I found Just Brakes #800 via Google. As probably most people have encountered over the years it’s difficult at best to find a mechanic one can trust. With "Just Breaks #800" on Grissom Rd, I was, putting it mildly, simply amazed at the extreme honesty in dealing with me. This honesty, I also observed, while waiting for my car to be fixed, in how they dealt with other customers. My first encounter was to enter into a diagnostic phase of the problems I had. Of and on for about 45 minutes or so, the mechanic, and assistant manager (he’s a mechanic too) were asking me additional questions and so on. Then the main mechanic working on my problems asked to show me what he’s found. I have to admit that this is a HUGE first for me. Usually, mechanics either don’t talk to the customer or evasive at best; not so, with him. He showed me what the causes were of my brake leak, the rotors (front and rear), and he discussed why it’s important that if you fix one thing, and have the same part on the opposite side, like a caliper, how important it is to replace both, he explained all this in plain English. It was very obvious (I’m a backyard mechanic a bit rusty at this time) that he knows his profession very well. I can’t say enough about him; Canton is his name! Then there is the front office staff, I had interactions with the Manager and the assistant manager (Kim) and never, ever did they try to ‘sell’ me as Ive often experienced in the past at other service locations. They totally focused on the reasons I went there. After Canton was done with his diagnostics, Kim explained to me the various options, always keeping in mind my personal budget constraints (which I had already shared with him). This aspect of my experience was astonishing, and would have been enough to satisfy me to the point that I would return again, but as with Canton I was already convinced I would be coming back in the future. I really appreciated the focus on my immediate problems (mechanical and budgetary). They were also very personable. What I didnt know, before going there, is that they offer “Same Day Service”. After Canton had given me the "walk-around", I half expected that it would be days before it would get all done; with ordering parts and whatnot. This was not the case, as I was out of there in at a time I unexpectedly anticipated. Then it came time to pay up, this is the part I always dread. I have to say, again, the honesty of the billing was no less than awesome! I could go on and on. I will return, and thank you all at Just Brakes #800!

Went in last Sunday when they were having their "labor day brake special" since my husband has a truck and we really didnt want to do it ourselves on a Sunday and was informed that it would cost us $1200. We were told that we needed front brakes(which we obviously knew), new rotors, that the ones we had on the front needed to be replaced because they could not be shaved, and that our MC was leaking into the vacuum booster. He then shows my husband a string that he had supposedly dipped in the vacuum booster that had dark fluid half way up it and said that it was the brake fluid leaking inside the vacuum booster. We told the individual that we came in for a simple brake job and we were unable to make such a purchase. He then tells us that we should at least get the brakes done at a quote of $450. He also states that this issue is not something that we should wait on, basically made it sound like my husbands life was at risk in this vehicle. I told him that I had already priced brakes and rotors and it would b cheaper for us to do it our self. He then tells me that if I went and bought the parts myself he would do the job for $250. We left and did our research on his truck and found out that what we were told was just completely misleading. We cleaned out the vacuum booster just to see if there was an actual leak that same day, had the rotors checked by another machanic at which the rotors did not need to be replaced, and replaced our front brakes for $100. Since then we have yet to find another drop of brake fluid in the booster. This place is #1 on my list of places to never go to again. Thanks Just Brakes!

I would like to say that it is rare in this day and age where you can find quick, honest, hard working people in the car maintenance business that will explain in detail what needs to be done and why and which things are necessary without forcing anything on you to buy. I took my daughters car in to have it looked at and withing the hour called me back letting me know that it would be a few hundred dollars but after that he followed up and said that I should check my warranty and see if it was still covered. I wasnt even thinking about the warranty so I called and sure enough its covered through my warranty so I proceeded to thank John who I believe who is a manager as well and said he just saved me from spending money I really didnt have at this time. So I ask what do I owe and he said nothing and that because it was Sunday he pretty much knew the dealership wouldnt be open so he offered to let the car stay overnight in his bay free of charge until a tow truck can be sent to retrieve my vehicle. He didnt want my daughter to drive an unsafe vehicle, that my friends is worth a review and 10 stars if it were to let me rate that high. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family. Thanks again John, I will be bringing my vehicles to you from now on.

I got in and out relatively quickly, and the guys working there were plenty courteous, and showed me on my vehicle the various disrepair on my truck that they had given me a quote for. However, the quoted prices were absolutely ridiculous. They wanted to replace all four calipers and rotors, with "free" pads for a price of well over a grand and a half. Upon some quick price checking online, I found that on average, I could get and entire set of 4 new PERFORMANCE rotors AND pads for what they were charging for A SINGLE ROTOR. Then to top it all off, when I got home to plug a leak in my tire, I found that they had torqued my lug-nuts WELL above necessary and even jumping up and down on the lug wrench wouldnt even budge it, and Im a big guy. Whether they did this on purpose or not I cant say, but now I have to go to a tire shop just to remove my tires for maintenance. So no, I would not, nor ever will recommend "Just Scams" to anyone.

We went there with a coupon I believe. It was a while ago, I am surprised to be getting an invitation to review this establishment, but hopefully I can save someone the time and their hard earned $$!! Their customer service was bad. We were treated poorly while we waited. And the end result was a crappy job. I know as a woman we get snowed at repair shops etc, even knowing a little bit about cars I was seriously dissappointed when you have to ask to have the brake lines bled, and its an extra charge. I was pretty sure that was a standard practice during any brake job! But any opportunity to soak you for an extra buck and then make you feel like an A$$ when you decline extras on the job-when it is usually a common practice-but I guess that is only when you do it yourself. I certainly do not recommend this establishment to anynone!! Bad Manners and Poor Service!!
