $119 but charged $139. I was able to call and get this corrected, but I was just done with them. Hopefully, the second leg of this life changing event will go smoother in Chicago. Final thought: Im disappointed in All My Sons, I have used them so many times in the past with absolutely no trouble. They were my first call when I need to schedule this move, and Im frustrated that they made an already stressful move even more difficult for me. I can and will no longer endorse them to my friends and/or family.

My experience with all my sons was terrible..my "point of contact" Tony was awful, he told us he got special permission for a crew to work past normal hours which was great.. however on the day of I get a call from the mover and he wants to push it up. The problem was I could not receive my keys for my new apartment until 5 oclock. I asked if he knew it was a later move and he told me their was nothing noted (first bad sign) next I get a call from Tony around 5 an hour and a half after I was told they would be there. Tony told me it would be at least 6:30 before the crew could make it . I said fine as long as they can get it done today or else I would be charged by the apartment complex for another day. I then receive a phone call from the mover saying he was "all the way out in the hills, and it would be a little bit before he can get to me . Is there anyway we can do this first thing in the morning "? I told him no unless you can pay for the night here . "na we wont do that" I said okay then Ill see you here in a bit . "Na Im not coming, I got other stuff to do". Hangs up.. I called back and told him Tony needs to call me he said fine . 20 minutes went by without a call so I called the mover and told him Tony needs to call me now. I then received a phone call from Tony saying, his mover called him and told him I called him swearing and that I was hostile . Tony had no intention of coming to a resolution. All he needed to hear was a lie from his employee . He then told me we will mail you a refunded deposit goodbye . My girlfriend then called because I was too upset at this point . She explained the situation again to Tony. All he had to say was he was hearing two different stories and one is a lie and one is the truth, and seeing how he did nothing to help us he was calling us liars. After the phone call my girlfriend was hysterically crying because no one has ever treated her with such disrespect. By the time all of this was done it was 7:30 pm and we had to drop off the keys before the next morning. I luckily have a few good friends who helped with a truck and we did not finish moving until 5am and I had to be at work by 8am . I will be going in Monday morning to file a complaint with the owner. If this is the people he backs then this company wont make it.

I wish I had seen the other reviews on this site before hiring All My Sons. When I spoke to someone over the phone, they were very friendly and quoted me a fairly decent price. I said I had to move from a two-bedroom apartment to another one across town. The representative said that job was no problem, theyd be done in 2-3 hours at the most, and at the hourly rate he quoted it sounded like the worst case cost was perhaps a bit over $400. We boxed up everything ourselves before moving day, and figured we had done as much as we could. The movers arrived -- and I want to stress that they were very professional and friendly, and I dont blame them. But they were quite clearly overworked and exhausted, and there werent enough of them. There were two guys, one of whom seemed to be in training, and theyd apparently been working late the night before. As time elapsed I got very uneasy about their progress; over two hours went by before the first half of the move was done. But they acted like everything was fine and I was reassured. At the end of the day it had taken nearly SIX HOURS for the move, when the phone salesman said it might take just two. The bill came to over $900. I was floored. The mover offered to let me talk to his manager and see if he would bring it down. I did; the manager shrugged it off, asked if I had an unusual amount of stuff (I didnt), and said that was the price. I saw several replies to other bad reviews saying theyre sorry for the experience, and they should call the customer care number, so I did just now. They were equally unhelpful, saying I should call the area manager, whom Id already talked to. So that response is not useful at all; they are just trying to make it appear as if they will help customers, but they wont do anything. Moving is exhausting, and it added insult to injury that I ended the day feeling cheated and taken advantage of. If you must hire All My Sons, try asking for a contract guaranteeing a maximum charge. If you cant, please find another company.
